This is a very subpar hotel. It is old, and badly in need of renovation! The elevator was not working, and our room smelled like cigarette smoke. The ac in the room malfunctioned, as did the toilet. There was no ac on in the hotel and it was hot and stuffy. Even the coffee maker wasn't working! Also, the location in regards to The Frost Bank Center was great, however, the area itself was bad! The manager had to confront a random homeless man who was helping himself to breakfast.
The one bright spot was the day manager Jesse! He was very accommodating! I typically stay at Best Western and am very satisfied. Don't stay at this one!! -

Don’t waste your money! Our son came with us and planned to sleep on the couch. We asked for an extra sheet and blanket for our son and as the single blanket on the bed was extremely thin. We were told no because our room had all the amenities we needed! We have never had this experience. The wall texture above the shower was recently redone but not painted. There was no hot water. We tried to put the wall unit on constant fan to block out outside noise. Nope. Parking was somewhat limited. It was a terrible experience. We will never stay in another Best Western if we can prevent it.

In need of some TLC. Disappointed in Breakfast. With 30 minutes left for breakfast most everything was gone or cold. The scrambled eggs were quite cold and hardly any left. I ended up going next door to Whataburger for breakfast. The TV channel selection was poor. All things considered next time zo am in San Antonio I will choose a different Best Western.

Subject: Urgent: Concern Regarding Unreturned $100 Deposit
Dear General Manager/Owner,
I am writing to bring to your attention an issue with one of your managers, Jess or Jessie. My experience with this individual has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. They have been rude during our interactions and have repeatedly hung up the phone when I attempted to discuss the reconciliation of my $100 hold deposit.
It has now been over a month since this matter began, and my $100 deposit has still not been returned to my bank account. While Jess/Jessie provided a copy claiming the refund was processed, the document lacks a reference number to confirm the transaction. My bank has also confirmed that no such refund has been received as of November 27, 2024.
Although $100 may not seem like a large amount, it is significant to me. I kindly request that you take immediate action to investigate and resolve this matter.
Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your prompt response. -

THE DOOR DIDN’T FREAKING LOCK!!!!
TLDR: find a different hotel
Me and my friend arrive to the hotel and after checking in we realize that the door doesn’t lock at all, the deadbolt unlocked when you used the outside handle and the key card was pointless because the automatic lock didn’t work either. We had to go to an event so we’re assured that maintenance would fix the door before we got back but lo and behold when we get back at 2 AM they told us that their maintenance guy “doesn’t answer calls like that” And has better things to do. So unfortunately our choices were to sleep in an unlocked hotel room or in my car in a sketchy part of a city we’re not from. So obviously we stayed and we were told that in the morning when we spoke to the front desk, they would issue us a FULL refund. We didn’t sleep a wink and the next morning the man behind the desk goes on for half an hour, telling us that he would not issue us a refund and it’s our fault for staying the night instead of leaving. He told us that it was perfectly acceptable to have a door that didn’t lock so long as we had three latch AKA A crappy flimsy piece of metal held in by half-inch screws, and after a lot of back-and-forth, he tries to get us to leave by telling us he would talk to his manager about a partial refund. Which we did receive… we got $35 which is honestly worse than nothing because they admitted that they will fully intend on renting out this faulty hotel room to the next idiot even without getting it fixed so this is basically just shut up money. -

I stay in this hotel and everything is okay and good location. I paid in full in Expedia and they ask me to deposit $100 upon check in, which i provided and when i follow up my $100 the hotel attendant over the phone is not honest very rude to talk and keep saying its already back in my card until i keep calling and to find out it was not properly process and until now its a week never get my $100 deposit. Hoping still ill

We stayed here for our little get away and it wasn't bad. The rooms were clean, the front check in was quick. The location was ok too, not to far from downtown.

Absolutely terrible!!! Came into town for work and stayed here and it sucked. No wifi no microwave in room the whole hotel smelled of bad body odor and cigarettes homeless people walking around everywhere fitness room was a joke everything was broke my toilet broke when I flushed it they used a bread tie and a Bobby pin to fix it which lasted one flush breakfast was trash the shower/bathtub was slimmy I felt disgusting while trying to clean myself I don’t recommend this place and won’t be back

DO NOT stay here! They have cockroaches and do not clean the rooms well. They also do not care about customer safety. There was a laundry detergent spill at the the front near the counter and they acknowledge it but did not clear it up during my stay. Their fitness equipment is broken and they verbally acknowledge that as well but there are no signs or anything to warn people. I ended up checking out early because of how ridiculous this place is. When I complained about the cockroach, they moved me to a new room. In the new room there was a used condom rapper and a gummy near the bed. Then they moved me again. It was such a joke at this point. They told me that they would fire the maid and give me a refund for two nights which they did NOT. They never answered my phone calls nor the calls from Expedia. Nasty and horrible staff that lied to me and clearly does not care about the safety of others. Seems like they just care about money or else why would they not honor their refund.

Stayed here three times. Fitness equipment broken each visit. Reported to front desk, but nothing fixed. Equipment eas worse next visit. Air-conditioning leaked a lot of water. Informed front desk, but all they can do is relay message to manager. Spoke to manager/owner, but nothing was done. Ice maker has note that repair is in progress for four months and counting. Served eggs and sausage two weeks straight. Previous stay the breakfast had three different meats over ten days, which is great. Very disappointed that front desk cam mostly relay messages but can't initiate repairs. The sink was missing stopper and nearly lost a Ring. Wifi only works in certain rooms. Not a Best Western. It is a Worst Western. I'd rather pay more and drive farther for better service. Three strikes, and you are OUT.

The first room we stayed in didn't have an ironing board or a coffee maker, I only noticed when we left, so that's how important it was. It had a few mosquitos (skinny flies?), but I'm guessing that's a San Antonio thing. The room was clean and comfortable for a 3 night stay. The location is a little bit scary, but it felt safe, no stragglers hanging out in the lobby or in the parking lot. The man at the front desk was so patient when we arrived, having just left a different dangerous and dirty hotel. Every employee was kind and helpful.
For our second stay, we booked online. The front desk employee remembered us which was super nice. The room felt like it hadn't been used in a while, so it needed to be aired out. There was an ironing board and coffee maker, but we still didn't need them. There was a roach (an exit was next to us), but the employee squished it for us, and if that's not great customer service, I don't know what is. -

I would give 0 stars if possible. This is the worst hotels I’ve stayed at and I wouldn’t even pay again if I knew how bad it was. Stayed 2 nights. The first day I got there around 11pm ready to check in. I called before arriving to confirm I could pay cash. When my family and I get there, the female clerk tells us we need a separate $100 refundable at checkout deposit that we hadn’t known about before. Luckily we had it and we gave it. When we get off the elevator to the second floor, there is no ac in the halls and the windows are open with construction sounds coming in. For the $185 we left we expected better. We get to our room then we need extra pillows and blankets so we ask for them. She kindly got up and gave them to us without mentioning any extra charge. The next morning, I go checkout we are notified by the “manager” that was clerking that $30 will be deducted from our deposit for asking for extra pillows and blankets. After an argument and we just agreed to it and even extended our stay to a second day. For the second day we get moved to the third floor in which the windows were closed in the halls but it was still humid. In the restroom the vent didn’t work and the restroom was terribly hot with even mold in the ceiling. We then ask for more pillows and ask if we will get charged and this time they did tell us $50 will be deducted to which we said “never mind” but the guy was courteous enough to still let us use them for “free”. In the morning, the same “manager” notifies me that $15 will be deducted because “an extra person came out the room” when he saw all of us before we even extended the stay so he knew how many people we were. I just agreed to it and we told him we’ll never stay here again to which he replies “okay, that’s fine don’t come”. We also let him know we will call and complain to a manager to which he says “I am the manager and there is nobody above me. Overall just save your money and don’t come here! They don’t ever mention the $100 deposit, extra charge for pillows or blankets and are rude to you. There is also a bunch of drug addicts roaming around outside.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We were in town for a funeral and rented a room here. It was absolutely DISGUSTING. Mold in the AC, mold in the curtains, dirty bed linens, missing trim, broken TV, and the toilet paper holder was broken off and the toilet paper was just stuck on one of the arms where it should have been. The floors were REPULSIVE - our feet were black just walking from the bed to the bathroom. We checked back out and went elsewhere - we couldn't even put our baby down in this room!

PLEASE READ IF THINKING ABOUT STAYING HERE!! If you are thinking about spending the night to this hotel please don’t. This place is very unprofessional and uncomfortable. The point of a hotel is to sleep comfortably and this place does not fulfill that requirement. The beds are way too small and had me hanging my feet off the bed. I wanted to find another hotel to sleep but the word “refund” is not in their vocabulary. The room was basically a microwave with poor air conditioning. Definitely the worst hotel I’ve stayed in and I’ve had plenty of bad experiences. The manager of this hotel doesn’t seem to care about people’s bad experiences at all and from what I’ve read off of these reviews, there seems to be no improvement. This hotel will remain to be horrible until the day it’s run under new management. The only reason why this place is still in business is because they give no refunds. Very horrible place; I would rather spend the night in the conjuring house with Annabel and Chucky right next to me. Atleast there’s some decent air conditioning in that house. The nicest people on earth had to stay here if this is rated 3-4 stars. If this does not convince you to turn back and find another hotel I don’t know what will.

From the second we got to this hotel we had issues. None of the pictures you see are accurate. The staff is rude rooms are horrible. If you value your health and your family’s with the picture I added that should be enough to show you how disgusting this building is. THERES BLACK MOLD ON THE ROOF OF YHE BATHROOM!!!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We spent a little more to get a hotel that wasn't 1 or 2 stars, but this hotel felt like that. We went during the summer and checked into the room around 3 pm and the room didn't cool down until night time. Also, the hallway doesn't have air since the AC wasn't working and you can smell smoke as you enter. The Wi-Fi did not work in our room and they said they were going to fix it but never did. The hair dryer also did not work and they tried to fix it but it still didn't work. Their one elevator stopped working the second to last day we were there. I can see dust everywhere, such as the furniture and bedding have visible stains during the first day of checking in. They didn't bother to properly do room service the last day besides taking out the trash and the manager saw it with his own eyes. The restroom doesn't have any air vent so it felt as if I was in a sauna AFTER taking a shower. The pictures advertised on Best Western website is very deceiving and not what was provided. Amenities they claim that was available is either out of stock or broken. There are more, but these are just the major issues that I did not expect from a 3-4 star rated hotel. It was not worth the extra cost.
TLDR; if you care for cleanliness, cool air, Wi-Fi, etc. then don't book this hotel. -

If you have a service animal definitely look elsewhere. Even when you have your doctor paperwork they won't allow you to stay. This is discrimination tourds people with mental disabilities.

Typically our experience is very good with BW however this one is not the quality I expect. Breakfast options are extremely limited. Cleanliness was okay but rooms were nothing to be impressed about rather outdated. We also had lots of issues with the Internet. Highly recommend improvement.

Staff was nice and informative. The room was clean except for someone's hair left on the toilet. The bed sank in the middle and the pillows were tiny. I mean, like four square throw pillows. We ended up going to the store after the first night, and buying two brand new pillows that we'll take back to our house.
The breakfast area was clean and mostly stocked. The Waffles were as expected as they pretty much all use the same batter and syrup. The eggs, sausage and biscuits were just acceptable, nothing more.
The hallway was like an oven. They had the windows open and it was 92 degrees as we walked to our room. -

After checking in, we found out the tv only worked on 1 channel. That channel was CNN. It's the worst channel in history. With all the road construction, I would not recommend staying here.

A good location but not enough parking buuuut alot of restaurants near by the only bad thing is they need another waffle maker and toppings but other than that is was a pleasant stay

The rooms were great, and the service was just as good. Be wary of the location because on this side of San Antonio it can get a little scary, so if you have kids just be cautious.

I was recently at this location when I was insulted by the front desk guy, told that I was watched and a report was given on me which is creepy to a single lady. And also told that my guest for breakfast wasn't welcome... I was made to feel like I wasn't valued and discriminated against since I was the only one being chastised at breakfast....not a good way to start a day...

The aroma of marijuana was pronounced on the third floor hallway. This is a shame. Vaping detectors are something to consider. The elevator, at times, smelled like vomit, sour sponges, and/or industrial hydraulic lubricants. It was strange. The smoke detector was missing in my room and the lighting was dim.

Had reservations for a queen/non-smoking. Was told by Daniel that they were having door issues... wouldn't lock or close from outside! Upon inspection, the room had no deadbolt! Daniel said it was safe and could just put something behind the door!? After saying he was sold out, he upgraded me, no extra charge to king/SMOKING!...after calling prior hotel I stayed at with no answer, it was late and stayed...but it was unacceptable for price,safety and location.

We visited san antonio last weekend and were very pleased with our stay. Jessie at the front desk was very helpful and kind, and was able to answer all of our questions. The room was clean and spacious and the double beds were bigger than the others we have stayed at! Breakfast was pretty good as well, the kids were happy to eat waffles, cereal and muffins!

I think this is the most pathetic hotel in whole Texas. We had very bad experience . They are calling twin bed as queen bed which is misleading, it's very small in size. Cheap blanket with no pillow. Please don't go by reviews, looks like all are fake reviews. They don't evem deserve 1 star. Don't even think of booking the room here.

Absolutely horrible. The rooms are supposed to be non smoking but the second I walked into the hallway AND the room it reeked of cigarettes and ashtrays. Eventually I canceled the rest of my reservation due to how bad it was. Got my final price, next morning when I went to check out I asked for a confirmation email showing that I’d get my refund (as the attendant said I would), I showed the receipt showing what I payed but that I wanted a receipt that I’d get that credit back as well, and he took it and told me that the pricing was “wrong” and continued to increase the price by way more than what I had payed for. DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!
