This was my first visit to Las Haciendas. The food was great and the drinks greater at happy hour time! Our server was very friendly and we had eight people at our table! I will definitely try it again!

Waiter did not come back to table after I got food to if I need anything else. I had to get him to bring me a other margarita. I went during happy hour was told the drink was 5.75 was not told the flavor margarita cost more at happy hr.I would have gotten the regular lime one for 4.75 happy hour I wouldn't gotten the flavor one. The price was not the problem but the waiter did not tell me it was only the house lime margarita for 4.75

Was on a different side if town so decided to stop for early dinner. We were seated immediately since there was no crowd and we made it 5 mins before happy hour ended. Will reccomend the watermelon margarita, Was decently strong! Waiter was fantastic and food came out really quick and hot.
App- 1/2 chicken nachos which were good.
Main- le favorito combination platter. Once again decent standard mexican food.
I'd go again for drinks as the food was nothing too special.
    Since I can't give 3.5, I'm rounding up.

Great food at a reasonable price. The service is always friendly and fast! Dont be discouraged if you see an empty lot, the food is really good!

The hostess there will greet you a stare blank.
When she gave me my food on dry voice, no smile thank me. I received a better friendly welcome from The walking dead

OMG! Our go to Sugar Land Mexican food spot. Fresh tortillas and great margaritas. Frank at the bar and Elizabeth are wonderful. Highly recommend

  • Dec 21, 2023 by Chris H.

The service at this restaurant was amazing!!! I have to deduct 1 star off the bat because of the lackluster salsas. The verde salsa was pretty bland and the red salsa is served warm without any noticeable spice or cilantro and onion flavor. I had the el favorito plate which came with the best tamale I've ever had! The other items were tasty too but the tamale stole the show. My date had the sampler platter and she was raving about the flavor of the chicken in her chimichanga and taquitos. The 3 star overall rating is because there are no less than 6 Mexican restaurants within a 2 mile radius around this place. We enjoyed our dinner but because salsas are such a big part of the Tex Mex experience we will probably bounce around to try the other area spots. By all means, don't let my review discourage anyone from visiting this establishment!!! The service is amazing and just because the salsa wasn't my cup of tea doesn't mean it wouldn't be perfect for someone else's palette.

Would highly not recommend after eating here for lunch not because of the food but the service. The service was horrible, truly atrocious. As a fellow Mexican myself I would not have expected the service to be this horrible and I am very disappointed. I will not be dining here again.

I would give this place a negative 1 star if I could. The people were cool there but we can't tell you what the food tastes like. We took ZERO bites. The look of the food was enough. I politely slid the plate away from me & beckoned for the manager. As you can see from the photos, the beans looked like a blob of brown paste, the rice was stuck together, the salsa was extremely runny and they had the nerve to claim that there was pico de gallo on our plates. As you can see, it was nothing more than lettuce & tomato. Even worse, it wasn't even quality lettuce & tomato. I couldn't believe it when the waitress claimed that what I had on my plate was a chalupa. I LITERALLY had unseasoned big chunks of chicken breast with the same sad lettuce & tomato on top of some round tortillas. Are you kidding me?.... I sent the food back and only paid for my son's drink simply because he said that it was decent. He had the Shirley temple by the way. However, it doesn't compare to the Shirley he got from Main Event last year. I had a tea that tasted like sugar water. I will never patronize this establishment again. This experience has really made me take a step back from the idea of eating out.

VERY BAD STRAWBERRY MARGARITA IT HAD SOAP IN IT!!! Yesterday was my birthday and my husband wanted to take me to have Mexican food. I reluctantly agreed to go to one of his frequent places. LA HACIENDA in Stafford. This is a place my husband likes to frequent because he is friends with the bartender and manager Frank. Frank is a nice enough guy but the food has become bland and not worth the price. Frankly it tastes like something you could go and get from Sam's and just warm up. It's nothing special. However I didn't want to ruin the evening so I went ahead and ordered a strawberry margarita. I didn't think it would taste so bad. At first sip it I was just sour. I tried to drink it but it just tasted so bad and I got the distinct flavor of Dawn dishwashing detergent. My husband was laughing at my face because it was just so bitter every time I took a sip. I told him to try it and asked him if he tasted the same thing. He said yeah it tasted like Dawn to him too! We called the waitress over, told her about it and she said oh and just took it asked me if I wanted another one! I said NO.. THE DRINK HAS DISHWASHING DETERGENT IN IT. YOU NEED TO GO ADDRESS THIS WITH YOUR MANAGER. YOUR GLASSES NEED TO BE RINSED OR SOMETHING. I WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO THE MANAGER! The waitress just left the table. I was just dumbfounded. My husband said.. don't make a big deal out of it. Just drink water with your meal. Needless to say, I'm never going back there. I can't believe we wasted our money. By the way the fish tacos tasted terrible. I don't know what kind of fish it was but it wasn't very tasty.

The food is great! The drinks are even better! Restroom is clean. No complaints at all

  • Jun 01, 2023 by The Pain Relief Center G.

The food is moderately priced but very, very tasty. Not an "in" spot like Pappasitos but very satisfying, without the crowds. A good regular go to place. Servers are very friendly and the manager stopped by to ask how things were.

If you haven't tried Las Haciendas on SW Freeway across the freeway from The Fountains strip center yet you're missing out!! The tortilla soup is absolutely delicious! Beef and chicken fajitas so tasty, meat tender - those working the grill know what they are doing! Guacamole always fresh and just great! Tortillas yummy as well. If you're a fan of cheese enchiladas, oh how good they are!! Frank runs a great restaurant and goes the extra mile for his customers.

  • Apr 29, 2023 by Tim Ottinger

It was pretty good. I came at an off time, but everything was quick and fresh.

I had the fish tacos - it was a lot of food for the money and good.

Food tended to the bland side, but was good and reasonably priced.

Va-quer-ito! Va-quer-ito! Va-quer-ito!!! If I lived here, I'd be here every weekend for their Vaquerito drink. I think I was buzzing after my second sip. Drank the whole thing and it was so delicious!!!!!! Their food is solid. That's to say- not the best but no where close to the worst. It seems like a "dependable" spot in that if you want to eat somewhere without having to worry about bad food, you can come here. I ordered the tacos de pastor. They weren't the best I've ever had but we're still flavorful. I suggest sautéed onions and offering a spicy green sauce. Boyfriend ordered a combo plate and had no complaints. We also ordered some flour tortillas. I would've been a happy girl just munching on their homemade flour tortillas and drinking the vaquerito. Service was great. Sat immediately and food was served pretty quickly - and hot!

Las Haciendas is one of my usual go-to for Mexican food. I come here with friends most of the time and we like to dine after the lunch/dinner rush when it's quiet and relaxing. It's in a good, easily accessible location and it's a quick drive from Sugar Land. The food is delicious and well-prepared, and the service is friendly and attentive. There's a bar area as well as a small outdoor patio that's nice to dine in especially at night.

  • Dec 02, 2022 by Kristin R.

The service here was fantastic. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite as great. We ordered the queso to start and it was a little gritty and disappointing. I ordered the shrimp infierno for my meal. The shrimp were over cooked, hard to pry out of the shell, and didn't have any flavor. It came over a skillet full of onions that also had no flavor. The rice and charro beans? You guessed it, no flavor. My boyfriend ordered the tacos al carbon with steak and he said they'd do in a pinch, but it wasn't something he'd seek out. All in all, it was disappointing Mexican food when there are some really good options in the nearby areas.

Do not go to this place. I went and my credit card got charged three times. I called and talk to guy named frank who is clueless on customer service. Guy took my number to give to the owner that wouldn't be back in a week. It's been three weeks no credit from the multiple transactions. I used to like this place but I am definitely going to let everyone I know never to go here. I'll send a chargeback for all three transactions. Good luck if you choose this place.

Was there Saturday afternoon August 27,2022 and it was absolutely disgusting. First off the waitress acted like she was pissed off to be there..walked by and slammed the menu on the table and just kept walking.About 10 minutes later somebody else showed up with stale chips and8 watery salsa..about 5 minutes after that the waitress showed back up and just stood there looking at me, not saying a word..I decided to enter her misery to tell her what I wanted..she wrote it down and left still without uttering a single word..by the way, still nobody has asked me what I wanted to drink or brought silverware..at this point I had stale chips ,watery salsa,no napkin or silverware..about 15 minutes later ol' grumpy brought out the beef fajitas and the rest of the garbage that went with it..she quickly put it on the table and was was walking off when I asked her if I could possibly order a Dr. Pepper and some silverware and a napkin..5 minutes later I received that and my check with another one of her"drive-by's"..the fajitas were still red (even though they were sizzling)..the flour tortillas were tough and gummy..I didn't even try any of the rest if it..I decided to get the hell out of there ,so I paid with cash an left it under under the comal..been going here for at least 10 years but never again..long story short I ended up at Whataburger DriveThru and it was excellent with a nice, friendly kid at the window..spent $30 @ Las Haciendas on garbage and $10 @ Whataburger for a great meal..Thank You Whataburger for saving the day !!!!

  • Jul 21, 2022 by Ava Deleski

Came here with a big party (reserved ahead of time) and had a great time! The fajitas are wonderful, and the enchiladas I can also reccomend. Staff were all polite and respectful despite the stress they were probably under with all the people! Good place for a family meal.

This place "Hac" everything it takes to be a top Tex Mex restaurant. And it is. We didn't have any problem at all with The Haciendas, and even though there's a lot of mediocre and bad Tex-Mex in Houston (and everywhere in the western world these days), we actually think this is pretty good by Tex-Mex standards. Don't get me wrong, if I was judging LH as a Mexican place, it would get a much lower rating, but we're judging it as a Tex-Mex eatery, and I think it's actually pretty impressive compared to most. Tasty and worth a trip and friendly and it's been here forever for a good reason. And it's not too expensive, unlike Barbi and I.

  • May 15, 2022 by Raisa D.

Ordered through the Yelp app, food was delicious i definitely wanna go check out the actual restaurant for myself instead of just delivery. But it was still fresh & warm when it got to my house, would give it for stars but it took a while to get to me

  • May 14, 2022 by Bella N.

Don't let the negative reviews stop you from giving this place a try! We ended up choosing this place for dinner on a Saturday night, despite the shady reviews. The service was great, the food delicious and the drinks good! Great salsa with chips! The staples: tortillas, rice and beans were on point. We came in from out of town (South Texas) for a conference. This restaurant was a good choice!

  • Apr 26, 2022 by Dre' M.

I had dinner walking distance from the Hotel and had one the best Carne Asada dinners that I have had in a long time!! Better than any chain, better than in Dallas, or Chicago, California and any other high end trendy Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurants in a while. This also includes in-house made flour tortillas, perfectly seasoned refutes beans that were either laced in lard or chorizo seasoning!! The price was right and I am ashamed to say that the portions were so plentiful that I had to walk away on maximum overload. Thank you for the great service and great food. I will see you next time I am in the Houston/Sugar Land area.

  • Apr 26, 2022 by Shuan W.

Worst service ever!!!! A waste of time. Go to another Mexican restaurant. You will have a better experience for sure.

  • Jan 06, 2022 by Chanketha D.

Service sucks..food subpar..don't recommend at all. No seasonings no taste.. Manager didn't even acknowledge us. Other patrons returned thier food. I think they need to just shut down

  • Nov 29, 2021 by Eint P.

I mostly come here because this is my husbands childhood restaurant that he used to come here a lot. The servers here are always attentive and we always get our food fast. Honestly, there's nothing special about the food other the fact that it's cheap for the amount of food we get. The veggie quesadillas are my favorite! A must have for sure. I've never tried any of their drinks but I know I always see people ordering their frozen margs. Their chips and salsa used to be good but nowadays the salsa taste so bad!

  • Aug 22, 2021 by TravelingGuy60

I ate two dinners here recently and have been dining here periodically over the past decade. I have never been disappointed. The Tex-Mex food is tasty and high quality. The margaritas and other drinks are good. The service is polite and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed, with many families, including those with young children present. The prices are affordable.

  • Jun 15, 2021 by Mark S.

Oh my my my.... This place was excellent. From getting acknowledged and seated right away to the delicious food including the stewed salsa. Mmmm. And we got sent away with a sweet tea Togo. This is my new spot when I'm in town

  • May 05, 2021 by Loriece W.

I ordered a strawberry margarita with salt. Glass came out hot with no salt and margarita did not taste like a margarita. I attempted to speak to manager and he had an attitude. The waitress came and she replaced with lime margarita with salt and extra shots after she started breathing hard and threw her head back when I complained. Not sure why she added extra shots when that was not my complaint. The waitresses barely speak english so it was hard for them to understand our order. I ordered a combination meal. The enchiladas were not good at all. Beef taco and beef fajita taco were ok. My husband had chicken fajitas and shrimp brochette. The chicken was ok but onions were good. They did not have enough waiters. The restaurant was very loud and busy which is ok. It was our first and last visit. There are too many Mexican restaurants around Houston to come back to one with bad service. The reason for one star is because my daughter had chicken nuggets and fries and cleaned her plate. My other daughter had a chicken quesadilla but did not eat rice and beans.

  • Aug 11, 2020 by Scott F.

Quick review before I forget: First, the chips were hot and delicious, the enchiladas were awesome, and the tamale (something I normally don't like) was the best I've ever had. With that being said, my friend ordered the ribeye steak, and it was the worst "steak" I have ever had. I could do better with boot leather. It had absolutely no seasoning. Even though my friend ordered it medium rare, it was unseasoned gray meat that tasted like it had been microwaved. I honestly just tasted the worst steak I have ever had in my entire whole giant great big freaking life.

Love to feel welcomed in an establishment , especially during these times.. Thanks for making my day.. bout to dip my chips in my beans Had to add it taste as good as it looks

This place is definitely worth a visit. The beef fajitas are excellent. 5/5

The California burrito was only 3/5. I'm from California and it was a mild approximation at best. No self respecting burrito joint in California would ever use 'queso sauce' on anything. At least it was on the side.

The service was decent, they were empty so I would expect a little more attention.

Overall I would come back and recommend it to you.

Got to town late and the place is near hotel so she were one of three tables in whole place at time so service was really good! My wife had a plate had a chicken chimi with a nice white sauce. Both of us had steak fajita taco in home made torilla as part of meal. The meat was good and the tortilla had that really nice chew . I gave it 3 cause the bill was almost 30 for two meals and no drinks: little high for what we got but a good solid place since we did t want to drive all over late.

  • Sep 01, 2019 by Rashad W.

This is normally our spot to come to. Today our server is a new guy . His attitude is very bad. When we try to tell him what we want his facial expression are very rude. Like really wtf type of look . We won't be coming here again . I'm watching him take some else order while m writing this review same treatment . This is ridiculous. My wife told him the order was wrong he insisted that's what he wanted . I lost my appetite.

Last minute thought and picked this place for our father's day meal for the cousins. There were about 30+ people with 9 fathers present. Placed in a side dining room and it was great. Went for a lunch and it was great. Great staff for our group. They were on point and kept tabs on us. Menu is large and typical mexican fare. Food was ordered and brought out quite fast. Everyone got what they wanted. Great day. Glad to see all the cousins and new additions.

My wife and I regularly stop in for Happy Hour. Frank makes great margaritas (get the frozen with a floater). The free happy hour buffet is good too, with chili con queso and carne asada. They just remodeled the bar area and it looks fantastic. The friendly and reliable staff makes this a solid choice.

  • Feb 15, 2019 by John O.

So dinner was pretty darn good my only complaint was my chile rellenos pepper had a strange bitter taste but the meat inside was great. Beans & rice where on point. My wife enjoyed her enchilada dinner. Prices wasn't bad and being Valentine's Day We got in and served very quick. I will be going back, great folks the waitress was very sweet.

We went around two and the lunch crowd had cleared out. Our service was prompt and efficient. I had the Carne Guised and my husband had Spinach Enchiladas. Both came with rice and beans. We asked for Charro Beans instead of refried. Happy Hour is from 11-7! Try it!

I usually don't write reviews but really felt like it was more than deserved today. Here on business staying nearby. Wanted Mexican food but didn't want to go far. Leary about eat here after the reviews. Don't be fooled. The restaurant was clean and the food was great. Had tostada , taco, chalupa, guacamole and enchilada . Was not disappointed in the least and I eat a lot of Mexican food. Great margaritas! Give it a try!!!!!. Staff friendly and efficient!!!

  • Dec 03, 2018 by Joli B.

We had two plate combos. The food was cooked and delicious. So we are good with kitchen. The waitress however was the problem. One, we ordered our meal with queso. We waited for queso and no queso. Why you may ask...well she was more concerned about the 2 large tables that she was focused on . I get it. I understand . Our tab is smaller than a 15 person table. But that does mean that you get our order wrong as well as not offer refills. Hell one of our drinks was from the bar and we were ready to drink but she only came to give us the ticket.but she did focus on the other tables and that's not good wait service...we will be back as food is good so we expect this to be remedied.

Been a while since I updated- great food, great friendly service. Frank makes amazing drinks. This isn't a fine dining Mexican place but it's super clean and we love it on Friday nights. Look at how many check ins I have. So there are other good places but this place is solid. Those one star reviews. Ignore them. not bad got seated right away. good service and food was good. Just always passed it up because the parking lot looked empty- tonight it was packed though.

  • Nov 22, 2018 by Keith D.

Great food and margaritas and excellent customer service. The happy hour prices on drinks can not be beat. The portions are large the wife is not a big eater so we usually just share an entree or appetizer. Let me add the wife had a traumatic brain injury last year and the ladies there are always happy to attend her in the restroom when she needs to go. Can you give six stars?

  • Sep 22, 2018 by drb622013

Our Friday lunch team has a good rotation of restaurants and last Friday was time to try out a new place to see if we would add it to our rotation. We selected Las Haciendas, the service was excellent, they have a wide variety of choices, chips and salsa are great. Our team had a combo plate, a quesadilla plate and a taco plate. All plates ended up empty and the first basket of chips was devoured. Prices are inline with other full service Mexican restaurants in the area. We will be back for seconds!!!

  • Jun 10, 2018 by Mabil A.

I used to love this place, but i don't know what happened I went last night and it seems they are remodeling. The waitress we had barely acknowledged us she gave us our tab and didn't say a word. My margarita didn't taste the same as it used to months ago. And my husband and I had the runs this morning. This used to be "our spot" not anymore. We were highly disappointed. Will not be going back.

This is a shout out to all My Fellow Road Warriors spending time at faceless generic budget business traveler hotels and chain restaurants. If you are in the zone of Hampton Inn, la Quinta, etc. in this area you might be tempted to go to one of the larger chain restaurants within walking distance. But walk a little further to Las haciendas to get a taste of something you don't see very often on the road, a place that on the outside might look like another chain restaurant but is in fact quite unique and friendly with very good food and drinks. Give it a try. Say hello to Franco the bartender, the hardest working man in (margarita) show business. Much Love.

  • Mar 07, 2018 by Loren F.

I love their carne asada more than life itself, BUT their soda taps are so abhorrent and foul that it ruins the entire meal. Get a water filter, PLEASE!

  • Mar 04, 2018 by Pueppi L.

It's a solid three stars ("A-OK") here. The enchiladas al carbon are what I get when I am in the need for a Tex-Mex fix in the Sugarland area. :)

  • Feb 25, 2018 by Clint M.

I honestly wish I had something to say about the food, because at least I'd get something that could be positive given how everything else was here. My wife and I walked in around 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. We weren't acknowledged. There wasn't even anyone around to acknowledge us. We looked around. There were a couple of tables occupied on the far left side of the building and most tables seated near the bar. After 5 min of waiting, we grabbed menus and perused them. After about 10, we sat ourselves at the bar, presuming no hostess existed. Based on looking at the table assignments, possibly only two servers were working. The bartender ignored us. About 10 minutes after we were seated, a young guy dropped off chips and salsa without saying a word. Another 10 minutes passed and a waitress asked if anyone had helped us. She took our drink orders, promptly came back to tell us they were out of one of the two soft drinks, then promptly dropped off the drinks in a rush without saying another word or taking our food orders. We waited another 10 minutes, then got up and left. They obviously didn't care about our business or anyone else's to have us waiting 45 minutes to even place an order.

  • Feb 22, 2018 by Hof N.

I have been to this place many many times for years. We always enjoy the fajitas mix (chicken and beef). I have tried many of the menu items and the drinks. Franco, the bar tender does excellent job with the drinks and customer service. I give him 5 stars always. On this trip, which included a friend from out of town, I ordered the Fajitas mix. The chicken, the beans and the corn tortillas was very good. 5 stars! The beef was not Fajita meat, over cooked and no flavor at all. 1 star. Both salsas very mild and no flavor. 2 star. Not my best experience at this location, but I hope they will make the necessary changes. I will be back, even if it's only for Franco's service and drinks.

Had the chicken breast with two cheeses. Couldn't remember the Mexican name if my life depended on it. While the cheese was a bit heavy and the chicken somewhat under seasoned, it was good.

  • Sep 25, 2017 by Jeremiah M.

I don't think I've had worse Mexican food in my entire life. It's unfortunate because they have such a great location. The salsa is not good. The flavor of the ground beef was bland. The chicken in the chicken fajitas is not good. We went here for lunch after church one Sunday. We were so disappointed, we haven't been back. They can do so much better all around.

  • Sep 02, 2017 by JenWren60

Being so close to our hotel we thought we would try this restaurant. I'm glad we did and we weren't disappointed. There was a great range of meals to choose from and likewise for the drinks menu as well. The food was super fresh and the service was faultless. Thanks for a great night.

Yelp needs a fractional star thingie. This was like a 3.7. I liked my food. I had the Enchiladas Verdes, and they were good but not amazing. I expect a little more spice with that dish, and these were not spicy. I mean, that's just their recipe, so that's fine. I'm sure a lot of people like it. Our waitress wasn't super kind, but she was efficient and got everything right. What bothered me a bit today(Saturday 6 PM) was how long it took to get our food. It took a good while. We did happen to come while there were two parties going on, so maybe that explains it, but I never finish the chips and salsa at any Mexican place and this time I did waiting for the food. That was my main compliant, but again, forgiving them because of the parties. If they're this slow next time and there are no parties, I will be knocking it down to three.

  • Jun 04, 2017 by Lauren R.

Went there the other night. We got seated. We waited 15 min for someone to acknowledge us I went to waitress and gave her our drink orders. We then placed our order. And waited 45 min for her to tell us that we would have to wait another 20 min because she placed the party of 15 people before us. It would have been cool if she would of told us this prior. Went to the POS manager who asked us to wait and we never saw him again. Waitress was having an attitude after that we got up and left. Don't waste your time when gringos is right across the street

I was so glad to spend some time here for lunch. I am visiting from out of town and this area is surrounded by a lot of chain restaurants that are all about volume and not quality of dining experience. I really enjoyed coming here. The staff seem like family and they treated me that way. The food was really good and there was a lot of it for relatively little money. I'll be staying in this area for quite a while and I'm sure I will come back here multiple times. It is not a high-class place but it's a great place to come and have some margaritas and eat some really good food.

  • May 14, 2017 by Em S.

Made the mistake of going here on Cinco de Mayo. While other places had a three hour wait, we were seated immediately at Las Haciendas. Buuuut...I don't think the person who sat us had authority to do so because there was arguing amongst the servers when we asked for menus. After 15 minutes without menus, we got up and got them ourselves. After 25 minutes, the cutest little fake blonde, extreme attitude having waitress with painted on jeans and a camel toe acknowledged us. 40 minutes in, chips & salsa. WTF is up with the runny ketchup like consistency to the salsa? And it tasted horrible. 35 minutes in, the frozen margaritas are delivered, but are only a bit frozen. Mostly melted margarita I would call it. I'll spare you the gory details, but the food was horrendous. I spent the night vomiting. Never again....

  • May 05, 2017 by Duane F.

Food was average. Service was terrible. We made a reservation for 18. The waitress said that she could do separate checks. The drinks and food service was slow and at the end she said that she was really not supposed to do separate separate checks. It took us longer to pay than it did to eat! Never going back!

  • Apr 11, 2017 by Tiffany J.

My friends and I had dinner here last week before. When we first arrived, the service was excellent. Our server memorized our orders and didn't get anything wrong. But as the dinner went on she was no where to be found. My friend had to fill her own water glass twice because she was MIA. There was a gentleman at the next table who needed more napkins and couldn't get anyone to bring any either. The enchiladas verdes were pretty good. The portions are generous. My house margarita on the rocks was okay. I probably wouldn't get it again. This place is okay, but it wouldn't be my first choice for Tex-Mex.

The worst Mexican restaurant I've eaten at in a long time. Not only was my food inedible the service was horrible. No wonder they didn't have a lunch crowd

  • Jan 17, 2017 by Patsy L

We come here on occasion. Great prices, good food and good margaritas. I love the chalupas. The fajitas are good too.

There are always a few dishes I use to benchmark my restaurants. In Mexican food, it is the carne guisada, and this place is among the best I have had. Rich Gravy and super tender beef tips. Sorry I didn't take a pic. I was too busy devouring it.

Since I travel to Houston on business a lot, I was happy to find a decent Mexican restaurant. In Houston, it's not that hard to find so the competition is pretty stiff. The food was delivered quickly and it was tasty and hot. I got the grilled chicken w/ shrimp and it was very good. Had the grilled veggies as a side and I would definitely recommend this to anyone. It looks like they had some type of nacho/taco bar that was free during happy hour, but I just ordered the regular food and was not disappointed.

  • Aug 31, 2016 by Bob S.

My wife & I visited the #2 location in Stafford on 8/27 around 9pm. Our meals had been the same all weekend except when going to this restaurant. She had the Carreta dinner & I had the Tamales dinner. On 8/28 I had severe gastric disturbances ALL DAY. I had to go to the bathroom 5 times. That disrupted my whole day and I had to go grocery shopping. I asked for a credit my card using their contact page but they never responded.

  • Jun 28, 2016 by joyceputz

Las haciendas is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I've eaten there at least 3 times a month for the last year. The charro beans are delish along with the platter that has ribs and bacon wrapped shrimp. Their tacos al carbon are also excellent.

  • Jun 21, 2016 by Natasha W

There was only one server working which did not enhance anyone's experience on the evening we visited. Ordered fajitas. Tortillas were no good. The tasted like greasy flour. The chicken was fresh and the onions were good. Salsa was hot which was interesting. Maybe I should have ordered a drink, seems like they get good reviews for their drinks.

4th visit so time to review. solid Mexican food. Nothing fancy. The standards: tacos, enchiladas etc. are tasty. I like the Chicken enchilada Verdi. Both the red and green salsas are good. The margaritas are fantastic!!!! The original use real line juice and not s mix. The frozen strawberry is mixed when it comes to your table ( not served as flavoring on top and you have to mix it). It has bits of strawberries in it too. Service has always been good. Wait staff always prompt.

  • May 21, 2016 by Candace S.

The service is horrible. I ordered the Pollo a la Playa and it was disappointing to say the least. There was no crab in it at all, just stuffing and crawfish. When I tried to tell my waiter he told me that the crawfish was the crab. Of couse I told him they were two different animals and he said no. I checked the menu just to make sure and there definitely was nothing about crawfish in the description. Not to mention my margarita was waterty. There is a reason there parking lot is alwas empty. DON'T EAT HERE!!!

  • Apr 06, 2016 by Linda C.

We've enjoyed eating here in the past because the food and service were good and it was never crowded. Went a couple of weeks ago after not going for a long time and it was different. They weren't crowded at all but the service was really slow. The food was very bland, almost tasteless. Our waiter never offered drink refills or refills of our chips and salsa. In fact after bringing our food he never came again except to give us our bill. None of us enjoyed our food, so I don't think we'll be going back.

  • Apr 01, 2016 by Crandall12

This establishment has nice portions of food. I was able to split the meal with a friend. The prices are good and so are the margaritas. The waiter was really good. The employees were all working hard. It was busy on a Friday evening in the bar area! Chips were served with salsa and a green sauce which was good! I was pleased with all of my food. Don't forget to get the self serve ice cream cone before you leave!

  • Mar 14, 2016 by Michel_Bolle

If I could give it a negative I would they don't deserve a one rating never tried their food would have loved to waited all week to try it me and my husband went on Saturday walked over there from the hotel walked in and got seated around 8:50 waited watched other groups come in get seated and their chips and salsa still waiting watch them get waited on drinks brought out still waiting finally get a bowl of salsa see other group walk in get drinks orders taken chips still waiting to even be acknowledged by wait staff finally at 9:15 told my husband lets go as were walking out the waiter who walked past us at least 5 times that I noticed and waited on others who came in after us says oh your leaving ? Ummmm yes we have patiently waited and did not once get acknowledged by anyone other than the boy who brought our chips after 9mins of being there so yes were leaving .

The happy hour drinks here is absolutely great especially the Top Shelf Margarita. The chips and 2 different types of dip is good the nacho happy hour nacho bar is good. The happy hour bartender is great Only thing that was good was the staff. The food was absolutely horrible. I will never eat there again and thats a shame because it is so convenient. SAD

Having lived in Texas my whole life I have eaten at a lot of TexMex restaurants in my life. I have to say I have had a lot better. I can't remember the name of the dish I had today but it was basically 3 enchiladas; 1 chicken, 1 cheese, and 1 ground beef. The chicken and ground beef were dry. They also used corn tortillas instead of flour. I substituted the gravy for queso, which was ok. Their refried beans were watery and had no flavor. I had to add tons of salt. Can't speak for the rice other than it looked dry (I don't eat Spanish rice). The waiter was great! He was very attentive with drink refills and there were 7 of us all with separate checks. I cannot honestly recommend this restaurant. There are too many better TexMex places in town.

  • Nov 10, 2015 by Lori G

We ordered fajitas and cheese enchiladas. Both were just so-so. The hot sauce is warm so if that's how you like it, you'll be pleased. They also serve a green dip which was good. The service was technically good - he did his job for sure, but wasn't very friendly. The atmosphere was good and the location handy since it's right off the highway. In a nutshell, I'd pass on this restaurant.

  • Sep 14, 2015 by Hof N.

Great flavor and reasonable prices! I have tried several menu items over several trips. Most times the food is really good. They have a great happy hour and the main bartender, Franko, runs the place as if it was his own! Our favorite special is the mix fajitas. We always enjoy this plate and often take a doggie bag home. The rice and beans are even better with some of the home made salsa. I recommend this place if you enjoy good Mexican food and don't need a fancy place to enjoy it.

  • Aug 31, 2015 by Ayeshahalam

Papasittos is very expensive. This place has the same quality food but way better priced. And great margaritas. Usually not too crowded. Friendly and quick service

  • Aug 23, 2015 by Amber S.

We're regular customers. The salsa and avocado dip are great, and we love the veggie fajitas.

  • Aug 07, 2015 by Bob D

Good Mexican food and great margaritas on the rocks. A free soft-serve ice cream on your way out. No so loud as other places.

  • Jul 04, 2015 by Kaye S.

We ended up in this place because the other mexican restaurant that I wanted to try was closed for the holiday (its 4th of July). We got quezo and chips for appetizer. Chips were crunchy but quezo was okay and guacamole was cold! We got the haciendas plato (beef and cheese enchiladas + beef soft taco + beef fajita in flour tortilla) and carne guisada. Everything was bland! I only ate 1/4 of my meal and didn't even bother to ask for a to go box. Service was fast though but that's because we were the only customers! I wouldn't recommend this place.

  • May 09, 2015 by Candy C.

This place is good for groups and kids. Chips were crispy, I prefer thinner chips. The red salsa had good flavor and was served warm, it was mild and could have used a little more heat for my taste (they also had a green sauce but I didn't try it). I ordered an ice tea it had a rich color and good flavor. For the entree three of us decided to order the "Parilladas Del Cocinero" for three, it came with Shrimp brochettes (enough for 2 each) beef and chicken fajitas (we opted for beef only which was tender and juicy, you could tell it had been marinated so yummy), baby back ribs (enough for 2/3 ribs each depending on the size) they were a little sweet but full of flavor and fall off the bone tender) on a sizzling grill with onions, stuffed jalapheños (were not spicy and had a lot of cream cheese), bell pepper, pico de gallo, charros beans, sour cream, guacamole, tortillas (you can ask for corn) and rice (each person gets their own bean and rice set). Tip: eat the shrimp first or take them off the platter so they don't get over cooked. We left the restaurant stuffed. Giving 4 stars because service could be better, the server was friendly but not attentive to refills and got part of our order wrong.

I love this place. Not to busy and the food is great. It's worth the money . They even offer free icecream

  • Dec 02, 2014 by Jerry R.

The beef fajitas are always tender and flavorful and usually never dissapoint. You get a whole bunch for 11.99 which cant be beat. Sometimes the onions aren't caramelized enough but that's a minor issue. The salsa is always inconsistent in that it always taste different but it's always tasty nonetheless. The chips are always fresh. Service is kinda slow but not terrible. If you want a cheaper alternative to pappasito's more expensive fare then this is the place to go.

I have lived here my entire life, and we have never eaten here. I'm literally sitting at the table still, writing this review lol. Our service was okay, not the best. Our waiter didn't have very good manners, but I can overlook things like that. He was not straight up rude or anything. I ordered the cheese enchilada plate, it was so good! My girlfriend got shrimp tacos, and she LOVED them. The chips and salsa weren't that good. Chips tasted odd. The salsa tasted like it had a huge overload of cilantro. The tomatillo sauce was okay, a little spicier than others I have tried. Overall, pretty good, I'll definitely be back :)

Tonight was my 3rd and probably last time here, I feel like it's getting worse. The service is terrible (the waiter is amnesiac and slow). I got the wrong tequila. It was supposed to be red fish and chicken, I had catfish and a piece of the toughest white meat I ever tried to chew on. Waiting for the check now, hoping for no surprises... There has to be better around here, so close to Mexico.

Decent Tex-Mex place conveniently located in Stafford near Sugar Land. On our visit there were lots of big groups and parties. There seems to be a good Happy Hour here. Service was quick and easy. The food was good, and very reasonably-priced. No complaints.

After a particularly bad experience here years ago, I avoided this place. However, out of sheer desperation to find a good Mexican Food restaurant close to home, I gave in after seeing it had 4 stars on Yelp, and tried it again. First, the place looked a bit worn and in need of some repairs, paint, etc. I wasn't impressed since the lighting was bright enough (too bright) to hide the wear and tear. On the other hand, there wasn't a room full of screaming, out of control kids either (unlike Cafe Adobe and Lopez). I marshaled on hoping I wouldn't regret it. Second, the menu. Hmmm, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of offerings unlike Lopez. They actually have tamales, unlike Lopez. The obligatory chips and salsa arrived promptly, and I really liked the crispy chips, but the creamy verde sauce was very similar to the great one at Chuy's that everyone raves about! They had a nice variety of margaritas (unlike Lopez) and the top shelf was was very good and generous! The waiter was very nice about honoring substitutions when I ordered a combo meal with a tamale, beef fajita enchilada, and a cheese enchilada with chile gravy. The meal arrived quickly. The beef fajita enchilada was tasty, as was the cheese. I also like that they use real sour cream unlike many restaurants. By the end of the meal, I was one happy Mamacita. Oh, and hubby liked his chicken quesadillas, but that isn't really important. What is, is that I hope I've finally found a new favorite in my quest for good Tex-Mex!

  • Mar 05, 2013 by BigEdo

Large menu, generous servings, tasty food, good prices. Free buffet during happy hour to go with the excellent Margaritas. Very friendly staff and clientelle.

  • Dec 11, 2012 by Indiana86

If you want really good Tex-Mex @ 60% of the big chains, this is the place. Homemade tortillas, good fajita's, cheap draft beer. Hard to beat with spending far more. The Stafford location appears to be quieter than the other ones. Same great food.

  • Oct 18, 2012 by Melissa C.

real good texmex....tasty margs. cheap prices too been going for lunch since 2006

  • Oct 12, 2012 by Klash H.

I just left Las Haciendas minutes ago. I attempted to have a birthday lunch for 10 what we got was a birthday lunch for 6. The manager also became irate when we asked for separate boxes and slammed the kitchen door while guest were seated. I believe he also used profanity but due to our distance I could not tell. I will never come back and I may call corporate. I feel robbed.... There are way too many places in Houston to spend your money. I have been coming here for years and they just lost a customer.. Honestly I think they could care less. But I intend to post a review on all the media outlets for food within the city in hopes of them loosing money. I think one person can make a change.

I've lived in and around Sugar Land for eight years and had never stopped in this place until.today. The food is high quality, large portioned and less expensive than anywhere else in Sugar Land/ Stafford. The Stafford plate is a great way to get a taste of what they have to offer. I will definitely be returning here.

Hands down THE BEST margs in SW Houston! Top shelf frozens can not be beat and the service is great. Free buffet appetizers during HH and awesome drink prices. Free ice cream makes the kids happy too!

  • Apr 13, 2011 by Jeannette S.

Can we say HAPPY HOUR??!?!! Las Haciendas is OUR place to be for HH. Frozen Margaritas are $2.50 each and I think top shelf is $4. I forgot how much a pitcher of beer is but it's fairly cheap. And some other frozen drinks are $4 too. Besides the regular chips and salsa there's a little complementary buffet bar FREE when you order drinks. I find their frozen margaritas stronger than many places. I am a lil tipsy with just 1 margarita here. Me and the boyfriend come here whenever we can and the bill never exceeded $20. They have daily specials on regular food as well. I tried their fajitas and they were yummy. My favorite is the shrimp brochette. $8.99 for 6 bacon wrapped shrimps and that's cheap compare to other restaurants. Feelin' a margarita yet?

  • Aug 28, 2009 by Tim P.

This is one of our favorite places to eat good Mexican food. The food is delicious, and for the price, the quality is great. The atmosphere is very "authentic" in that the wait staff is almost all spanish speaking. My wife and I usually split the fajitas for one here, but we've had other dishes and everything has been great! I definitely recommend this restaurant for a cheap enjoyable meal! Salud!

  • Aug 15, 2009 by Melissa M.

Sick of the same old places? We certainly were... so as we were driving out of Sugar Land toward Houston, we decided to try a place we've passed on the freeway thousands of times. Las Haciendas is in The Fountains area of Stafford. We always grouped it together with the Chinese and American buffet places around there, and therefore had never been before. We were missing out. Ok, so this is no Cyclone Anaya's, but it's good service, good food, at a cheap price! We went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The place was pretty quiet (maybe 6-7 other tables were occupied). The tables and restaurant were clean (a pet peeve of mine!). The waitress we had was attentive. The food was good. My husband enjoyed his chicken enchiladas ($8.99). My flautas were good ($8.99). My only gripe was that the rice was obviously not made scratch. It was obvious that the peas and carrots in the rice were reconstituted dried veggies. I'd prefer that a restaurant not use dried vegetables in their rice. Everything else was very good. The salsa was spicy but my husband liked it a lot. The chips were good. We ended our meal with a shared piece of Tres Leches ($4.99). It was good, not the best I've ever had, but good. I will say that for an entree of $8.99, I was very surprised that the sodas were $2 a piece. That seems awfully expensive compared to the food. Overall, I'd suggest that you give the place a try!

Been to this place about a half dozen times. It has a good brunch buffet (11-2) on the weekends that you should check out. For less than $10 a person you get all you can eat beef & chicken fajitas, beans, rice, beef enchiladas, pork ribs, and more! All the food is good... but the ribs deserve special mention. They are so tender that you pick them up with a serving spoon and the bone still falls off sometimes! The buffet also includes ice cream and 3-5 other dishes that seem to keep changing. It use to be 5 (the first few times I went) but they took away the included mimosas and cake... so it's between a 4 and 4.5 now.
