This place is an average roadside motel. It’s old and dated but decently clean. HOWEVER- after checking out, they billed my cc for more than agreed stating that “incidentally, the rate changed”. They refused to adjust to the rate we had discussed. The person with Chase I spoke to actually said this very motel did the same thing to them!

Only 4 stars due to the price. I've stayed here quite a few times over the years. It's just overpriced for as long as it has been there. 184 bucks.
Overall, our stay was super. It was not a busy weekend, so there wasn't a bunch of noise, and we slept great. The room was clean , and the beds were OK.
Check-in was awesome, and the girl was super nice.
Went down for breakfast and was not disappointed. Lady there was super nice, so make sure you tip her when you get there.
Now go to the beach and enjoy yourself !

IVY WAS FRIENDLY & HELPFUL ONLY STAFF! THE REST WERE NOT FRIENDLY OR REALLY HELPFUL! NEED TO HAVE SOME SUITES ON THE FIRST FLOOR OR INSTALL AN ELEVATOR! NEED BREAKFAST 7 DAYS A WEEK! GET COMFORTABLE FURNITURE THE FURNITURE WAS HORRIBLE! BUT THE KING SIZE BED WAS COMFORTABLE! THE FURNITURE SUCKED!

The hotel was close to beaches, good eateries. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and the breakfast was fresh with several options.

  • May 29, 2024 by Andrea Mara

Hotel is right as you cross the bridge over the channel. The hotel has plenty of parking, rooms were clean, and the breakfast was very good. We are coming back.

  • May 12, 2024 by Justin long

I really enjoyed my stay here. For a hotel on the beach it was very clean and comfortable. I have no complaints.

  • Apr 09, 2024 by Ken P.

A little, ok a whole lot like an old style motel. Rooms were typical layout, the front door was not square in the frame and there was a pretty significant gap around the lower side. Glad there was no significant bug issue. Customer service was attentive and welcoming, a positive for us.

Not worth the money... Probably the most depressing location, if you're going to get a hotel on the island just fork over a few more bucks to get a much better hotel. The room was clean when we got there but room service did not exist and we never got any restock on towels or cleaning which is a bummer because sand gets everywhere. Some outlets and bulbs didn't work, the clock was not working and the microwave time was set incorrectly. These are cheap small fixes that speak to the quality and service.

    Horrible Experience.
    2 night stay.
Last night a fisherman stayed left all his dead fish in the trash.
Now day 2 I'm smelling dead fish coming into my room.
Noticed the stink this morning, called the front desk to advise they fix situation.
3:30 in the afternoon after coming in from surfing the stink is still there.
    I notified the desk again.
She acted ignorant without any apology.
I'm never staying here again and I'm a repeat customer...

Location is good, just over bridge on Padre Island. Breakfast is usually good. Out of 4 nts, only 1 day had food run out and the person servicing didn't make more though it runs til 10 and it wasn't even 9:30 yet. To be fair, she also had to run the front desk so she was doing the best she could. Staff is pleasant and rooms are clean. They change towels daily but don't make beds, which was fine by me. Beds are too firm for my taste and pillows are not comfortable at all. Unfortunately didn't sleep too well here. Wish there was a few choices for type of pillows but the 8 in the room were identical. It is def dated and needs some TLC. Pipes in my room were incredibly loud, I think mainly when someone upstairs used the water. Woke me up in middle of nt a few times. Walls and door are thin. This place was NOT quiet. I was here to visit my USN son, but tough week as spring break for TX families and it was loud and a bit of mayhem long into the night, which was tough after midnight when trying to sleep. Good spot for those who want to fish. Just wish there were less revelers drinking in parking lot and being loud after 11pm. Didnt use pool. It's a 2 star motel, so adjust your expectations and my recommendation is to bring ear plugs. Though a platinum member, may stay at LA Quinta next time. Looks newer. Or rent a condo.

We stayed here for two nights as we toured around the area as part of a month long road trip through Arizona and Texas. The motel is definitely older and could use some significant improvements and renovations, but everything functions and is clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. Staff is friendly and very responsive to requests. Breakfast was good with a decent variety of hot and cold items. It’s convenient to travel in any direction, although it is a bit awkward turning in from the busy highway.

  • Feb 01, 2024 by JS D

Close to beaches and the National Seashore. Close to attractions in Corpus Christi. Clean, beautiful pool with crystal clear water. Breakfast had good assortment of hot and cold items Felt safe. Bed was comfortable for a good nights sleep.

  • Feb 01, 2024 by garblesnap

Staff was very friendly and were accommodating for all the families needs. They have a little area to purchase additional items if you forgot them, even bottles and sippy cups! Breakfast was a hit with the family and staff was amazing. We will be coming back to this location!

  • Jan 01, 2024 by Green122008

Room was clean, receptionist was very friendly. Breakfast was good different choices to choose from. Nice close to where i was fishing so that made it a plus. Really convenient. Restaurants' located not to far away.

This is a great place to stay which is near the beach, very affordable with many amenities. The staff is helpful, friendly and gives great customer service. They offer a great free breakfast with many choices.

After a long trip, it felt good to walk into a friendly staff to greet you and a good smelling clean affordable Hotel and a pleasant stay near the beach, restaurants, and the bay! Highly recommend them!!

This Best Western is ok. Not great but ok. We got the double queen suite with a kitchen. If you plan on doing that too be prepared to bring ALL your own dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans, dish towels, dish soap....you get the idea. Like Old Mother Hubbard ALL the cabinets were bare. Not even Paper Towels. They had the stove top, microwave and fridge just nothing to use with it. I guess you have to pack like you're camping. That is what 209.00 a night will get you. And this is an older complex. I will list pros and cons below. Pros: Comfortable beds and pillows Clean bedding Breakfast included (We didn't eat it) Very nice front desk staff Cons: Floors need to be cleaned better. Fridge smelled and needed to be cleaned NEEDS kitchen supplies. Cheap thin rough toilet paper Stiff rough bathroom towels Just needs better cleaning over all. Way too expensive for what you get. Overall a mediocre place to stay.

  • Dec 19, 2023 by John Morris

Room was clean and comfortable; however they never cleaned the room or changed the bedding after the first night.

  • Nov 29, 2023 by Joseph Miller

We needed to getaway and get some rest as we had just sold our old home and bought a new home. We were really tired and worn out from all the cleaning and moving that we had done. This location was great as it is in a sparsely populated area. We were only five minutes away from 10 miles of beach that we were free to walk and drive around on. There was always coffee available and the breakfast they served was very satisfying.

  • Nov 27, 2023 by Tom Anderson

Really great place close to everything. Very spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Great breakfast area and good variety of food items.

  • Nov 14, 2023 by Mark Isherwood

We really e joyedvthe stay heeefor two nights and found it a great location for the Padre Island sights. Room was clean and everything was working and good WiFi connection and speed. Main complaint was the door ro room which was very stiff to move so you think it's not unlocking. Free breakfast is a great bonus and money saver if your on hols nd should keep you going past lunch.

  • Nov 01, 2023 by jelley2023

large, clean rooms, park right by your hotel room door. i love not having to take an elevator and walk down a dingy hallway like most hotels these days.its much more convenient the way this hotel is set up.

  • Oct 01, 2023 by martaurania8186

Weekend get away for our little family. Good place bc we love fishing and the boat ramp is not even 5 minutes away. Beach the same is a very good location. Been staying there since 2010. We love it because it also has a pool. And after a hot day in the sand it's nice to come to fresh water. Love the staff always really nice. Breakfast has always been good quite a bit to choose from.

  • Oct 01, 2023 by kellyred83

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon. The location was perfect, close to all the attractions we wanted to do, but still felt private for a romantic honeymoon experience. The room was clean and quiet and the staff was always happy to help with any needs we had from keeping me well caffinated to recommendations for great food with amazing atmosphere and seaside views.

  • Aug 06, 2023 by Amber Nichols

Joy at the front desk is incredibly helpful, kind and a great asset to property. She went out of her way to help me find a room and really went above and beyond. The management was also very accommodating, which seems pretty hard to find these days. They obviously know the importance of customer service and have trained their team members according.

  • Aug 01, 2023 by Daniel P

This motel is conveniently located near the connecting roads that lead to Padre Island and Port Aransas. There are plenty of eating places close by too. It's an older motel, but clean. The room we stayed in had a big spider near the door on the wall. Being two male friends staying in the room, we didn't bother it and it didn't bother us for the two nights we spent there, lol!

  • Jul 01, 2023 by DreamingofTravel23

Was upset to discover that this is not a hotel. Checkin was ok but the lady seemed like she didn’t want to be bothered. Internet so so slow. Felt unsafe due to large number of men staying at hotel. They looked like workers, but they were always hanging around the staircases and balconies. Felt afraid to leave our room with no men in our party. They were noisy past 1 AM making it difficult to sleep. Bed was comfortable but pillows were small and uncomfortable. Room smelled like air freshener covering up smoke. Shower faucet didn’t work properly. Didn’t eat breakfast. Parking was so tight with the large trucks and work vans that I almost could not get out of the parking lot.

  • Jul 01, 2023 by Joy B

A little disappointing that this was actually a motel with the doors on the outside. Felt very uneasy going to my vehicle and back to my room with men hanging out everywhere, seeing exactly which room we went into. They seemed to be construction workers/painters?? The room itself was nice with the exception of the large gap where the door was. The shower also didn’t work correctly. The water came out of the faucet at full sped and yet still came out of the shower head which kept the tub pretty full of water. The room was nice and cool. AC worked great. Room was clean. Vaulted ceilings were pretty. Didn’t eat breakfast.

Booked a king suite with a sofa bed. Sofa bed was broken and they brought up 2 cots for my kids. The cots were rusty and the mattresses were dirty and probably older than me. Still had to pay full price for a room that was not as advertised. Property is old and run down. Will never stay here again

  • Jun 02, 2023 by Helen P.

Just stayed one night, but everything was great. Starting with Holly at the front desk who was so pleasant and helpful. The room was just what we needed - a big comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. I always appreciate having a fridge and microwave, and the clothesline in the bathroom was very handy. Our dog was allowed to join us without a fuss (just a small fee). We enjoyed the sparkling clear pool a couple of times. Breakfast had a large selection of choices, including assemble-your-own breakfast tacos, waffles, cereals, yogurt, bagels and muffins; and the coffee was delicious. Definitely on our repeat list when at the coast.

  • Jun 01, 2023 by martinezranchtx

Employees were professional. They explained what the hotel has to offer.. Beds were comfortable and room were clean. Breakfast experience was delicious. The hotel provides you with the best breakfast. I loved the Texas shaped waffles. The scrambled eggs, sausage Pattie’s, and diced potatoes were out of this world. I am not a coffee drinker but the coffee had a wonderful aroma. We stayed at this hotel for Three (3) nights. Best rest we ever received at a hotel. We plan to come back when we are in this area.

First timers wanting to try this BW vs AirBNB. We reserved a room requested the furthest area from foot traffic/stairwell ... ppl... lol came in to find out that we can't ask about the military discount without having to fidget with the monitor and somehow get a response with our room "It is no longer available". How in the hecks did it disappear moments after you went clicking clack on the computer? I wanted to sleep so we stayed in the closest room to the maintenances area, room 101 which was next to the faucet that fills the mop bucket, businesses laundry area (not for the customers) - total 180 of what was initially requested. "No other room available" "nothing more I could do" no discount offered or accommodations. Cherry on top, besides all the noise heard, power went out around 0400 with no word on when it would return and we could hear it ALL. I understand bfast prep being needed, but i don't think she had ever been in this situation and wasn't sure how to obtain this info I requested. Other than that, their pool was nice and clean, safe family friendly area. It seemed to be monitored city police ‍ 2 Ev stations 1 gated pool area Several picnic tables and nice foliage

  • Apr 01, 2023 by lmdooley

The hotel is conveniently located right off the bridge, clean & updated. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, second stay there, will go back. Dog friendly is also a plus. Breakfast selection was very nice and food was hot & fresh.

Hotel is in a great location with easy access to Corpus Christi and the National Preserve on Padre Island. This is set up like the old motels with your door access from the outside near the parking lot. Room smelled damp and musty, but was clean.

  • Feb 25, 2023 by Steve W.

This hotel was built in 1998 and has been fairly well maintained considering the harsh salty environment and the occasional hurricane. This hotel is not near any beachfront property, but you can see that bay from afar. It is strategically located right on S. Padre Island Drive which links Corpus Christi to Padre Island. It is a two-story structure with no elevator so you'll have to lug your bags up to the second floor. The first floor units all have ceramic tile, but the second floor units are carpeted and most rooms upstairs have vaulted ceilings with fans. This is a pet friendly hotel and I was surprised to see 2 EV charging stations. We did peel back the sheets and discovered there was no stains on the mattress or covers. Breakfast is usually nothing special at all the Best Westerns, but there is a Starbucks next door. All rooms come with a mini fridge, microwave, and a coffee station. On the property is a small unheated pool and some picnic tables with a couple of grills. The bathroom was clean without any mold and the water was hot. A Thurs+Friday stay was $279 all things added together in late Feb. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating.

  • Jan 01, 2023 by jnelly1252023

The location is pretty good with some water views from the balcony and is reasonably priced. The rooms are very outdated and smelled musty, but the kicker was finding a grasshopper in our sink and dead cockroaches on our bathroom floor.

  • Nov 01, 2022 by Go826686

The hotel was clean, the staff was very accommodating and helpful when asked. Breakfast was good and the location was very quiet. The building is not in a particularly pretty place, and the entrance could be marked better. Note: the pet fee was $30 per night! A bit high in my opinion.

  • Nov 01, 2022 by kulkarnimilinds

Enjoyed stay. Great service. Value for money. Excellent breakfast. Very clean and quiet place for stay. Weather was also perfect. Received quick attention by the front desk. It was quick in and out. Highly recommend the place.

  • Nov 01, 2022 by PC0124

Best Western saved us when the electricity gave out at our Vacasa condo. Every employee was happy to be working there. They accepted our XL dogs without a problem and there is a nice big yard for the dogs right outside our door. Breakfast was excellent! You can tell that the kitchen employees are proud of their work. Also saw 2 EV charging stations there.

Highly recommend this best western the rooms were clean the staff was excellent and breakfast was adequate, location was perfect for what we stayed for, the pool is open until 10pm which is really nice for families! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!

Very clean rooms and grounds the staff was very friendly the breakfast was fantastic great selection and served till 10 AM. The location was perfect close by everything we wanted to do and see. Great view of the sunset very nice pool area and grassy area with grills and picnic benches.

  • Sep 01, 2022 by vaughan644

great location, great staff and good breakfast. really close to the beach and restaurants. hotel is well maintained. the a/c unit was louder than expected, bed is firm but comfortable. the pool was nice, a good way to cool off after a hot day at the beach. towels could be softer. If you fish, there are bait shops nearby and plenty of places to fish also. there is a gust laundry, it is small one washer and dry.

My husband and I had a pleasant one night stay at the BW Padre Island. We were celebrating our 36 wedding anniversary with time to go to the beach. The front office staff member Holly was pleasant, helpful and enjoyable to visit with (a nice change from many front staff who are not interested or come across as not interested in visiting with guests). Our room was clean and kudos to the cleaning staff. It is always pleasant to open a room and have a neat and tidy space when away from home.

  • Jun 01, 2022 by stinsonri

Needs elbow grease to clean up and get rid of odors. Mechanic needs to fix AC motor I don’t blame anyone in particular but the feel was no one seemed to care. The front desk girl shared a very strange story not worth repeating.

  • Jun 01, 2022 by Cannon116

I had the worst experience in my ENTIRE life at another hotel down the street. I left my hotel to go to the BW. The staff member was phenomenal!!!! She listened to me vent. She gave me the best price for a holiday weekend. She gave me extra towels. Walked me to my room. It was so clean. It smelled awesome. I loved the vaulted ceilings. It didn't have an elevator, but the stairs were nice. They were carpeted so no slipping with the humidity. Also there wasn't even spider webs outside!!!!!! This property was so clean! Thank you BW!!!

  • Jun 01, 2022 by phillipsdonna681

Love the pool and rooms there has been much improvement overall including the great breakfast and perfect location, had a great time memorial weekend! also the best location on the island was just a little noisy above our heads we were downstairs

  • Feb 01, 2022 by Dale B

I found old food had been left in the refrigerator from a previous guest. I question the cleanliness of the bedding, towels and shower after finding old food in the refrigerator. When I brought the garbage to the front desk, she simply apologized and did nothing more. I would have expected the hotel to offer a fresh cleaning and assurance everything had been cleaned.... but nothing more than "I'm sorry". Very disappointed in the cleanliness and the poor response.

  • Dec 01, 2021 by charlee8282

*No elevators* this is only a 2 story hotel. The suites are of course on the 2nd floor so be prepared to haul your luggage up 2 flights of stairs. We had the California King Suite...if your short 5'2" like me I had to use the bench at the end of the bed to get in the bed. This suite also has a 2 burner glass top stove, full size fridge and coffee pot. Be prepared...There are NO cooking essentials or eating essentials you have to bring your own. We look for these type hotels because we get tired of fast food all the time! This hotel is close to padre national seashore, mustang island and padre balli seashore to get in these parks it's $10.00 per day per vehicle and since its the end of the year we couldn't buy the year pass:/ All of those parks have very nice clean white sand…

  • Oct 01, 2021 by Mspicer54

Great value for the money. Convenient to fishing spots especially Packery Channel. You can take backroad to Port Aransas and avoid waiting lines at Ferry. Exceptional customer service. Will stay here again.

  • Oct 01, 2021 by Ben C

Needed a clean comfortable room for a weekend at the beach. Room was just what I needed. The breakfast was excellent, if you got to the eggs early enough. Great room to cool off, clean up, and rest. Hopefully the city can help with the egress issue (can only turn right).

  • Sep 04, 2021 by Gary H.

Pros- Friendly staff Clean rooms Free breakfast Pet Friendly Cons- Toilet handle was broken whole stay. Phone didn't work.. Outside needed clean up & grass cut. Being well traveled I don't stay at Best Westerns very much however, it's a great bang for your buck. It has all the essentials you need to include a couch, table & chairs, refrigerator and microwave and free breakfast which BTW, Grand Hyatt in San Antonio doesn't give you breakfast or a microwave. The staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs mostly, ill explain later, the rooms are outdated but clean But the outside grounds could use a good cleaning. Nice clean pool and area. The only bad things were that the handle on our toilet was broken and they never did come to fix it our whole stay, we had to reach into the tank and flush the toilet by pulling the chain and our room phone did not work and this is why they are getting 2 stars. Bottom line- decent bang for your buck.

  • Sep 01, 2021 by kdaniel2021

This hotel was overpriced and unkept. The grounds and exterior are run down. The interior is not clean. The AC either works or is very loud. We stayed in a suite and the room had not been cleaned. The bed made, but the floors and bathroom were disgusting. This was unexpected of a Best Western. Stay in Corpus and drive 10 minutes to the beach for half the price and clean rooms.

  • Sep 01, 2021 by beth711smith

Although they allow pets the pet fee of 30 per day is ridiculous. Staff at check in were not friendly. The room wasn't ready until and a half and half past check in time. Beds are very high in "suites". Shari is very friendly! She's the only reason we would consider coming back.

  • Aug 01, 2021 by kwilliams20192021

Would not stay here again. The only good thing about this place is the location. Room smelled extremely musty and walls are very thin so you can here other people's conversations. Pool wasn't very inviting either. Will try a beach condo next trip.

Nice Hotel, Breakfast was delicious. Beautiful Sunsets.Room was comfortable.Oh Yes and they is a Starbucks. In walking distance. In the evening you would hear

  • Jul 01, 2021 by Y3057GFstephanie

Upon arrival I noticed there was only one towel for a room for 3 people. I went to the front desk to get more and the lady acted like I was trying to steal towels. It was a fight everyday to get 3 towels for a family of 3. The room smelled like mold and there was mildew throughout the bathroom. There was a large gap around the door that let in bugs. The AC couldn't keep up with the heat and was completely turned off when I got to the room. The heat index was 110 so this was unacceptable.

  • Jul 01, 2021 by PJ

The rooms were nice and clean. The hotel staff was great, especially housekeeping. Mustang Island and other beaches are a very short drive away. Great location, close to restaurants. Downtown CC, USS Lexington and Texas State Aqaurium is approx. 30 minute drive. Would stay here again.

  • Jun 01, 2021 by HappySoloCamper

Lovely hotel with water views. Room was spacious and clean. Only complaint would be all the mosquitoes in the room, but it's at the beach, what can you say. Parking was a bit tight for our truck and pop-up camper. Seemed fine for the average vehicle

  • May 17, 2021 by Ryan M.

My father and I spent one night here on a recent trip to Padre Island. We've had mostly good to great experiences with Best Westerns throughout the years, and this location was no different. Aside from an odd experience at breakfast (more on that below), we enjoyed our stay. This location is an older motel, as evidenced by the doors accessible from the parking lot. I point this out because the photos displayed on Best Western's website are misleading; they show a newer design with doors accessible from within the motel. I'm not sure if this is intentionally false advertising, but it's something worth nothing. For security reasons, we would have preferred the newer design. After all, beach hobos are far less likely to loiter inside a motel than outside. But I digress; not one dirty beach hobo accosted us during our stay. Best Western should use that last line as a customer quote on their website. The room was clean and appeared to have been remodeled recently with tile floors (much cleaner and easier to maintain that carpet), comfortable beds, and a bathroom devoid of mold, bodily fluids, and short and curlies. The WiFi signal was strong enough for me to upload video clips to Yelp and to connect my New 3DS XL to the Nintendo eShop. The latter device's WiFi receiver is notoriously finicky away from my router, so I was impressed by how quickly it connected at this motel. If I had to gripe, I would say the desk needed more power outlets and at least one USB input, but I made do with the wall outlets nearby. The complimentary breakfast was nothing fancy -- just the usual chain motel assortment of powdered scrambled eggs, flaccid bacon, fruit juices, cold cereals, breads, and a waffle iron station -- but the surfaces were immaculate. Our Belgian waffles and juices were just enough to tide us over before our gluttonous feast at The King's Inn (see my review) later that day. My only quibble was when the staff roped off the breakfast area and began placing chairs atop tables as I was still eating. I guess breakfast ends promptly at 9:30 regardless of the circumstances. I didn't appreciate being made to feel rushed. If only the staff had exhibited some tact. They could have strapped on long white beards, pulled up a chair, stared at me, and tapped their fingers on the table as I sipped my apple juice. Having never stayed elsewhere on Padre Island, I am wholly unqualified to compare this place against other nearby lodgings. Despite my misgivings with the staff at breakfast, though, my father and were satisfied with our stay. Perhaps the rooms are a tad overpriced, but that's likely due to the motel's close proximity to the beach. Incidentally, a flock of seagulls flew past our door as I was listening to "(It's Not Me) Talking" by A Flock of Seagulls. I realize that comment is irrelevant to this review, but where else am I ever going to mention that?

  • May 01, 2021 by jessefish83

Very nice view and very close to the beach. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Parking can be a little bit of a problem if your not back by dusk as far as parking in front of your room but not to bad. Other than that really enjoyed our stay worth the family. My family's new fav spot.

  • Apr 01, 2021 by DL2Some

We were in San Antonio and decided to head to Padre Island for a couple of days. Chose this hotel based on reviews and photos, which were generally accurate. Our room was large with a comfortable bed, but the upkeep is a bit lacking - plaster hanging in the bathroom, cracked sink. COVID-19 protocols in place and strictly enforced. Breakfast was excellent with various hot choices each day. Appeared to be one of the nicer options in the area.

  • Mar 01, 2021 by txmamma69

The suite was a great size but restroom a little small. The staff was not friendly; there was a random car parked two cars away from mine and the people in it were smoking pot. I heard the guest next to our room snore all night (thin walls).

This was my third stay here, and the rooms have been remodeled since my last stay 2 years ago. Its a great spot located close to all the best beaches in the area at a good price. Be sure to bring a can of off because the mosquitos can be annoying if you get close to stagnant water.

This was our 4th stay here within the past 9 months. We have always had a great experience even in the midst of Covid the staff and hotel have been accommodating. The rooms have always been clean upon our arrival, friendly and helpful staff. This was our first trip where breakfast was available and it was great! Hot and fresh with lots of options for my family if 5! We will definitely be back!

We paid $44 a night but were shocked when we saw how much it was normally (I’m glad it was this cheap during COVID). If the room were $100 we would have left. Huge gap in the doors, people were loud like a motel crowd, faculties team didn’t wear mask when we saw them cleaning rooms which is NOT best practice.

Not all Best Westerns are created equal. We got a suite thinking it was going to be a step up to your standard room but it was just lipstick on a pig. The counters and fixtures were updated but the walls were stained and very thin. Our neighbors had two very loud dogs that disturbed our stay. The hotel granted our request to move to another room but it was much smaller and we were not offered a discount. The staff was not very friendly or helpful and seemed to be inconvenienced by our requests. The pool didn't seem very chlorinated which was a high concern due to hygiene and the current health situation. Breakfast was a joke. Only grab and go which is totally fine but the "breakfast" you got was a Rice Krispie treat and an old orange. Hard pass. We booked this hotel because of its proximity to Port Aransas and PI National Seashore, but I rather stay somewhere else next trip.

Spent 3 nights here. Check in was easy. My son enjoyed the pool and we like the convenience to the different beaches. However, the toilet started leaking the second day, when we came back the dirty towels that were used to clean the mess were still on the floor. The issue was fixed but seeing soiled towels wasn't what I expected.

Very nice to be back to Best Western Padre Island! The room was clean and a/c worked like a champ! Staff was great, very conscientious about Corona and social distancing. The place was packed which is so nice to see!

Only try to fish the bay during the week. Great place to stay, close to public ramp, restaurants and the island. Pool is inviting. Rooms are comfortable and clean. If your looking for the ritz, this ain’t it, but I only require a bed and bath.

Great rooms, great beds, awesome employees, great internet and great pool!!! The location is perfect. Near many restaurant, the water park and amazing souvenir shops. Tons to do like round golf, horse back riding, will surfing, hiking&swi.ming. even rent your own golf cart.

Staff is very friendly and good breakfast. The rooms were very clean, beds were very comfortable. Only downfall was that there were too many guest for only one small waffle maker. Family is planning on revisiting again!

Best place to stay for the price. From walking out the door and seeing the ocean to free breakfast with so many options. Super friendly staff. Also the rooms are huge compared to other places i have stayed

I really hate giving this hotel a high rating since they will become popular. But really this Best Western deserves a high rating due to the location and pleasant beach surroundings. The staff are excellent and very hospitable. The morning breakfast was delicious and more than I expected. I hope they remain the same as I’d like to stay again. High kudos

Great place for our quick trip to the coast. No issues during the stay and they were fantastic with our furry travel companion.. We will definitely be back and stay at a Best Western...La Quinta messed up our reservation, so we stayed here....Good Choice!

We chose this hotel for our family over Thanksgiving weekend, primarily because of its location and the fact that it permits dogs in some rooms. The reviews are correct - while an older style motel with outside-facing doors, the room was very clean with tile or laminate, and the beds were comfy. The location is also super convenient for a day at the beach, and to restaurants and shops. The off-season price was also very reasonable, and the breakfast was the typical fair, but adequate and tidy. We would definitely come back given all of this. The one thing that I can say was off-putting was a strong smell in the lobby and breakfast room, which I couldn’t identify as cleaner, air freshener or insecticide - but it was a chemical smell, which was strong both during check-in and…

The room was exceptionally clean and the noise level was Awesome!! I knew that most hotels offer dougnuts and such for breakfast but Best Western went all the way with a Huge Buffet and it was acyually really good!

  • Oct 01, 2019 by Christie Lopanec

Clean inside and out, great breakfast, better than most places, changes daily fresh fruit. couple of miles to the beach, bay view is kind of a stretch as far as view. Was competitive in pricing on Saturday but sunday night seemed high compared to other options

  • Sep 01, 2019 by Venture73443

Right when we walked into the room there was no smells and the appearance was really nice. The best thing of all NO CARPET. No Pets Allowed there is a $200 fine which is great for those with allergies. This room was really clean! I looked every where and could not find anything wrong with it. I normally will not even sit on the sofa but everything was so clean that I had no problem sitting on the sofa this time. We will be staying here when we come back again.

  • Sep 01, 2019 by Doug K

We were surprised at how clean the room was, both when we came in and the next day after maid service. Everything in the room looked new or really well maintained. It was a good stay and we would go back again.

  • Sep 01, 2019 by Helen F

Customer service is fair, rooms are not very clean and the food is poor. We had to request to have our room cleaned and we were told it was marked clean. When they did clean it was partially done, they left trash cans full, did not refill the toilet paper or replace missing light bulbs. Dear Helen F, Thank you for taking time to review your recent stay with us. We would like to apologize that we did not exceed expectations. All feedback is sincerely appreciated, as we will implement positive changes to enhance all guests experience when they stay with us. It's a motel on the SPI itself. Rooms clean , a bit cramped. Vinyl? floor which is good. pet friendly. Housekeeping is great. Front desk gracious enough to have us check the rooms first as the first room they gave us, the AC was very noisy. Pricey but then location cannot be beat. Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay. We value all feedback given. We hope if your ever in the area you’ll choose to stay with us again. August 24-29 I booked a 5 day stay at this location to visit my son and his family. I was unaware that both BW were located on the same road 10 minutes apart. This location was situated much further away and did not present the first site curb appeal that BW usually displays, however they quickly redeemed themselves with the room decor. There was a bug on the ceiling above the shower which which knocked that point down again. I’m taking in to account the location is closest to the water. There was a heavy drilling noise overheard on the other side of the wall well after 11pm. Maybe because it was Saturday nite

  • Aug 01, 2019 by Csbrown57

Pros - great location, free breakfast. Cons - very hard mattresses, dim lighting in rooms even with all lights on, housekeeping did not service room after do not disturb sign removed (don't try to sleep in or you're out of luck). Dear Brad and Family, Thank you for taking time to review your recent stay with us. We would like to apologize that we did not exceed all expectations. I really wanted to like this place. I really did, but then I got there. No one is at the front desk when I show up, so I'm like "hello? I want to pay you money?!?...". I walk back out look around go grab a bite to eat with the kids and figure "I hope they are there when we get back." I come back an hour later and yay! Someone is home! I get checked in and then pull around to the back. Then I'm like W...T...F... did I check into the motel 6? Because this isn't a hotel, this is a motel. Outside entry rooms, overflowing trash cans, unfinished paving and a lovely odor of rotting trash wafting in the breeze. For $200 a night I thought I might at least get a floor mat or something, but no. Well, let's make the best of it, right? We go into the room. It's clean, so I'll definitely give them that. Then the details... the pillows are literally 13 inches by 13 inches square. I'm like, what alternative universe am I in that pillows are square? And where does one find square pillows, and do they even sell square pillow cases? Mind blown... I go to the front desk and ask for more pillows and it's like the Seinfeld episode with the soup Nazi. "How many pillows you need?" 'Well your pillows are tiny so 4 more?' "NO PILLOWS FOR YOU!" Ok so it wasn't that bad, but it was a bargaining process and I came out with 3 pillows so I dealt with it.... so me and the kids start to settle in, I decide to put my bag I. The closet, but the closet door isn't attached... to anything... at all... in fact it's just resting there pretending to be a door when it's actually just a piece of annoying 6 foot particle board and paper painted white in the way of my bags ultimate destiny! So I push the unattached piece of kindling to the side and put my bag out of the way. We try to turn the TV on, but the remote looks like a 1986 Nintendo controller and only works if you blow on it or bang it on the desk a few times. "Kids, let's go to the pool". We walk across the parking lot from our motel to the pool. It's actually a pretty cool pool, with plenty of seating, cabanas and tons of crabs in the pool that love to run across your toes. Yeah, they are still alive, (and very active, might i add). My daughter does her best to walk on water after a crab crawls on her and I remind her "only Jesus can do that" as I use the readily available pool net to remove the intruders. Speaking of intruders, on our 4 different trips to this pool, cars would pull up, and 8 people would pile out and get in the pool. At first I was like "great other kids are staying here!" Then I realized that everyone knows you can simply park at the BW and hop in the pool no matter where you are staying. It's apparently a public pool! I still can't figure out why I paid for a hotel with a loom when I could have saved 50bucks a night and simply driven two minutes and used the Best Western Public Pool! Smart savvy people out there, I tell ya! The breakfast was good, so I'll definitely give them credit for that. Bottom line is they charge way too much for a Motel 8 style with a public pool. But we got free breakfast! And tiny pillows! Never coming back

Loved it here. Clean rooms, excellent full breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, yogurt, fruit, I believe there was cereal too, big king size room with love seat in it. Quiet . Friendly staff. 5 minutes to the beach. Nice pool. You won't go wrong staying here.

The hotel was nice & clean. We had a pipe that was misting water into our closet making our clothes wet but they did get it fixed. We were told we would be well compensated. With a $451 stay, we were only compensated $60 for our trouble. I was happy that we received some sort of compensation but it was far from what I would call “well compensated”. The biggest issue was that the bill ended up not matching our reservation. Fortunately, I still had the reservation confirmation email on my phone. When I checked out, they had charged us $618 but our total was only supposed to be $451. Just shows that you REALLY need to check your bill & always make sure you have your confirmation on you (physically or electronically).

We had a King room. Everything was clean. Room smelled so wonderful and the a.c. blew ice cold. Our mini fridge worked really well. I loved having a tub in the bathroom, with very hot water. The breakfast buffet was so fabulous! Great food, good coffee, delicious pastries and cups of yogurt. We're definitely staying here again.

This was our first trip to Padre Island and we chose to stay at the Best Western. From traveling with my family as a kid to Colorado and Florida, I've always had good experiences with Best Westerns. I think the price (an April "holiday" weekend visit) was good considering we were on Padre Island and in between Padre Island National Seashore and Mustang Island. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice, clean and comfortable with the standard amenities provided. A/C worked well, but we visited during April which gave us ~70/80* weather. The breakfast provided in the morning is standard with eggs, bacon (and more), cereals, baked goods, fruits and yogurts, juice, coffee, milk, etc. I would recommend to friends and family that might be making the trip.…

We made a very late reservation and arrival (about 3 am) after problems at the Days Inn (roaches). Hotel rooms were in short supply. Hayden, who was fast, professional, and friendly was on duty that night and quickly found the reservation which I had made directly with Best Western. He selected a room and provided key cards. We quietly moved our bags into the room. No problems. I took a quick look at the breakfast area and it was spotless. The next evening we tried to turn on the TV but could not find the remote. I went to the desk and requested a TV remote. Sandra said she wanted to test the batteries to be sure it would work and would bring one down to the room right away. In less than 2 minutes she arrived and provided a working TV remote. She was very helpful,…

I was excited about my 1st stay at the Padre Island! The pricing of the rooms were on the high side, so expectations were high. The room was average at best. This hotel is located just off the bridge and highway on Padre island. This was a safe spot to say with lovely sunsets and birdlife all around. Check in staff were warm and very friendly, lots of parking spaces. The room we had was on the second floor it was clean and comfortable but the table with two chairs needed replacing in our room. Close to Corpus Christi just a short drive over the bridge and we drove to Mustang Island and the Ferry to Port Aransas and the road back to Corpus Christi.

  • Feb 01, 2019 by ניק ס

I'm not entirely sure why there are so many negative reviews of this place. Its located on the highway but the hotel owns a former restaurant pad-site in front of it which they have turned into a garden with palms and other trees -- so view of the highway is obscured and I did not notice any sound from either of our second floor rooms. The rooms have been recently renovated and are clean and in good repair. The parking lot is very well illuminated. Staff are very friendly and helpful. My bed was comfortable -- I believe the mattress was also new. The lobby and breakfast was standard continental items -- toast, sausage, egg, juice, pastries. The location is very convenient to Padre Island, the Mall and other commercial shopping areas -- and only minutes from downtown. …

This is really a nice place! The breakfast is GREAT, it's in a central location, rooms are comfortable and clean. Close to beaches, shops, restaurants. If you have dogs, there's lots of thorns in the fields surrounding the place. The way that Padre Island configured traffic needs some work, because you are continually make U-turns to get places, but oh well. We are here in off season so can only imagine how fun it is in the summer.

Excellent stay. Front desk was superb. Room was remodeled, roomy, and quite comfortable. We had no issues. Morning breakfast was good. Saundra was tending to the desk and ensuring all guest had what they needed. She went out of the way to ensure we were satisfied. Additionally, and often hard to find, but Saundra clearly enjoyed her job and supporting BW to ensure their guest had no complaints. One must truly be loyal to their place of employment and that like a smile goes a long way. Great job, BW....

Location at the moment is inconvenient with nothing within walking distance on a main highway with no sidewalk, however they have great rates, comfortable clean beds, and a good, hot breakfast. I very much recommend it for a value, pet friendly motel.

My wife and I went down for two days to fish and relax. We did both. Its proximity to a prime fishing spot like the packery channel and bait shops is the best in the area. The view was great! The best part about this little hotel was the staff. May was the head housekeeper and she was super Nice. As i passed buy she told me good morning and good luck fishing. As I went to my truck i passed two more ladies and they said the same thing. The lady at the front desk was also just awesome. I will definitely put this hotel at the top of my list when I go back. Thanks yall!

This hotel is just a 5 minute drive to the beach, if that. The doors face the southwest so plan to have the air conditioner on starting around 3. It is right off the highway after coming over the bridge on to the island. Make sure and get an upstairs room! It has a ceiling fan, a great view and never hear anyone above you. Nice and cold air conditioners, head index was 110 outside but wind chill was 36 in our room. Haha. I know what you're gonna say, but the pizza joint across the road is super good. The hotel has a nice selection of a continental breakfast. There are eggs, Canadian bacon, biscuits and gravy, waffles and syrup, cereals, coffee, donuts, bagels, toast, cream cheese, peanut butter, yogurt and I believe some fruit. Stayed here from July 9th to the 13th. Had a great time. Breakfast wasn't too bad, it had everything that we needed to eat. We enjoyed the stone floors on the first floor and the pool was nice and clean! Didn't have any noise issues! They were doing renovations so there were not any nightstands but that didn't really impact our stay. Fridge worked fine but didn't try out the microwave. The ladies working the front desk were very friendly and greeted us each morning as we got breakfast. We did have a roach in our room one night but it's expected with the summer heat and mugginess. Overall a great bang for our buck as it was much cheaper than the hotels on the island! Will most likely stay again!

  • Jul 11, 2018 by Vertie A.

We had a horrible experience. This place is loud! You can hear the plumbing from all the other rooms. The sheets are scratchy. Our room was never cleaned. The front desk person claimed they were short staffed but the cleaning crew was right outside our door when we left for the beach that morning. We did not have a do not disturb sign out. Breakfast was so unappetizing that we ate out both mornings we were there.

State a couple nights at the Best Western to get away from the Heat. Surprisingly quiet despite it being completely sold out. As we checked in others were coming up thinking that the room was available but literally they were completely sold out. Adjustments have been made and they are still recovering from the hurricane two years ago. Pool is clean and the breakfast is decent with typical muffins breads Etc. If you get the second floor you can get a decent view of the Bay. Putt putt golf and HEB supermarket is about 2 miles away. There's a CVS Pharmacy down the street. Parking is adequate as a lot of Big Texas style trucks park here. The queen side bed was very comfortable but not enough soaps and toilet paper so you might have to call housekeeping. Overall better than I…

Ok let's start from the beginning when I actually thought this hotel was going to be great...... started off with a couple calls to the hotel front desk where I spoke with a very nice young lady who lives on island. We talked about early check in and late check out times and I told her I would call back regarding booking..I couple hours later I called back to book and she asked me about being members or triple a members and she said she got us a great rate of $108 a night, I said wow that's good, what about taxes? She says that's included! She then said yes it's a good rate considering it's peak season and rates are normally 170 a night. I agreed what a great rate, she went over personal info and got my credit card info and confirmed the nights and we were done. I waited for a confirmation email but did not receive one, so I called back 2 more times to request one and never got one that night. I called the 800 number and they stated the reservation was there but couldn't send the email only the hotel could... but that my rate was different... I said must have been a mistake and I'd call the hotel in the morning since it was 10pm at this time. Next morning I call the hotel to get the email sent and to get the rate fixed, the girl who answers gets the email sent which I get and I ask her about the rate she sag no matter what was said the rate is the 170 rate..... I ask her to speak with a manager she states she is the front desk manager.... I ask her if the calls are recorded and she states yes, so o ask her to listen to the call and have herself or her boss contact me.... 1 hour later a man named KD or KB calls me saying he is the general manager and starts rambling off how the hotel never in its 20 yrs offered a rate of $108 a night and wouldn't be able to stay in business if it did..I allow him to continue his ramble and state that's not the point... and then I ask him if he listened to the call, he says their calls aren't recorded... I asked then why did your manager state that they were?!?! He then gets defensive (mind you I haven't even gotten upset or raised my voice once) and he says I'm not going to get into it with what was said... I'm trying to fix this... oh great, how can we fix this I say...... he says well at this point it doesn't sound like you'll be happy here and we should look at butting you at another hotel?!? Now I'm like wth?!?!? He says he doesn't think I'll enjoying staying there?!? How would he know... plus he never offered an apology or any way to "fix" the issue... he says maybe you should just call corporate .... at this point I'm at a lose of words and say yah I think that's best and Hang up... well turns out this is the OWNER of this best western and guess what else he CANCELED my reservation without my knowledge and didn't even send an email or anything telling me that when I arrive in a few hours I won't have a hotel to stay at!!!!!!!!! I contact best western who tell me this little bit of information which had they not this could have really been a big issues... Do not stay at this hotel! Stay in a condo or anywhere else... someone that owns a location like this and treats his customers the way he did should not be running a business! Never once did I expect the 108 rate once it was confirmed that it was incorrect... what I wanted was the rate that I got online that was cheaper than what I booked at.... but not once did he listen or even offer to help.... sooo $10 a night just cost you a customer, bad reviews, and referrals

Had a fantastic time here, the staff was awesome and the property was clean and neat. The downfall was the breakfast area when it is busy, very congested and poorly laid out. The upside is the staff, they were the nicest and most friendliest that we have seen on this trip, Thank you!!!

  • May 01, 2018 by Judy W

Best western was great. Rooms were clean. Shampoo/conditioner a little small for 2 people but not that big of a deal. Decent breakfast. Pool was clean and always empty. The room price was very affordable.

I first would like to apologize for all the issues encountered as I feel there were so many misunderstandings. We take fault for the $108 rate that was quoted, it was our teams responsibility during the phone call to state which days had that price as the daily rate, and confirm rates for each day. We apologize that the emails were not received promptly, as it’s very possible it was our computer issue. The front desk manager is aware we do not record phone calls, if she stated we did I truly am sorry, that is not standard for us as it’s against the law to record phone conversations without consent. I take full responsibility for the cancellation of your reservation. On our phone conversation it was stated you were no longer coming to Corpus Christi. I apologize for the misunderstand and making assumptions based on that statement that you would want me to cancel the reservation. We do not want our guest to feel as though they are unwelcome or receive horrible customer service, even potential guest who choose not to stay with us. I assure you re-training and reiterating policies to our staff are underway. We take this circumstance to really learn the things as a team and individually how we can make the customer service better for our guests; as in the future we will do mandatory re-caps of reservations with daily rates and totals. On behalf of the team and myself we sincerely apologize for all the misunderstandings that took place. We wish you safe travels in the future!

This is the best experience at all of the Best Western hotels. I will stay again and again. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The rooms were fantastic The food was great. The location was perfect.

We have been going for years and they always take fantastic care of us. Anytime we have any question or concerns they are met with a friendly and respectful answer. Our pets join us and enjoy the hotel as much as we do.

This hotel is on Padre Island. We love to stay here because it is so close to the National Seashore. The bottom rooms seem to be recently updated from when we stayed a few years before. The room we had was nice and clean. The only complaint would be there is missing light bulbs in the lamps. Only two had bulbs. I thought that they just kept them out to keep the electricity low, but when we checked out, the manager said that someone must have "stolen" the light bulbs. We did not eat the breakfast, but the coffee was good.

The staff was new and was not very knowledgeable about the rewards program. However they were training on the programs and trying to get better. They were also polite during the process. For me, politeness goes along way. The facility was clean. The breakfast was the same BW breakfast. No excitement there. Overall nice, clean hotel.

  • Apr 01, 2018 by chriswilly2018

The hotel was cleaner than expected and the rooms were nice on the inside. Nice location, close to the beach and many good places to eat. The landscaping around the building and the pool area is a little bland and boring but overall was a nice place to stay for the rate and location.

  • Apr 01, 2018 by 99runner

This hotel was located shortly after reaching Padre Island. We enjoyed ocean views from our nicely decorated vaulted & spacious room. Nice hotel, great breakfast and good service. The pool was very well maintained with large towels available at the front desk. I would return.

I'm sure this would have been a better experience if construction wasn't underway. When we 1st arrived, the toilet seat wasn't attached to the bowl, did get moved to another room, but other people's hair ties were in the restroom,so not sure how if staff is cleaning the rooms properly. Thank you yellagyrl20 for taking time to review and share your recent stay with us. We do apologize for all issues encountered during your stay. We do awknowledge the construction put a damper on your stay, as we also hoped it would be finished. Unfortunately due to hurricane Harvey and all the people and business affected construction is taking longer. To all guests we assure you we are trying to push construction along without compromising the integrity of the repairs. We appreciate bringing attention to us the issues encountered in the restroom, we will definitely be following up with housekeeping on this matter. We value all of your feedback, and we hope if you’re ever in the area again that we would have the opportunity to make a better impression. Thank you again and safe travels.

Great place for the price, but needs work. First off they didn't have extra blankets and I had to go buy one. Second the bathroom showers and toilets whined when used. Kept us up on n off all night. Our shower barley worked and last the pool was dirty and cold. The website did not say seasonal pool. djbjconstruction thank you for taking time to share your recent stay with us. We appreciate all feedback, as it will enable us to become better and provide an even better service to our guests. We sincerely apologize for all issues encountered during your stay with us. We definitely encourage all guests to notify the front desk of any issues so that the team can rectify any and all issues. We apologize that there were no additional blankets available and the sleepless night you experienced due to the noise of the piping. Please rest assure all of these issues will be looked into and resolved within a timely manner, We appreciate your time and feedback. We hope if you're ever in the area you'll choose to stay with us, Thank you and safe travels!

While the rooms are going through an update, there are still things they need to work on. The drier did not work but they were kind enough to let us use theirs. The chair in our room needs to be changed and there should be 2. The table had a bad leg. The front desk during the day was helpful but the night guy was not. Overall it was ok. Coffee was pretty bad. Ok breakfast

Picked this hotel for a one night quick visit due to location being near the beaches and not far from town. The other hotels in this area still had a lot of renovations in process based on reviews. Stayed in one of the upper floors away from the main road as I had read could me lots of road noise. Room was very clean and comfortable. Service was good and Breakfast room very clean and a nice selection of food. We had right when the opened at 6 as we wanted to go down and see the sunrise on the beach.

Generally good. Heater did not work for such a cold night. Did not get good sleep before getting on board with a fishing guide at 6:300 AM. It was tiring to fish all day and then take a long dive back home. It may have been better for me to drive there to arrive at 6:30 AM than to try to get a good night sleep in a cold room. jimfS2200CF on behalf of the entire team here at Best Western Padre Island we are sincerely sorry that your stay was not up to standards. We would like to apologize for this also interfering with your festivities while visiting North Padre Island. We appreciate all of your feedback, and take this as a learning lesson for how we can continue to improve. We are certainly looking into all the heaters to assure they work properly while this winter weather is upon us. We hope in the future you would give us another chance to make the impression of the high standards we want to uphold for our guests. Safe travels.

Best Western was clean, friendly and convenient for our Beach Birthday Celebration. The pool was cool and relaxing. Padre Island is a very friendly place and it looks like we will be coming back to Best Western.

  • Oct 01, 2017 by preasv

We took are grandsons for a five day trip to Padre. The hotel was nice inside and out. housekeeping did a great job cleaning up the sand we tracked in from the beaches. The pool was clean and the pool area was nice. Very nice stay and a good value.

We stayed here with some friends a few weeks ago. Great location between Corpus and Port A. Great breakfast. Rooms were nice and clean. Management very accommodating. We are going to start spending more time fishing and this will be the place we stay.

  • Oct 01, 2017 by GAYE P

We had a wonderful 3 nights. It was a great location. Corpus was just across the causeway and Port Aransas could be reached without taking the ferry. Great restaurants close by. The staff was great professional and helpful, Very good breakfast.

  • Oct 01, 2017 by 641territ

Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean and comfortable. Great location. Half way between Corpus Christi and Port Aransas so we didn't spend a lot of time driving. With Port A still in the process of clean up from Harvey it was nice to be able to go down and spend time on the beach and spend some tourist $'s to help them get back on their feet. I would stay here again.

  • Aug 01, 2017 by 450joys

If and when I come to Corpus Christi I will for sure book a room at Best Western Padre Island Facility and staff were great , the breakfast was good as any restaurant in town Check in and out was very easy and quick thanks to the staff Thanks and regards and hope to see you soon

We try to go to the North Padre Island or Port Aransas beach every summer. This was the first time we stayed at this hotel. Nice and clean, great location close to beaches, and good price compared to some other hotel options on North Padre Island. Thanks for a nice stay.

good location for beach access...rooms very nice...pool area and pool very clean...good lighting in parking area...nice staff...only problem was pool towels offered not available in pool area. Would recommend.

This is a very nice hotel. Great staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Minutes from the beach. Great nearby cuisine. Great for families. We will definitely return! The staff gave excellent recommendations for good beaches, shops, and restaurants. They were extremely helpful and even gave our car a jump when the battery died! Nice outdoor pool under the palm trees.

  • Jul 01, 2017 by Familyvacayfun

Everything from the beginning to the end of our stay was great! The hotel staff was great & went above & beyond. I highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed! The hotel even looks just like the pictures on the website, which is not always the case.

  • Jul 01, 2017 by 971valuedc

the staff was great and helpful. The breakfast was not bad. It had different options to choose from. I would rather have a room with carpet instead of tile, but I think hotels are starting to change to tile floors instead. It was a good location, not far from the beach.

  • Jul 01, 2017 by 155tessad

This hotel was easy to get to, right next to a park, and close to several public beaches. Although the hotel was not on the beach, it was in a good, quiet location, and the price was similar to that of hotels on the mainland. In general, a good solid hotel with a nice hearty breakfast and decent wifi.

This property is an astounding value for a stay on North Padre. Every employee we encountered during our 5 day stay was unfailingly polite and helpful. Room was clean and spacious - we had an upstairs double with vaulted ceiling which made the room seem even larger. Bedding was changed and beds made daily. Fresh towels and new shampoo/conditioner/soaps/lotions in place daily. Pool towels and any additional blankets or towels were immediately available from the front desk on request. This is a small property of about 40 rooms, all of which face the intercoastal waterway to the west, giving anyone interested in looking a fabulous sunset each evening. Immediately to the north sits Packery Channel, so the property is effectively bound by water on two sides, which gives a lovely…

If I was to go back to Corpus I will stay there again. leonorad748 thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. We are happy that the staff was able to assist you with any request. We are very sorry that the cleanest was not up to standard and we find this unacceptable. We absolutely encourage notification to the front desk and we will correct this issue immediately, as this is something you should not have to encounter. Thank you again for sharing your experience and hope you will visit us and North Padre Island in the future.

In our previous stay, we were mostly happy. Unfortunately, this time we had problems with our room rate when we checked in (higher than the BestWestern.com rate confirmed in email). Then they said they'd fix it "later." When we checked out the rate was not fixed. The front desk people couldn't do anything about it. So we had to wait 30 minutes for the manager to come to the hotel and fix the rate. We obviously didn't want to see if it would get fixed after we got home, since they had already not fixed it once. The room was full of mosquitos, so that the first night we had to kill at least 20. The room also smelled like smoke. On the upside, it wasn't very loud, just regular noises, such as hearing a baby cry on the other side of a connecting door. eilers78751 thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate all of your feedback and honesty. First and foremost we would like to apologize for the issues of the room rate and checkout encounter. We take full responsibility for the miscommunication on our end that resulted in a delay in your departure. We highly appreciated your patience during this situation, as we have had some staff changes and staff training taking place. We are very sorry for the mosquitos; unfortunately this issue has been city wide due to the recent weather conditions, rain, heat, and humidity causing the increased mosquito presence. We are trying to contain that situation following the city recommendations and additional pest control. Thank you for the loyalty you have shown us, we wish you and your family safe travels in the future.

Clean, well maintained, complimentary breakfast is a plus. Great location to access all the activities on "The Island" and to get back to the mainland for supplies etc... very helpful and reasonable too. Parking lot specifically for boat trailers is a plus. Thetumbleweed63 thank you for taking a moment to review your stay with us. We take great pride in our hotel and the amenities we can offer our guest. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and got to partake in activities here at North Padre Island-Corpus Christi. We hope you’ll visit North Padre Island again!

  • Jul 01, 2017 by 738mangald

Loud noises due to the hotel maintenance in the day time. Brocken arm chair was replaced immediately upon request. The room was changed upon request due to the noises from the maintenance crews, loud AC unit, and nonfunctional door lock. The staffs were helpful and listen to the guest complaint (important). Mosquitoes are very aggressive in the hotel premises. 738mangald thank you for sharing your experience with us, we appreciate all of your feedback. We do apologize for the loud noises from maintenance and the issues you experienced with the room. Currently we are making some upgrades and improvements to the hotel to better serve our guest and we very much appreciate the understanding while undergoing these changes. The mosquitos are awful at this time for us and all of Corpus Christi, as the weather has very much been inconsistent with rain, heat, and an increase in humidity. We are currently taking precautions set by the city to help control the mosquitos, and hopefully very soon this will not be problem. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and we hope if your ever in the area you'll choose to stay with us again! Safe travels.

Very satisfied with our stay! It was a last minute trip we booked this hotel literally on the way to corpus. Reasonable price for being on the island and only $20 pet fee. We will definitely be coming back!

  • Jun 01, 2017 by 330alysiab

Everything was excellent. Will be back soon. The beach is literally down the road and anything else you could possibly need. The turtle rescue is next door to the hotel and is is something you don't want to miss. 330alysiab thank you for choosing to stay with us and sharing your thoughts with us and Tripadvisor. We are very happy you enjoyed your time here with us on North Padre Island-Corpus Christi, and we very much look forward to your future visit!

Traveled with small children. Pool and hotel clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. I normally hate hotel breakfast. It was the best I have had. I would stay here again. Only downside was a lot of people standing outside smoking. It beats having a smoker in room next to you. Four guys checked in as we checked out. You could smell smoke through the wall as we were packing and getting ready to leave. heatherU2208GB thank you for taking time to share your experience and feedback with us. We greatly appreciate all the compliments on our hotel, staff, and amenities. Your opinions and experiences are extremely important to us as we want to give our guest the very best home away from home. We hope if you ever visit North Padre Island-Corpus Christi again you'll choose to stay with us, safe traveling!

  • Jun 01, 2017 by Beachgirl10328

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. This is an older Best Western, but it has been updated. The biggest positive for it being older is the thicker walls! We stayed for two nights, and we had zero noise from the rooms on either side. I can't say about noise above because we were on the second floor. We also didn't hear any noise from the highway even though we were very close. This hotel is on the edge of town as you're leaving the island, so it's quiet for that reason as well. The bed was okay; not the best but definitely not the worst I've ever slept on. I'm cold natured, so I wish there had been a comforter on the bed, or an extra blanket. There is a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee maker. This is a motel style hotel with all the rooms opening… Beachgirl10328 thank you for taking time sharing your thoughts and experiences with us and Tripadvisor. We greatly appreciate any and all feedback from our guest, as we want to continuously improve. We are pleased to hear that the noise was not an issue during your stay and please feel free to always call up to the front desk in case you’re in need of an extra blanket or pillow.

  • Jun 01, 2017 by A382TAvanessat

We stayed here spur of the moment on a family trip. Very nice view from the second floor, new rooms are large and cleaned up a little old-fashioned. Breakfast buffet was very nice. Overall we would stay here again, a great value at $99 for a beach vacation. Very close to multiple beaches on Padre Island. A382TAvanessat thank you for taking time to share your experience with us and Tripadvisor. We are very pleased you had a great family trip and that we could also be a part of that. We look forward to future visits!

We really loved staying here. The hotel was very clean and well kept. We really liked the location; it's just a few minutes drive to Whitecap Beach. We also liked that it's close to both Corpus attractions and Port Aransas. I felt like hotel was in a quieter part of the city, away from a lot the congestion and crowds. It's quiet and the beds were comfortable. From management to front desk and housekeeping, the staff was very accommodating. We also used the pool a few times; it's just the right size for the location and was very clean. The office provided fresh towels for the pool. We saw that many of the guests were there for fishing trips; the hotel had a special area for the boats that was convenient for the guests but not intrusive. The rooms on the top floor have vaulted… Brigitte M thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted that your overall experience with us and on North Padre Island-Corpus Christi was a great one. Your thoughts and encounters with us are of the highest priority and we appreciate all the compliments on our hotel and staff. We hope we will see you in future visits to North Padre Island, safe traveling.

We stayed 2 days to do some sightseeing around Corpus Christi and the islands and were not disappointed! We requested a ground room floor and got it, very nice and clean! The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed! I'd like to know what brand mattresses they have because we slept so good in that bed! Breakfast was good too. Will definitely come back! Sylvia and Dennis Sylvi K thank you so much for sharing your recent stay with us. We appreciate all the compliments on our hotel and staff. Excellent staff, assisted with check in and saved a downstairs room for access to parking and bringing my fishing tackle and ice chest so I didn't have to leave the valuable rods and reels in my truck. The parking lot and hotel was quiet. The beds are very comfortable, which is very important, as both of my rotator cuffs were torn and required surgery and metal pins, and 4 cervical vertebrae are fused. There should be more staffs like the staff at the Best Western. Rpnaldj thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and that our wonderful staff was able to accommodate all your needs. We hope that if you’re ever in the area again you’ll choose to stay with us and we wish you safe travels in the future.

First day, starting to notice the age of the hotel; paint peels, door misaligned so much we can see outside, sheets with stains

Convenient it was a nice place to stay convenient to surrounding places: restaurants, etc. There were no problems with the staff. They were very helpful. The breakfast was better than most. I would stay there again. L4535LUpatricias thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We appreciate the acknowledgement of our great staff, and kind words of our hotel. Enjoyed our stay. Location was great for what we were doing. Only drawback was the bed, could not sleep very uncomfortable. Staff was helpful, and nice. We also enjoyed the air show that was going on. paulmR1523CF all of your feedback is important to us and greatly appreciate taking the time to share your experience with us. Thank you for all the kind words and we apologize for the bed being uncomfortable for you. We stayed one night in a first floor room. We arrived on the island a day earlier than expected and this hotel had a room available when we needed it. The front desk staff was very helpful over the phone when booking last minute and pleasant at check-in. Our room was clean. Tile floors (which are to be expected in beach properties) made the room seem a little cold. The room was just average in size and accommodations. Hotel location was right on the main road on Padre and close to the bridge headed into Corpus. The pool looked nice with tiki hut type shelters, but we didn't get a chance to try it. We did notice that there were chargers in the parking lot for electric cars. Breakfast the next morning was good. Standard for Best Westerns including pancakes, eggs, sausage… KSUMommy your feedback is extremely important to us and we thank you for sharing your stay with us. We appreciate all the compliments on our staff and we are delighted they were able to accommodate your needs. We hope you thoroughly enjoyed visiting Corpus Christi and North Padre Island and hope to see you in future travels!

Traveling with a pet. Best Western is very accommodating and provides nice rooms to pet owners. As we travel thru USA we intentionally seek them out. Their rates are competitive and include a breakfast with a nice variety. williamhW8879OK we appreciate you taking the time to share your recent stay with us. It is our pleasure to be able to accommodate you and your pet while visiting North Padre Island. We hope if you’re ever in the area again that you and your pet will choose to stay with us and wish you happy travels.

This hotel is located at the north end of Padre Island but it is not on the beach. Its an easy drive to the beach but too far to walk. The room was fine but nothing special. Breakfast was OK. If we come back we will stay in Corpus Christi near the USS Lexington. This is a more central location and the beaches are close to the hotels. The Radisson would be a good choice. John F thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and your recent stay with us. We strive to be the best and provide a great quality stay, one our guest will thoroughly enjoy. We hope you will continue to visit the local beaches, and wish you safe travels in the future.

Near to the Wildlife refuge, breakfast lacked fruit but otherwise was what you would expect from a moderate priced Best Western. Very clean. Family sort of place. People on local fishing trips or beach visits Susan D thank you for taking the time to share your stay with us and TripAdvisor. We apologize there was no fruit, we will make sure that we have plenty stocked and not an issue in the future. We know you have options when choosing a hotel and we thank you for choosing to stay with us. We hope to see you again, safe travels!

I have stayed here several times and have always been surprisingly satisfied. I generally don't care for hotels with doors located on the outside, but I have always felt safe here. Rooms are updated, clean and very nice. Any complaint would be for them to buy new bedding. No matter how often you bleach older sheets they are still dingy. Also, try to find longer oblong toilet seats. Overall everything is great. Beverly0627 thank you for your continued loyalty and taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We continue to improve because of our great guest’s and their suggestions and feedback. Thank you for sharing these with us, it is greatly appreciated and we look forward to future visits!

If you're looking for a hotel on South Padre Island, this one is a good one. Our only problem is the shortage of electrical outlets. There were 4 useable outlets, all on the same side of the room. We travel with a bi-pap machine for my husband and a box fan to drown out noise. We had to improvise big time. Other than that, bed was comfortable, room size was great (we were traveling with two small dogs and their beds), breakfast was good and there is ample parking, especially for those bringing their boat to go fishing. Bring a few extension cords and it'll all work out. bitsmom_tn thank you for taking the time to share feedback of your recent stay with us. We continue to strive to make each guest’s stay as accommodating as possible. We acknowledge each guest’s needs are different and appreciate the recommendation to carry extension cords; this will definitely be taken into consideration. Thank you again for sharing and hope if you’re ever in the area you’ll choose to stay with us, safe travels.

We stayed here to go on a fishing trip the next morning. It was clean, and the staff were helpful. It was nothing fancy, but great for a nights stay. It is also near the beach and the docks which made our trip that much better. We would stay there again. I saw people there with boats in the parking lot, and pets. It was family friendly. Lanetrowell Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. We appreciate the compliments on our hotel and staff. Very good facility all around but found the tile floors a bit different. Guess it's easier to clean sand and dirt. I'll just have to take sandals next time for the cold floors. Some of the other best westerns Ive been to have better towels. richardrE1063AH thank you for sharing your stay with us. We appreciate your feedback and take all issues with concern to be addressed. We hope that if you ever travel back to North Padre island or Corpus Christi again that you’ll choose to stay with us! Safe travels in the future!

We have been staying here at The Best Western whenever we are in North Padre Island since 2011. Our favorite part of this hotel is the boat parking! They even have electrical plugs for you to charge your trolling motor. Our most recent stay was during January 28-29, and it was very pleasant. The room is very spacious, tidy, and well maintained. Our stay was very comfortable and the location is very convenient. Most importantly the staff is very friendly! A+++!!! Thea R thank you for sharing your recent experience with us and TripAdvisor. We greatly appreciate your continued loyalty and we will continue to strive to make each one of your stays with us as enjoyable as possible. Our staff is pretty exceptional and we’re grateful you think so too! We look forward to seeing you in future stays, safe travels!

The staff were great and the room was fine but both nights we were awakened by people just outside the rooms talking very loudly. There seemed to be, by some guests to feel that they could hang out outside the rooms and visit at all hours. The weather was relatively cool and I can only imagine that when the temperature goes up that it will be one big tailgate party all night. David M thank you for sharing your stay with us and praises on our great staff. Please accept our apology concerning the late noise disturbance. We want every guest experience to be an enjoyable one and we strongly encourage each guest to notify the staff when there is an issue. We greatly appreciate sharing your feedback, it enables us to make changes so that we can become better. We hope in the future you will consider staying with us again and allow us to make a different impression. Safe travels in the future!

I stayed a couple of nights over New Year's weekend. The property is well-kept. Check in was fast and friendly. Most BW's have two floors, with all outdoor access to rooms. (That is, no inner hallways) If you're on the upper level you must be able to carry your luggage up the steps. My room was clean and comfortable. It included a fridge and microwave. The wi-fi worked very well. There was also a sofa and coffee table, small table and two chairs. The floor was tile, which is probably more common in this part of the company. (vs carpet) My stay was quiet. Breakfast was the typical BW fare with cold cereals, scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, waffle makers, and bread/muffin options. There was also a pool on site, picnic table and a BBQ grill, and spots to park your… AdventureLass we appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel and your stay with us. Pleasantly surprised at how nice the room was. It was clean and provided everything we needed. My only issue was the a/c unit made a strange noise when it kicked on and off. When checking out I mentioned it to the front desk and they told me they had wished we had said something so they could fix it. They seem to care and do a good job of keeping the property nice and modern. Q6809MSpatricias thank you for sharing your recent stay with us and TripAdvisor. We are very sorry for the noise inconvenience of the A/C unit. We definitely encourage guest to notify the staff of any issues, and we appreciate bringing attention to this issue and is being investigated. Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your travels, and we hope to see you in the future.

I took my sister to the beach for her birthday. She had a good time, was able to sleep well in room. Probably most peaceful hotel stay in memory. The beach was gorgeous, Mustang Island only a few miles from the hotel. Breakfast was great. A huge cold front came in so first day was 70 degrees, second day 30's so we really enjoyed a hot breakfast being served. laurelg412 thank you for choosing to stay with us during the birthday celebration weekend. Went out of his way to correct issue I had as I was leaving. joelZ4211QR thank you for taking the time to share your experience while staying with us. We knew when we made reservations this was an older hotel. But it is quiet, clean, staff nice. Rooms have recently been remodeled, nice and clean, beds were comfortable. Staff goes above and beyond there duties. They were very pet friendly, just be sure you follow up with the hotel before arriving so they know you are in need of a pet friendly room. My one and only suggestion is that the hotel needs to have a rule about cleaning fish on hotel grounds. We came late to several men cleaning their fish and throwing it on the back of the property right outside our door, where we had walked our dogs earlier. When traveling with pets the last thing anyone needs to happen is for your animals to get sick from eating fish remains. That my only complaint. Would we stay again....oh yes!… Jkmann93 thank you for taking the time to share your recent stay with us! Your experience with us is our upmost priority, and we are very pleased that we were able to accommodate your needs. We would like to also thank you for your recommendations, they are very important to us and will definitely be taken under consideration. Our experience with this motel was terrific. All employees I interacted with were very friendly, helpful and professional. The room was very clean and beds quite comfortable. Maintenance has been good and everything in the room worked well. (Internet often slow but that's typical) this motel fit our needs perfectly well. It's not fancy but clean, comfortable and quiet. When we return to the area we would stay there again. ROGER B thank you so much for all your positive feedback on your recent stay with us. We are very grateful for your continued loyalty, and we look forward to seeing you in your future travels!

I called and inquired about dog friendliness and was told it's just a $20 fee and booked my room online. Upon check in I was told they are out of dog friendly rooms and denied my check in. I had to find a new hotel last minute with a pregnant wife and my dog. It was very unpleasant and the staff was rude about it. Please avoid if you are traveling with a dog. stangboris thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. First, we would like to apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the pet friendly rooms. Upon further investigation we were unaware that you did have a pet, as the online booking did not state a pet would also be arriving. Being conscious that some guests have pet allergies, we allow pets in certain rooms (first floor) because of certain accommodations we have made to the room, such as tile. We are delighted to be an animal friendly hotel and take great pride in being able to provide that service. We do acknowledge the flaws that can be created because of the online booking not being able to show if pet friendly rooms are available. It is never our intention to be rude to our guest or potential guests, and as a team we sincerely apologize, and appropriate coaching to staff has taken place. Our priority with every guest is to have incomparable customer service, making your stay away from home feel like home. As a team we strive to achieve a higher level of service, and we hope that in the future you may give us another chance to make a different impression. We wish you and your family well in your future travels.

The price and close proximity to the beach were what led us to this hotel, and we had a very good experience. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly and very accommodating. This hotel is not fancy, but we weren't expecting it to be. The breakfast was good, the area felt safe, and there was lots of parking available. There were lots of dogs staying at this hotel, which only bothered me when one inconsiderate guest let her dog bark all morning. I can't blame the hotel for that though. Overall, we had a great stay. Thank you so much MomToTwinsPlusOne for staying with us and sharing your experience! Thank you for acknowledging our wonderful staff, we think they are pretty amazing too! We are sorry that a noise disturbance was encountered during your stay; please always feel free to notify our staff of any issues. Thank you again for visiting us here at Best Western North Padre Island, and we hope you’ll choose to stay with us again in the future!

Haven't stayed here in years but were happy to see it was recently renovated. Our room looked brand new. Very comfy and clean. The A/C is loud and leaks outside which is sloppy but that was about all we can complain about. Breakfast was fresh and they had numerous choices. Coffee, juice and water as well. Very close to Padre beaches. Pool is clean and a nice way to cool down after a long day at the beach. We'll be back! RVargas98 thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback with us. Every year we strive to make upgrades that will make your stay more comfortable and memorable, because that is what our guest deserve. Thank you for bringing the A/C issue to our attention, we will promptly look into it and resolve any issues we find. We will look forward to your next visit!

After a hot day, the partying in the parking lot till after midnight, a lady yelling at her kids in a foreign language, the pipes in the wall rattling all night and a defective air conditioning system, was not pleasant. Then take a shower and have dirt from the floor washing down the drain. We were scheduled for three days/nights - left after one night! Raymond S first we would like to start by apologizing that your experience was not an enjoyable one. We like to give every effort we can in making each guests’ stay a positive experience. We definitely encourage every guest to notify an employee of any issues taking place so that the situation can be rectified. We want all of our guest to have a great time, but not at the expense of negatively affecting another guests’ stay; such as a noise disturbance. Thank you for expressing your different experiences you had while staying with us. Your feedback is invaluable, enabling us to improve so that we can make appropriate changes and prevent other guest from having a negative experience. Again, thank you and we wish you safe travels.

We have stayed at this facility numerous times the past several years. This has been our go to hotel due to its proximity to the beach. What a wonderful surprise to see the room was remodeled and CLEAN! I really appreciated the CLEANILINESS of the room as well as the renovations in the room. It certainly appears to be easier to clean. The four pillows were a nice benefit too. Overall, it was refreshing as a customer to see the upgrades. A big THANK YOU to the cleaning staff for their hard work to make the room clean and comfortable. 476joo first we’d like to say thank you for being a loyal guest. Secondly, thank you for sharing your feedback and compliments. We appreciate the compliments on our housekeeping department; we believe they are pretty great too. We are pleased to hear you like the different upgrades we have made and hope you will come see us again soon.

Extra-large room on second floor with ceiling fans. Took a room far away from main office. Breakfast good. Friendly and helpful staff. Handouts in lobby, dining area helped in deciding what to do each day. Because I read one of the newspapers, we attended a free program on growing tomato plants at the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center. Recommend: Catfish Charlie's for seafood, JB's German Bakery and Cafe, Padre Island National Seashore. Would stay here again if we were in the area. Great hotel. Nice pool with bbq pit. Not directly on the ocean but next to a whataburger for late night cravings. Clean room, fabulous showers, ac in our room was a little loud but worked great. The staff was excellent. Right across the street from a gift shop for any little trinkets. Off the bridge to the mainland but was well insulated. Didn't hear any traffic all night. Unfamiliar with the area, we drove up to an unattractive exterior. I forgot to request a 1st floor room, and the cot I did request wasn't available at first. My first impression was, "This is going to be a disaster!" But the woman at check in rearranged things so we got on the first floor. She went hunting for a cot and brought it to my room. The room was spacious, with a nice little table and chairs, microwave and fridge. The room was clean and tiled not carpeted, which is a plus in my book. The beds, including the cot, were very comfortable. There's a nice laundry facility, and the pool area looked very inviting although we did not use it. The breakfast area, fare and presentation was the best continental breakfast I've ever seen. I thought the room was a little… Ruth A thank you for expressing many aspects of your stay with us. This BW is located at the head of Padre Island, just over the causeway from Corpus, around the corner from Port Aransas and 10 Miles to the National Beach. The staff is helpful. The breakfast was good. The pool was great. This is our second stay here and hopefully we will be able to stay at this BW again. The handicapped facilities were quite good - especially the bathroom and the walk in shower - absolutely pristine everyday (thanks housekeeping) and easy to use. This place exceeded our expectations. We got a last minute deal for a quick weekend getaway on a hotel website. Pet friendly, which is essential for us, we have a lap dog. Not on the beach, but a quick drive. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and welcoming. Breakfast was great, usual waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, muffins, toast, cereal, juice, choices of pastries/bagels, oatmeal. We would stay here again. Excellent value. frequenttravels1234 thank you for sharing your opinions with us. We are delighted that we exceeded expectations and could contribute to your quick weekend getaway. If you're a smoker or a pet owner, you'll be happy to find this nice motel. The island doesn't have many options for you. Our second-floor room was very recently remodeled, and thus attractive. It had vaulted ceilings, small table and chairs for snacking, a ceiling fan, and a fridge/microwave. The sink is outside of the bathroom, so that can be pro or con depending on your preference. The shower had good water pressure. Just like another reviewer, we thought the mattress was too firm. The view off the motel landing was very nice: across the dunes and towards the intracoastal waterway. The pool also sits next to the dunes, so that's attractive too. The breakfast was your standard free hotel breakfast, like you'd get at comparative hotels. Dogs are not policed, so someone… Eilers78751 thank you for sharing your stay with us and TripAdvisor! This motel is not on the beach, but less than 5 miles from a beach access, which is excellent. The price was reasonable and they even accept pets for about $20, I'm not sure if it is per night. Room was very nice, and clean. Sandra M, thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are pleased that you found our hotel to be a great place to stay with your family. We hope we’ll see you and your family in the near future.

The location was great, fair price, very clean, basic outdoor pool, micro and good size fridge in the room and small table and chairs in the room great for meals. Customer service was amazing- some of the best we have ever seen. The man working the breakfast buffet went out of his way to clean the area- that man worked non stop and was incredibly nice. Other employees offered coupons for local sights without being asked and remembered us when they saw us over the week. Housekeeping did a great job each time they visited and left sweet little touches like tucking my sons stuffed animal in bed. The area was safe and the hotel was quiet. The cons? The beds and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable. The AC had a very irritating whine that made it hard to sleep. And the breakfast buffet closed too early. Hey guys, I'm on vacation and if my son manages to sleep until 8:30 I want to take advantage of the situation instead of hustling to make it before breakfast closes at 9. Otherwise it was a great stay!

Only issue that was experienced was bed comfort: hard mattress made for an achy body the next day. Need more comfortable mattresses, pads. Service was terrific, and morning breakfast good. Please add bacon to breakfast bar. Thank you Roxanne W for taking the time to review your stay with us. We appreciate your all your feedback, it is incredibly valuable to us. We are pleased that the service you experienced was terrific. All your concerns will be taken into consideration and looked into thoroughly. Thank you for staying with us and hope you will visit soon!

Really nice Staff and really nice rooms, very clean. The most comfortable bed in a hotel chain that I have slept on. Great pillows too. Plenty of towels that were super soft as well. Pool is sparkling blue with a nice view!. Continental breakfast was super, made my own waffles and loved them! Hotel is really close to the beach, shopping and Restaurants. Paul P thank you for sharing your review with trip advisor and with us here at Best Western Padre Island. We are so very delighted that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your many compliments on our hotel and invaluable staff. We take great pride in wanting to make every guests experience one that will be memorable and stress free. Very nice property/stay. Very clean bathroom area. We were on first floor and it was completely tiled. Looks nice but could have used a couple of area rugs maybe. Only negative was poor weatherstripping around room door which let directly to outside (no interior corridors). Thank you Roger S for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay at our hotel. We value your recommendations and will definitely be taken under consideration. From all of us at Best Western Padre Island we look forward to your visit in the future!

This was a nice, clean hotel. They serve a decent breakfast and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located to almost everything on the island. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Julia G for taking the time to review our hotel. We appreciate your loyalty, and are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We hope you visit us soon! GM

I am picky about clean and comfortable. Visiting PINS so this is close and convenient to Corpus, Port A and Mustang Island. Room was clean and smelled very faintly of bleach. No carpet!!! Loved that. Most comfortable bed ever! Great AC! The pool while not huge was also really clean. No mildew, no unnatural debris and had excellent sturdy sun loungers. Our room had iron and board, coffee maker, micro wave and a clean fridge. Plenty of towels, a wet bag and nice soaps, lotion etc. The lobby and reception were orderly and well kept. On the front door is an award for hotel excellence. The staff were friendly and professional. Morning breakfast had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, a waffle station, pastries, cold cereal, fruits and yogurts. The attendant to the dinning area was… Valerie1228 thank you for coming to visit us at Best Western Padre Island! We appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel. The biggest issue we had with the room was the air conditioner didn't work all that well. It got pretty muggy in the room. There aren't a lot of places where dogs are welcome, which is why we chose this one. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast layout was OK. Making your own waffles is something I enjoy, so... The second biggest issue was the party that was going on right outside our room until about 1:00 a.m. If you are the party type, this probably won't affect you. I was trying to get some sleep, and that didn't happen. If you go to Corpus Christi, Whitecap Beach is clean, but crowded. Get there early! If you go to the National Park beaches, expect to set up on a beach with miles of litter, flotsam, and the occasional Man-O-War. The good news on the National… Thank you rugger4to8us for providing feedback of your stay with us at the Best Western Padre Island! We are very sorry that there was an issue with the air conditioner. With the summer upon us we take this very seriously and will be looking into all the A/C units to make sure they are running efficiently. We sincerely apologize for noise issue, and we encourage guest to notify front desk staff when noise nuisance arise. Please be assured we will follow up on noise complaints and aim for everyone to enjoy their stay. We strive for our hotel to be a great experience, one that guest will want to keep coming back to when they travel to North Padre Island and hope that you will give us another chance to leave a better impression. We hope to see you soon!

We have been Best Western Rewards members for quite some time and always try to choose them whenever possible while traveling, which we do a lot of. This Best Western in particular had a great staff which we always seem to be satisfied with, however, the beds claimed to be queen yet were full size and the bedding was too small for the beds, so my husband and I were fighting for covers the whole night. The a/c / heater unit was inconsistent and had a hard time keeping the room at a constant temperature. The walls were very thin, and we could hear our 'neighbors' TV all night. The breakfast looked and smelled amazing, yet made both of us ill. The eggs and sausage both seemed to be low quality imitation (fake not real). This experience will not keep us from going to Best…

We haven't been on holiday in over 26 years (life got in the way)! We thoroughly enjoyed the property, service, and location at Best Western Padre Island! We selected BWPI for their "pet friendly" policy... $20.00 per day wasn't necessary for our girl, but we understand. This was the first "road trip" for our 7 year old Doberman! Needless to say, the experience of staying in a motel room was new to her. She did very well. She never heard anyone in adjoining or upper rooms to cause her to bark, calling our attention to others (or bothering anyone else)! Thank goodness their pet friendly policy is ground level rooms! The only thing that caused a bit of discomfort - mean stickers in the grassy areas that we had to walk through for our Dobie bathroom breaks! But, that's Texas! …

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and have always been satisfied. I will stay again! The staff was so good to me and my students. It is a wonderful place for families with children. No night noises.

Fantastic service and great rooms! Staff very helpful to meet your needs. Clean, comfortable well maintained property. Great location, good views, in house breakfast well presented and above average hotel breakfast food.

Our go-to in Corpus. The staff are always so kind and the rooms spotless. It's a great location to move between Corpus, Port Aransas and Malaquite National Seashore. They have a pool, free breakfast (not just a roll and oj, real food) and pets are allowed. Very reasonable price.

This was our first time at the North Padre Island Best Western. The rooms are very clean, staff was very professional and nice.We can see why others come back over and over again. We will too! PS Some new pillows would be nice. Beds are very comfortable.

Family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights in March. The room was clean and comfortable, all rooms open up to outside with a nice view of the bay. The hotel is on a highway but not right next to anything so it is quiet. We did not use the pool instead choosing to go to the beach, they let you take hotel pool towels to use on the beach which is very nice. Breakfast was good with hot items, which is always pleasant surprise. I did do a load of clothes in the onsite laundry and the facility was adequate. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend to other families searching for comfortable accommodations.

  • Mar 01, 2016 by Mark W

Our two rooms were not together as requested and one-half the family was on the top, second floor and the other half on the ground floor. The rooms were very basic and the staff was not able to clean the rooms and change bed linens and towels as scheduled. Our room went two days without any cleaning and we had to ask for clean towels. Overall, for a Best Western Rewards member and fan, not a good experience.

  • Mar 01, 2016 by Jamie H

Great staff and clean location, no problems everything worked out and will definately stay again. Really nice location and easy access to beach and the highway. The rooms were clean and very roomy and accomodating!

I will not stay anywhere else when on the coast. This team takes excellent care of us every-time we step through the door till we check out. I always feel like a valued guest and will always be thankful for the welcome feeling after the 2 hour drive there. This is the place to stay if you are going to visit the coast!!!!!

This was for a 7 night stay. This review done on second day of stay. Access to hotel was excellent. Easy to find via GPS. Lobby/atrium/breakfast area, (all in one), was quite striking. Eating breakfast the first morning was a good experience. The room make-up person arrived just after we returned from breakfast. She asked about room make-up and we responded that we needed a few minutes, but would then leave for her to do the room. As I complete this review we are waiting for her return three-and-a-half hours later. The room is very large, with sofa, chairs, king bed, table, desk, large bath area, and a very basic kitchen area. ( It is described as an all-suite venue.) Lobby staff were friendly and efficient. Laundry facilities were located on the top floor, (3rd). The location…

I was on a pleasure trip to Corpus Christi recently and stay the night in this motel which describes itself is pet friendly. However they tell you a check in if you don't disclose that you have a dog there's a $200 fine that will be charged to your credit card. Can you find out that there's a $20 charge for the night for bringing your dog in the hotel. Then they proceed to interrogate you on your behavior and your pets behavior. I came here because I really enjoy my dogs companionship in my room. He really doesn't mind staying out in my car. However if I would've known that the heat did not work and I was going to sleep in my clothes and be very cold all night and very uncomfortable. And then when I woke up and tried to take a shower find A governor on the temperature control of the faucet that only allows you to take a warm shower not a hot shower I would've never stayed here. The motel appears to be new and well decorated it has tile on the floor and set a carpet which is a plus however new and clean did not trump being cold because the heat didn't work and uncomfortable because the shower was not hot. All those things considered those of you that have stayed in Best Western Rewards know that their breakfast says are nothing to get excited about very basic those of us that like a good hearty hot breakfast really have to go somewhere else and buy it somewhere else. So this time I really wish I would've stayed at the Hampton Inn instead

  • Feb 01, 2016 by Nichole M

Best hotel choice on the island! Tile floors for after the beach, you can bring your dog for a small fee, very friendly staff, clean rooms, can't hear other guest, upfront parking, ON THE ISLAND! All around amazing experience! This is our new hotel for when we visit the island <3

On reading some of the reviews I wonder if we have stayed at the same place. From check in to checkout we have been very pleased. On check in when I told the desk clerk I had a small registered service dog and offered to show her his registration she very nicely Said it was not necessary. The room was clean the bed comfortable I could control the temperature. We had nice hot showers. The breakfast was tasty with choices as to what we had. The staff was all real friendly even the ones that couldn't understand me. Nice to see staff with smiles on their faces. If we ever come back we will be sure to stay here.

I just returned from Padre Island, TX. We stayed in this Hotel. We really enjoyed our visit, very good costumer service, the hotel is very well located, it is close to the main attractions. Friendly staff. We were leaving a little before 6:00 am and the front desk person was super nice to open the breakfast room for us to have breakfast before leaving.

  • Feb 01, 2016 by kcpetcare

First let me say I stopped here because they describe themselves as pet friendly. If you think being interrogated about your pet your behavior, your pets behavior. And then threatened eight $200 fine if you don't disclose that you have a pet. And charging you $20 for the night, just because you want to bring your pet in your room. As pet friendly. Then come on. Because that's how it's going to go down. We all know that our pets are members of our family and yes they leave behind the little dog hair. And that's probably all. If you have an extra child another person in your party and they take a shower, used towels, Make a cuppa coffee, sleep on the second bed we all know that an extra person in the room cost to hotel more than me bringing my pad in the room. So if you don't mind… Dear Kcpetcare Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment about our hotel. We are genuinely sorry for any inconveniences you encountered during your stay with us. Please accept our sincerest apologies for not meeting your expectations. The pet friendly rooms at our hotel are essentially dedicated for guests travelling with pets and therefore we charge a small fee per night to offset the additional cleaning costs. Please understand that our fine for undeclared pets is only applicable to guests who do NOT register their pets. Cleanliness is of utmost importance to our business and as such we want to ensure that we honor many of our guest requests to be placed in a room where “pets” have resided. We understand that your pet may have been well behaved and therefore a pet fee of $20 may seem high, however this is a nominal fixed fee that we have been charging for many years. Regarding the heater in your room, as you may recall, our Front Desk Agent communicated that she was more than happy to do what she could to relocate you to another room with two beds, which you declined. Our team always exerts all efforts to provide the best options for our guests. We do also apologize for the showerhead. Our bathrooms have all been recently renovated and we have been getting many compliments about the décor. Our maintenance staff will be looking into the issue that you encountered in your room. We are excited about the new breakfast program which is going to be introduced at all Best Westerns starting April 2016. We are working very hard to have the changes to our breakfast implemented by the end of March. We hope that you will consider giving us another chance in the future. Sincerely, General Manager

This is an excellent hotel if you are fishing the Corpus Christi area and/or have a boat, the hotel is very accessible and has ample parking, the rooms are clean and staff is helpful. The continental breakfast is good and convenient.

Room was nice. Front desk lady was very nice and helpful. he breakfast was ok. I would definitely stay here again. The price was very good also. The bed was very comfortable. The front desk person made a slight mistake in billing us, but it was corrected by the morning person.

  • Jan 01, 2016 by Ferdinand C

As soon as I pulled up to the hotel, I was asked if I was ready to check-in. The lady behind the desk was pleasant and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and the heater worked very well. ( it was cold that day). There was a lot of variety of foods to have for breakfast. This was no fruit only breakfast. Overall I was pleased with my stay, and would do it again if I am in the area. Beach access is minutes away to include PINS.

We checked in on Christmas Eve & the person behind the front desk of the hotel provided a very friendly experience. Since we were on vacation, we requested that the free breakfast timings be extended by half an hour & the person seemed empowered & more than happy to oblige with the request. He provided valuable information for the dining places that would be open on this Christmas Eve.

Front desk very friendly! Room clean. LOVE the tile floors when close to the beach. Shower head nice and high (important when husband is 6'4"). Breakfast included eggs, biscuits and sausage, yogurt, cereal, waffles, juice and coffee. Price very reasonable. Thanks for a nice stay!

  • Dec 01, 2015 by Richard K

The room was clean and spacious, well-equipped and everything worked well. We waited nearly an hour to check-in after our arrival at 3:45 p.m. The quality of the plates and dinner ware for breakfast was CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. The plates had to be doubled or tripled to hold anything and the dinner-ware bent when I tried to cut something.

  • Dec 01, 2015 by Solstice

We (including my husband and 2 miniature schnauzers) received a warm and inviting welcome from the front desk clerk. The facility is well maintained, clean and quiet. It includes enough green space with picnic tables and a charcoal grill for us to enjoy as well as our 2 four-legged companions to stretch out in. The room is spacious including a sofa, moderately-sized flat screen TV, microwave, mini fridge and tiled flooring for easy clean up. The free breakfast included a variety of items (i.e. waffles, breads, eggs, bacon, yogurts, cereals, juices, coffee, etc.) that were more than filling. The young lady who "manned" the breakfast area was very sweet and welcoming.

This hotel and it's staff tried to accommodate all my needs and concerns. Security of my vehicle is one of the biggest concerns I have. Plenty of cameras, and staff patrols area, Very well lit (except for the fog) open areas to accommodate larger vehicles, boats, trailers etc. Easy access and traffic flow back to Corpus in the morning is pleasant.

Clean and great location near beach. Pet friendly although watch out for burr filled lawns..not Hotels fault-just tough Texas landscape. Was pulling very sharp burrs out of my dogs paws constantly. A quick drive to the beach and dogs can run free! Being a California girl where everything is so regulated ( no Dogs on beaches law).. I truly was in heaven seeing them run free on the beach! And all this a quick five minute drive to sand from this Hotel. Will stay here again.. Truly nice getaway from Austin for the weekend!

Handicap accessible room was very spacious and easy to get around in. Staff was friendly and professional and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Staff was knowledgeable about the .island and recommended good places to eat out.

  • Nov 01, 2015 by Christopher G

The location of this motel is great. It is minutes away from multiple boat ramps and bait shops and easily accessible no matter where you are coming from on the island. The Packery channel runs directly behind the motel so you can quickly get to your favorite duck blind or fishing hole. There is also plenty of room for trailer parking with power outlets for charging batteries near by.

  • Oct 01, 2015 by MarvaandLewis

Nice motel for the price. Clean, large rooms, and very friendly staff. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was okay. The beach was nasty! The red tide was in and the smell was unbelievable. Many dead fish added to the smell. Never thought to ask about the beach! But the motel was nice!

  • Oct 01, 2015 by Olga V

for the price, the flooded fridge and wet floor, indicated the room floors may not have been mopped. That is not pleasant. It was off season, so the price should reflect that. It didn't. The breakfast yogurts should have been restocked. Again, not what I paid for.

Booked this hotel from Trip Advisor. Got a really reasonable rate for the Island, so my expectations weren't that high. I was very surprised when I saw the room. It was very spacious and comfortable. The bed is a little firm but comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I stayed here during the week so I'm sure that why the rate was less expensive. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Oct 01, 2015 by serenity1967

Clean, super nice staff, free breakfast included and pets are allowed. We have two 60+ shepherd/lab mixes and they travel with us. This hotel allows pets and only charged a total of $20 extra for the dogs to stay the one night we were there. The beach is just a 5 minute drive (Mustang Island Beach- which also allows dogs). Perfect location and very nice hotel.

I spoke with three different people that work for the hotel (checkin, breakfast, and checkout) all were very happy to see me; informative, smiles and polite. At checkin all my questions were answered before I could ask. The rooms were clean and large. Medium fridge and small microwave. The rooms were cool and surprisingly not humid. No sand present as well! Breakfast had eggs, sausage, waffles, toasts, cereal, and fruit. Hot and plentiful. Every room looks over the lit parking lot. it was easy for me to park in front of the room so I could see my car from the window. I saw two small boats parked in a lot off the main parking. Fast food and restaurants close by. An extended walk to get to the closest, or walk over the highway to fast food. (The highway slows down at night - noise was never an issue) Grocery is back on the main land (HEB and Walmart) CVS close by on island next to Stripes gas station. I thought I had lost my keys in the room after check out ... They went out of their way to check the room and to call me back to let me know that they didn't find them. They even looked under the beds. At no time did I feel like I was putting them through a hassle. They were so polite and responsive. Management must be training staff real well!

Best Western on the Island is a small gem amongst a group of hotels on this gorgeous island. After making many calls to other hotels and feeling like a was nuisance to the staff, I called Best Western and was immediately greeted by a friendly and personable young lady named Amber. She took the time to listen to my lodging needs, and then offered me the solution that best fit my budget and needs. The beds were extremely comfortable, the entire staff was super friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable of their brand. The checkout procedure was super easy and quick, and most importantly, my bank account was not hurting when I opened it up Monday morning! Kudos Best Western on the Island! I WILL be back!

Friendly staff, good location, Ample breakfast with several selections, including lower calorie items. About 13 miles from North Padre Island and about 6 miles from Mustang Beach.. We preferred being out of the congestion of the main city of Corpus Christi, and this motel is. At least 2 Fast Food restaurants nearby.

My only problem during my stay was that we were looking for bottled water and the lobby/office was out and the vending machine was not working. The location was fine and would stay there again. good room for the value

My husband and I have date night every Friday. I wanted to see the ocean again and so we decided to see the North Padre National Seashore. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the beach. We were very pleased to find a comfortable room with a lovely pool that accepts pets. We were so close to everything. The staff was very helpful with directions and suggestions. Our room was beautiful and the bed was awesome!!! We had a great time and will be back.

My husband chose this hotel for both price and location. We wanted to be away from the busier hotel locations. This is an older hotel but is well maintained and clean. The bed was comfortable. The first full day the housekeeping staff did not show up until late in the afternoon, so we did not have her clean as I was resting. Otherwise, it was acceptable and quiet.

My wife and I took a couple of days on the island recently and stayed here. We got a great rate by booking for during the week. Very convenient to things in Corpus Christi, and just a couple of minutes from the Padre Island beach. Room have tile floors, so there is no mildew carpet smell that normally goes with coastal hotels. Comfortable bed. Very clean, great staff, and a good full breakfast (only complaint is that since this is Texas, they need gravy for the biscuits). Will definitely stay again!

  • Sep 01, 2015 by Michael H

As soon as we opened the door to the room there was this awful cleaning/chemical smell that took hours to dissipate. The bed pillows were plentiful but about one third of a normal bed pillow and kept slipping apart which was the cause of a restless night's sleep.

Stayed here for move in weekend at TAMUCC. Has easy access to the beaches as well as close to the college. Beds comfortable but wish pillows were full size pillows. Wish that scrambled eggs for breakfast were real eggs. Will be back Stayed here recently for college orientation. Chose this place because it was close to the beach. Serves breakfast which is nice. Had good internet connection in room. Bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning was loud. Would stay here again as I like the location and that it is pet friendly.

  • Aug 01, 2015 by suzanne_vickers

Underwhelming. We were scolded on arrival for not calling ahead about our dog. This was my first time traveling with a pet....the website said pet friendly so I assumed that it was sufficient to tell them upon arrival. My bad for not knowing the process, but I could have done without the admonition. The room was OK.....could have used a broom since the floors were tiled and we were back and forth from the beach. If we stay in the area again I will do a little more research into a little nicer place. This was a quick, spur of the moment trip. The bed was pretty comfy, though.

  • Aug 01, 2015 by Pete G

The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The furnishing appear new, or well taken care of. The price is great compared to other hotels that are not even on the island. The staff is very freindly. They have security cameras that monitor the parking lot, and I was amazed that people left thier fishing gear out in the open over night. I never heard anyone complain about theft. I will definitely be returning to this hotel for my next trip to North Padre Island.

Helpful info for how to get around on the island. Got a great recommendation for a local restaurant that was excellent; breakfast was more than adequate. My daughter loved the Texas shaped waffles! Can't go wrong here!

I had been to this before and gave low marks. THis hotel actually fixed those concerns. Very impressed. Staff was friendly, cleaning people were clean and professional. everything worked. Adequate place to stay on the island when you have pets.

We like to stay in a certain price range with our hotel stays while we are on family vacations. It allows us to have more money to do other fun activities, rather then just put it all into a nice hotel. Finding nice Hotels that range from 2-3 stars (trip advisor ratings are different but still helpful if you know what you are looking for) is a bit of a challenge. When we first booked for this trip we ended up at a very yucky hotel. Luckily we got our money back and found this one. Now seriously if your looking for a resort ... High end hotel move yourself right along. You won't be happy here. For those of you like us who budget and plan for a nice well rounded trip for the whole family, welcome home. Mom's I have some basic rules I go by before my family can stay #1 clean…

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. It was a pleasant surprise to see the rooms look refreshed and clean. We like the convenience of the hotel to our destination, the beach. The front desk check-in was pleasant, and we were offered towels to use at the beach or pool.

  • Aug 01, 2015 by Terry G

Not a bad place but the breakfast..... Well let's just say of all the places I've stayed this one is the worst! The instant eggs where horrible and the waffle machine they use a small measuring cup that doesn't hold enough batter so the waffles are not good. The room is not bad but mini fridge barely keeps drinks cool! And having all tile floors is good but these are very dirty! Don't walk bare foot or you're going to need a shower. They have a small pool but the deep end is only five feet!

  • Aug 01, 2015 by Sam M

Best western was a very nice place to stay at. The room was very clean. The cleaning lady was very nice. She provided us with ideas of things to do and see. She keep the room very clean and keep us with plenty of clean towels.

  • Jul 08, 2015 by Samantha W.

This hotel is centrally located. Easy to get to any beach. The price is reasonable and very clean. The breakfast was o.k. I wish they served REAL scrambled eggs though. (That took a star away for me.) The room had a extremely strong cleaner smell which didn't go way. We didn't have our room cleaned for the three days we were there hoping the smell would diminish but it was super strong the whole time. (That took the second star away).Probably won't return on a count of the smell.

We Stayed two nights 7/24 & 7/25 as it was close to the beach! Very friendly, professional & Excellent front desk assistance. Breakfast was awesome & rooms were very clean & acceptance of pet was a plus! Will definitely stay here again in the future!!

  • Jul 01, 2015 by Carolyn G

My family was supposed to stay here two nights while on vacation and visiting family. I booked it because it was a 4 star...not so much. Dingy air conditioning units, musty smelling room, not to mention no room to sit for a bare minimum complimentary breakfast. We left after one night and headed to the Omni. Best Western on the Island is too pricey for motel quality!

  • Jul 01, 2015 by Estevan M

Great stay experience with Best Western on the Island of Padre Island. You won't be disappointed. All aspects of stay were of excellent quality especially location. This was for 4th of July Weekend and all was in tip top shape. Peace-Satisfied Customer

  • Jul 01, 2015 by Druetta R

The people there we very helpful and polite. Nice clean rooms and breakfast was a very nice surprise. We would definetly stay there again. Looking at going back Labor Day week. Was disappointed at first on the distance from the beach but towards the end of our visit we found it to be very close drive to the beach.

  • Jul 01, 2015 by Texash1207

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I stayed over the 4th of July weekend with my mom and my little dog. Rooms were beautifully remodeled, front desk staff was helpful and attentive. The free breakfast included scrambled eggs, waffles, cereals, muffins etc. Even the pool was clean and refreshing. Overall, this was the perfect hotel to visit when travelling with a pet.

  • Jun 08, 2015 by Melinda B.

A fantastic place to stay. Pet friendly. We have stayed here 3 different times and it is always wonderful. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. Very clean and comfortable. I will continue to come back many more times.

  • Jun 01, 2015 by Liz Walton

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel! We weren't expecting much (the rate was very inexpensive), but it was clean and quiet and we slept great! It's located close to the Padre Island National Seashore and there are stores & shops around. The staff was very friendly & the complimentary breakfast had a waffle bar, eggs, biscuits & gravy, along with the usual yogurt & bagels. Really great place to stay!

  • Jun 01, 2015 by Texastraveler8266

The hotel is right next to the Laguna Madre and 10 miles from Padre Island National Seashore and Mustang Island State Park. The room was very clean and the staff very friendly and accommodating. They have large flat screen TVs and refrig and microwave. The entrances to the rooms are outside. There is a pool. Because of the location we will stay here again.

  • Jun 01, 2015 by dkmurphygirl

Had a great stay! Rooms were clean, fresh towels and soaps replenished every day, free breakfast. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and gave us great tips on which beaches to visit, best restaurants, etc. Also a great central location if you want to explore the whole island, and surrounding areas. We were able to drive less than 10 minutes away to Whitecap beach, drive over the bridge to Corpus Christi bay to visit museums and the aquarium in 15-20 minutes, and were about 15-20 minutes from Port Aransas. Will definitely stay there again.

  • Jun 01, 2015 by Mary R

Best Western on the Island is a great location for those wanting to be close to great fishing areas and close to Port A. The rooms have been updated. It's a super clean Motel. Tracy, the head of house cleaning is fantastic! She's friendly and professional and makes sure you are totally satisfied with your room. The pool is very nice and relaxing. Overall, excellent place to stay. The A/C units are loud, but maybe they too will be replaced.

  • May 01, 2015 by Richard D

Went to Corpus Christi for a little fishing get away. Hotel was nice, the employees were nice, pool was good, my only complaint was they rent the hotel out to Chain Electric employees who sit outside and drink after work and get loud. Hopefully they will stop doing this for Summer vacationers.

  • May 01, 2015 by Gary B

Great attention to booking on short (night before) notice and ease of check-in once on site. Put me in ground floor room as close to office (and breakfast) as possible. Staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Will be staying on many more visits to CC. Will recommend to friends as a home away when on the Coastal Bend!

  • Apr 01, 2015 by SDCSR

220/night on week ends. Worth 75/. Thin walls, run down, noisy A/C's. Caters to people who don't want to drive ten minutes to the mainland side for a newer hotel. Breakfast is provided sparingly. Pass and drive a couple of blocks to a restaurant. Think 1960 Holiday Inn. Unfortunately this is about as good as it gets on the Island .

  • Apr 01, 2015 by Jackie S

We did not have any reservations due to the fact we had to come to Corpus to make funeral plans for a family member. Was able to help us stay for the 6 nights we needed without having to move rooms or leave the motel. Every hotel was booked due to several events going on. Great dog walk areas! Great staff! Will stay again.

  • Apr 01, 2015 by Carol873

This was a good place to stay, located close to the National Seashore. There was a good variety of breakfast items, and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was also very clean, and comfortable lounge chairs by the pool.

  • Apr 01, 2015 by Ian W

What a pleasant surprise for the family staff was great. Breakfast was nice terrible morning storm and they allowed me to shortcut through the laundry facility to get to my room drier. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Room is nice bed is comfy and bathtub shower is perfect for the toddler.

I have been staying at the Best Western on the Island since March 2, 2014.... Let me tell ya Mary and Lauren have been awesome to me since day one.... Both of them are people that truly care about your well being and making sure the customer is satisfied. I would like to personally THANK both of them for an exceptional job that they do!!!! Also, I would like to wish Lauren the best of LUCK in her new endeavors.... Thank you KB for taking care of me as well and the whole Best Western family!!! Also, cant forget about the cleaning staff as well, they do a great job!!!Take care.

We got a great rate booking directly through TripAdvisor. We got there early, around 1 PM, and we were very grateful that they let us check in early. Our room was HUGE. Ground floor, near the back of the property, nonsmoking king. Absolutely the cleanest room I've ever been in. Even passed a black light inspection! (We just had a black light for a car AC repair. We're not crazy obsessed or anything.) Seriously CLEAN. Amazingly comfortable beds. The best shower I've ever been in, anywhere. I cannot say enough nice things about the shower. Breakfast was great: scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, selection of cereals, breads and English muffins, fruit and yogurt. The front desk clerk that morning kept everything stocked, hot & fresh. (Plus, she had a great smile!) …

Lovely place to stay. Good price which included full breakfast. Close to walkable beaches and convenience store. Quiet and pleasant. Great foe bird watching. Helpful front desk staff for directions on places to visit.

  • Apr 01, 2015 by Veronica T

very enjoyable, everything was very close by including the beach, shopping and resturants even walking distance, i loved it also included pool and pincic area for bbq, everyone at this location was friendly, i tried to stay at this location several times as always full, finally got a chance and i loved it so much best location, for fishing beach shopping resturants mini golf. etc. a must stay

  • Apr 01, 2015 by Charles R

Great motel with super friendly and courteous staff. Great room for the price, and located at the perfect spot for the beach. I will always plan at staying here will visiting the island. I can always depend on getting the best bargain and checking in early when I choose to stay at this motel.

  • Mar 01, 2015 by Ricardo B

Needed and affordable room on Padre Island and the BW frilled all our requirements... Great Staff, Great Room and better value. I would recommend this room anyone. Thanks Best Western for taking care of us.

  • Mar 01, 2015 by EngineerPassLady

No hot tub. At night mosquitoes came out; because of rain no mowing.... Soft bed/ We prefer firmer mattress. Stiff scratchy sheets. Getting into hotel is difficult; you must make a U turn on a busy highway. Police lie in waiting for speeders!

  • Mar 01, 2015 by Cynthia F

The staff was friendly and professional. The outside of the motel was clean and well maintained. The room was clean and had everything that was advertised(coffee maker, ironing board etc.). I had accidentaly left my car unlocked for several hours and was relieved to find no one had taken advantage of that. It was my daughter and I traveling alone and we both felt very safe staying here. Some reviews had mentioned problems with hard beds, we did not have that problem and I have a hip that will bother me if a mattress is too firm. Would stay here again!

  • Mar 01, 2015 by Gary J

Our second floor room had a vaulted ceiling with a ceiling fan, a nice variation. The decor was OK, no desk, but a nice bath/vanity. There was a nice big TV and all the amenities functioned properly including the wireless internet. Bedding and pillows were nice but the mattress was not as comfortable as we would have liked. The view of the harbor is nice from the second floor. There were a few small issues that detracted from our overall impression: The safety latch on the door was broken (non operative); one of the two screws that hold the bathroom door knob on was missing; and there was a bit of what looked like rust on the bathtub around the drain vent.

We were thrilled to be able to finally try out the Best Western on the Island. They have been booked up in the past when we tried to stay there. This is a very nice, very clean, well appointed, reasonably priced place to stay. The location is great as long as you're not looking for waterfront. The beach is a short drive away. The staff was friendly and helpful. Pets are accepted for a $20/day fee. (If you do bring dogs, watch out for stickers in the grass). Boat parking is available. Breakfast is included--cereals, waffles, eggs & bacon/sausage, fruit, yogurt, toast, etc. Beds/pillows were comfortable & linens were very clean. Room was immaculate. Wifi is free and works great. We were pretty far from the lobby but still got full signal and decent speed. Water temp…

Mary and Lauren were excellent at the front desk! Were very helpful in giving information to nearby locales and were spot on in terms of customer service. I would go back to this hotel again! Also rooms were spacious and very quiet! Excellent breakfast in the morning. Internet was fair, spotty at times, but was still able to get on and use!

  • Mar 01, 2015 by Osacr D

Although this hotel is on the small side (40 units) it is still very attractive in many respects. The staff is genuinely welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the access was generally beneficial from an entry & exit perspective.

  • Mar 01, 2015 by Nancy B

Our 2nd floor room had a peaked ceiling, which was great. The bathroom needed more or better lighting. We heard the beds were brand new, and boy were they hard. I know most people like their beds hard, but I do not. It didn't give me a backache, fortunately. The staff was very friendly and eager to help out. Location was good, but we didn't have any sun. Bet it would be gorgeous if the weather was nicer. Was gloomy and we couldn't see much beyond 1/4 mile.

  • Mar 01, 2015 by Jonathan A

Upon arrival, front desk attendant was really kind and was very professional. Room was decent and showed signs of age in some spots but nothing to detour us from the over all feeling of the hotel. Breakfast was kind of the downfall to the whole experience being on the light side or too average for our taste. Maybe some other choices would be great. As a whole everything couldn't have went anymore better than it did. I would definitely go back. Great hotel for the price and location is the best.

  • Feb 27, 2015 by S

Decent continental breakfast. Friendly staff, nice rooms, good location between Corpus and seashore.

  • Feb 01, 2015 by Elaine W

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Rooms were clean and inviting. Will stay there again for sure. Great location as well. Only negative was the outside carpet on the steps could use update.

  • Feb 01, 2015 by Sarah H

Great stay. I would stay at this BW again. Staff is really welcoming and helpful. My room had a beautiful view, especially during sunset. The cleaning crew was so helpful and very personable. Very respectful. I just loved my stay at the Best Western Island. No complaints.

  • Feb 01, 2015 by gossipsquirrel

I usually stay away from motels but this one was great. Location is perfect for anyone wanting to go fishing, fourwheeling, or to the various beaches. Close to restaurants and stores. Very clean rooms with tile floors and updated furnishings. I read in other reviews abt thin walls, I stayed in room 118 on the bottom floor and never heard the people above me or to the sides. Would return!

  • Feb 01, 2015 by Chris W

walls very thin. could hear everything next door. Cleaning staff really loud at 8 am. Room was clean. Parking was cramped. ONly hotel on island that takes pets. Open area had lots of stickers that got on dogs. the front area was cool

  • Feb 01, 2015 by Isaac D

Great place to stay and pet friendly. Very clean rooms and very friendly staff. We got in before the posted check-in time and the staff found a room for us that had just been vacated and quickly cleaned it for us.

  • Feb 01, 2015 by Peggy S

I come here for 2-3 days a week for work and this is the hands down best place I have stayed out here. The Staff is amazing and super helpful and always willing to help and super friendly. My room is always nice and clean and comfortable. I have been staying at this location for over a month every week and I cant think of a single negative. They have a great breakfast in the morning and hot coffee all day long :) love this place and the rates are great as well. Every week we come Lauren always remembers our names and the room preference we have, how awesome is that. So If you are looking for a clean nice friendly hotel with great rates look no where else

I really enjoyed this little hotel. It was a spur of the moment stay for us in the month of January. We found it on Expedia and thought we would give it a try and glad we did. It wasn't busy at the time but, the parking lot is small. Our 2nd floor room was very, very clean & completely updated. You weren't going to find little unwanted surprises here. The beds were a little hard for me but, hubby liked them and I personally prefer a standard size pillow. Those pillows were very stuffed and squared. Looks good on the bed though. Their staff was great and we never had a problem. They took very good care of us. We never tried their breakfast they closed a little early for us as it shuts down by 9 a.m. (10 would have been great!) but, I am sure it would have been fine. There is…

1st time we've stayed in this hotel. For the money, it was worth the drive. We generally stay in Corpus Christi on Shoreline but due to costs, we chose to stay elsewhere on this trip. Rooms are clean but parking is not the best. Limited to small parking lot that was full every night.

  • Feb 01, 2015 by barryb244

Enjoyed our stay at the Best western, very comfortable room and staff was very friendly I would stay here again. View was great. Not much more to say and I want to get on with my day but they want 200 characters.

  • Feb 01, 2015 by newawil

We chose this best western because it backed up to the state park. The price was fair and it was clean and well kept. However, on the downside, we expected to have a view toward the beach. Not sure why they would build a motel near the beach with a view facing the road. Also, we expected there would be a trail from the motel to the beach as it was right next to the park. Although the motel was right next to a very busy road, it was quiet at night. No restaurants within safe walking distance.

  • Jan 01, 2015 by Arnulfo M

This Best Western (On The Island) is a favorite of ours. Close to the beach and short drive into town or Port Aransas. Clean rooms and friendly staff at your service. We also stay at the Best Western Downtown Corpus Christi and in Port Aransas during the year and we generally choose this Best Western overall. Only con...no heated pool.

  • Jan 01, 2015 by swalker616

We stayed 3 nights in Mid January. Found the beds hard and the pillows were overstuffed and useless as a aid in sleeping. They look nice all puffed up when the bed is made. The breakfast was nice and coffee was great.

  • Jan 01, 2015 by Bud C

Traveling to South Texas we got a special rate over Internet, so we spent two nights at Best Western on Parde Island. Older up dated motel we had a nice big room on ground floor king bed microwave refergetor, coffee maker, flatscreen tv. Hot shower. Everything clean nice looking. Breakfast hot eggs, sausage, waffles ,biscuits gravey, all tasted good.( not restruants level good) but again I base my reviews on what I expect. Best Western delivered what I wood except from a moderately price traveling motel. I wood recommend to friends and would stay there again.

  • Jan 01, 2015 by Lise G

This is an older hotel which compares to the old "motels." We stayed for 4 nights this past December, 2014. The room had some updating, but overall gave the feel of an older place. The vanity sink stopper did not work, there was a large gap along the edge of the frame to the main door to the room which made it extremely drafty, and the heating unit to the room was very noisy. Room service apparently does not clean the floors because some potato chips spilled on the carpeting was never vacuumed during our stay. The advertised "full breakfast" was very disappointing. The selection was in small quantities and very limited. Pastries were not even available. If the hotel ran out of certain items, they did not replenish them and said "we ran out," as an excuse. Overall, we…

Very pleasant experience-great staff and nice room with frig and microwave .Stay included hot breakfast with a wide selection of items. Everything was very fresh and hot food was kept hot. This location was on the Island so out of Corpus traffic and busy-ness, which is what we wanted. Some really good restaurants close by. Not on beach but a short drive.

  • Dec 01, 2014 by Frank L

Good property but watch out for the sand burrs. If you get off of the pavement, even around the pool, there are sand burrs everywhere and they take forever to get out of shoes, pants/shorts and really bad with dogs.

  • Nov 01, 2014 by Aravind C

The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We got a livingsocial deal and the receptionist was kind enough to change our room to king. Room was smoke free, clean, and sufficient. Pillows were hard though and breakfast could have been better. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Nov 01, 2014 by Charlie J

Great location. Everything is close. Great friendly staff. Rooms were very clean . Breakfast was good. There are places to eat close by and the gifts shops close by. The beach is very close. We also visited Padre Island national seashore.

  • Nov 01, 2014 by Newhrzn1

We booked this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews. Overall, our stay was a good one. The rooms were furnished with all the amenities you'd expect and more. The property is clean and generally well taken care of. The beds offer an excellent rest. The location is excellent. The staff is responsive, even going out of their way when they can. An example of their service was our microwave. It wasn't working properly. I called the front desk and within five minutes they had swapped out our microwave for one that did work. Imagine my surprise! I will recommend this find to my friends.

We had a very good stay at this newly remodeled Best Western. My wife and I travel with our 2 grandchildren and I appreciated the fact that our rooms were connected. We were paid a visit by the manager of the property Ketan Bhakta. Over all it was a very good experience and the breakfast was great.

  • Oct 01, 2014 by foxyroxyville

A large, clean room on the island for $85 a night. Pet fee of $20 a night. Great location (across from a neat gift shop with castle). Large outdoor pool and grilling area. Breakfast was included and there were hot and cold items however, no variety in the three days we stayed. A little bit hard keeping the room temperature comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

  • Oct 01, 2014 by Chris G

I am currently in this hotel as I type. The power has been out a couple hours and its unbearably hot. No sleep, no breakfast, and the staff has no empathy. I asked if any type of prorated refund would be issued and all I got was "it's not our fault."

  • Oct 01, 2014 by robert S

Stayed for 3 days. Not bad at all. 2nd floor rooms have a high ceiling which make rooms seem more spacious. The room was clean, beds comfortable. AC worked great. Breakfast in Morning was good and had lots of choices. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice location right as you come onto the Island. Couple of drawbacks. Outside entries. This is ok, but if people are talking, you can hear them loud and clear from quite a ways off! No hot tub, although the pool is nice. I would stay again!

  • Sep 01, 2014 by Michael R

The tile floors make sand stuck to your feet or sandals a non-issue (other than vacuuming it up). The room was clean; everything worked (we didn't use the wifi). We stayed on the first floor, which made vehicle access a snap. I discovered many working people stay here by the slamming of car and truck doors and engines starting up beginning about 0600. That only served to get us going, too. Try Andy's Kitchen for breakfast.

I come down once a year to go to Big Shell and I always stay here with my husband and I have never had any problems. The room is always clean and staff is very nice. Wish I could bring my dogs but they do not let pets stay. That's the only down fall.

my wife and I rented 2 rooms for 2 nights each with a pet we were told that the cost would be $529.00 after taxes 2 separate times upon checking out on sunday morning we learned it would be $618.00 this is wrong no one to discuss this with other than a part time student the rooms were not very nice and questionably clean I do not being lied to Good Day, Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment regarding your experience at our hotel. I am very sorry to hear that there was confusion about the total charges on your bill. We discovered that your reservation was booked via online 3rd party website that provided you with an estimated total of your charges. Upon arrival, pets were declared and added to your account after check-in, thereby changing your total balance for both rooms. We apologize for any misunderstanding, however online bookings do not take into account extra charges added the folio such as pet fees, late check-out fees etc Again, please accept my sincere apologies for the confusion. We hope that you will give us another opportunity in the future. Ketan Bhakta General Manager

This is a lovely motel with very accommodating staff. We were well cared for and enjoyed our stay very much. It was perfectly situated for us (2 senior women and 2 children) to attend multiple destinations: Port Aransas, Padre Island, Mustang Island, St. Joseph Island, Horseback Riding on the Beach, and the Texas State Aquarium. Unfortunately, we disturbed our neighbors one night with our laughter because of the noise factor between the adjoining "suite" door.

I stayed here for 3 nights for a funeral and will say this hotel is excellent. Staff is very nice. Yes, maids took some time to clean room but I appreciate them taking their time to make sure it is clean throughout and kept stocked. There is PLENTY to do away from hotel so make your day planned out until at least 3PM to come back to a very clean and well kept room. AC is COLD....and I like it cold. Love the tile floors in the room because carpet is way harder to clean and sanitize than tile floors. The only complaint I have is I wished the bed sheets were bigger because it kept coming off the corner of mattress. Other than that, bed is good for me but my wife says it is too hard. I am okay with the bed except the sheets. Breakfast is good as they have eggs, sausage,…

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. Located at the head of Padre Island and just after the causeway/bridge, it was convenient to Corpus Christi, Mustang Island and the national seashore park. Our room (handicapped) was well appointed and well kept by a most helpful housekeeping staff. We would definitely stay at the Best Western on the Island when we visit the Corpus Christi and Padre Island in the future.

This is a difficult review for me b/c this hotel is nothing to rave about, yet there are few things I can criticize. The rooms are large with high ceilings (2nd floor that is), but the AC is not adequate for the size. We had a ceiling fan, not typical of hotel rooms, but even that combined w/ the lowest AC setting comfort was a constant concern. The staff is very friendly. On our second day, they offered to make me a fresh pot of coffee (24 hour coffee is a plus at this facility). They do have a full breakfast including waffles, eggs, biscuits, & sausage. It is not as good as a restaurant, but it isn't awful. The walls are thin as a previous reviewer mentioned, but not too bad after midnight. The cleaning staff does a fantastic job; however, be prepared to be gone ALL day if you…

Had we been smarter we would have extended our stay when we booked. We were so sad that we had to check out but we will be back as we were treated as family members and we loved it. We had a great time on the island..

  • Jul 01, 2014 by Maureen N

We left the hotel on Monday morning at 5:30 am and returned at 5:30 pm and our room as well as other rooms in our group had not been touched by the cleaning staff. We were told that they chose to clean the rooms of the folks who checked out (for more business) vs. those who were staying at the hotel. Also be aware, the walls are paper thin and we were kept up at night by crying children (until 1:00 am) and fighting couples on both nights of our stay. The only reason that we didn't give this a terrible rating was the man working the front desk on our arrival on Sunday and the woman who was working both the front desk and breakfast area (Monday and Tuesday). They were both great and very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment about our hotel. I am genuinely sorry for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay with us. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the delay in room service, our hotel has been running at full capacity daily and the housekeeping staff are working very hard to ensure that all rooms are serviced promptly while maintaining our cleaning standards. We are sorry that you did not receive service until late in the afternoon, I would like to let you know that it was not intentional, but a matter of staffing shortage due to sickness on that particular day. As for the noise disturbance, I wish that you would have notified the front desk about the concern at the time, on either of the days. All of our staff members are trained and experienced at resolving these matters promptly. We hope that you will give us another chance. Sincerely, General Manager

The hotel is a great location for fisherman. Close by the boat ramps and restaurants. The hotel is kept up very well and is close to everything on the island. Because of the location, the prices are high especially on the weekends.

gentlemen at the front desk were very friendly and courteous and always smiling. Coffee pot in room was not working staff brought in another one, very kind. Breakfast time staff assisted me with waffle maker, always with a smile. Very clean.

My daughter and I were moving her to a new job in Corpus Christi and had never been in the area. She needed to check out apartments, etc. We also required a pet friendly stay. The employees (especially Billy) were most helpful in suggesting apartments, retaurants, etc. The hotel is located close to a sealife rescue facility which was a quite interesting visit for me on a day when my daughter needed the car for work. If you are staying for fun it is close to the beaches, although if you are staying for business it got to be a lengthy trip into the city on a bi-daily basis.

This Best Western is very nice, although a bit pricey for what you get. We had a second floor room that had vaulted ceilings and a ceiling fan. The rooms all face the pool and a nice sunset. It's not on the water, and there's really nothing near by, but it is centrally located if you plan on visiting Padre Island and Corpus Christi. The staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was filling.

  • Jul 01, 2014 by Linda R

Very nice clean rooms. Most of staff very nice and helpful. A little high priced for my budget but since I travel alone I feel very safe at this Best Western and it's close to my friends. It is a pet friendly motel and that's fine but a couple of little dogs barked a lot.

  • Jul 01, 2014 by Robert C

Hotel staff were amazing! Very friendly, courteous staff who go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay! Rooms are clean and comfortable and great value for the price paid! Only complaint was the shower didn't have very good pressure. Pretty minor overall though! We'll definitely be staying here again!

  • Jul 01, 2014 by Wayne P

For the location, I guess the price was ok but for a 4 mile drive back up SPID (which is nothing because it's all 4 or 6 lanes), could've & will next time stay at the other Best Western for about $95 less. Four years ago when we began our memorial trips to Padre Island, the rates weren't that high, but are getting a bit out of hand for me. Next trip we'll stay in town & will save $.

We stayed at 2 other chains the two days prior. Day Inn Galveston TX $109.00 and Hampton Inn Rockport TX $109.00. Both offered very similar accommodations and Facilities’ both on or as close to the beach, But they were a lot Nicer comfortable, update and more luxurious feeling with far superior Breakfast offerings. These 2 other budget chains were several classes above this location, For the $199.00 a night we would expect a lot more, I do not know how This establishment can charge this kind of rates for mediocre and dated Hotel (motel really) with A So-so breakfast. The Staff were superb and very helpful, as they were at the other two chains.

  • Jun 01, 2014 by Debra K

We were lucky to obtain the last room for pets. The rooms were clean as was the mini fridge and microwave. The staff was excellent. They were helpful, courteous, and fast with the service. The continental breakfast was very good. Scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and waffles were hot. The cereal was fresh. The coffee was great. They even had juice.

  • Jun 01, 2014 by John G

If all Best Westerns were this good I would never look at another brand. Clean, quiet, easy to get in/out, cost, has a pool, breakfast is included. It's close to the beach and the Padre Island National Seashore Park. Stay here and you will be Happy.

We were looking for a nice hotel between Corpus and the Beaches and got a good deal for a two-nights stay at this Best Western. The photos were also nice and to our surprise the location, the surroundings and the pictures were real. The property is located just after the bridge to Padre Island on South Padre Island Drive on the left (you have to U-turn to get there) without any buildings besides it. It is a typical motel with one building with two stories and open hallways. Arrived there around 1PM and already got a room. Very nice. Good service throughout our stay by Joe! Thanks again. Booked a room with King Bed (which are all located on the ground floor while rooms with two beds are located on the first floor) and got room 109. Parked right in front of it, very convenient.…

  • Jun 01, 2014 by Kristina N

Rooms were clean, service was excellent, polite and friendly, food was good. Only problem was people were smoking outside the rooms even though it says no smoking. Some partying on property after 10 pm. All in all if I come back to SPI I would stay there again.

  • Jun 01, 2014 by Raul G

Joe and Billy were great in situating us during our 1 night stay at Padre Island. Without this Best Western, I would have to had stayed at Corpus. Our commute was short to the beach, and the breakfast was great. Thank you, Best Western.

  • Jun 01, 2014 by SUSAN H

Had a great stay at this hotel. Very clean and close to all activities we wanted to pursue. Close to the beach which was a fun time for me and my family. Close to a wide assortment of restaurants. Putt putt golf and a souvenir store directly across the street. Hotel had a nice pool that was very clean.

  • Jun 01, 2014 by 663marisaf

I stay at this hotel every time I come visit this area. It is clean, safe, in a good location. Has easy access to the beach, close to gas stations, shops and great restaurant. It is very clean, the bed is SO comfortable and service has always been impeccable. I would recommend it to anyone, for business, or family vacation alike.

  • Jun 01, 2014 by Michael G

We like it. It is very clean, the staff is helpful. We always staying at that hotel when we come to the Corpus Christi area. If we would have a choice to pick up hotels in that area we would definitely go to that particular Best Western.

  • May 01, 2014 by Karl-heinz V

The Hotel is located very close to fishing grounds in the Corpus Christi Bay - only a few minutes walk. Nice outdoor Swimming pool, good breakfast, quiet rooms - everything to make a perfect Holiday. Whenever We should come back into this area, we will book this Hotel again.

  • May 01, 2014 by Mree2014

I stayed at this Best Western because of the good reviews it got. I was not familiar with Best Western and therefore expected a hotel; this place is more like a motel. However, the room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast served was plentiful. With just a few changes, they could go from being a good place to stay to a luxurious place--my suggestions would be: keep the hall, stairs, and windows clean, provide thicker, bigger towels, larger in room trash cans, and add a dvd option in the room. I would definitely stay here again--overall, it is a clean and comfortable place with kind, helpful people.

  • May 01, 2014 by 285markf

I chose this particular place because of the reviews. They were almost all very good. It was nice and clean (my#1 priority). The front desk had a man that actually cared about his job and took some pride in it. It is a fairly new place and there's not a lot of buildings close by(personally I kinda like that), so other than the BBQ and Chinese place near by you may want to grab a bite to eat somewhere before you get there. The pool was nice and the breakfast was good and hot( biscuits and gravy). I slept great, was well rested, and ready to get back to work the next day. It was just what I needed.

  • May 01, 2014 by FrankTX

Last minute trip to Corpus. The hotel turned out to be pretty good. I liked the fact that it had tile instead of carpet in our room. The service was excellent. All around great and friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent. Only issue was the wait because the breaker kept shutting off (one day only). So I had to wait a little for the waffles. No big deal. Overall a great experience. Also its pet friendly, we were able to bring our chihuahua. A small daily fee.

  • Apr 29, 2014 by Matt J.

This hotel was very convenient to many of the sights in Corpus Christi. Some more of the good: pet friendly, great staff, very clean, and breakfast included with stay. All of this helped to make good first time visit to Corpus Christi for my wife who just moved to Texas from Hawaii!! Only con- some of the neighbors were noisy.

  • Apr 06, 2014 by Katie M.

Absolutely horrible management! The air conditioner sounded like it was actively breaking. We had called to verify information regarding checking and we're told if we arrive at 1am Saturday we would only be charged for Saturday. When we arrive we were told we would be charged for Friday and Saturday unless we waited until 330am to check in. We waited because we were not about to pay an addition $129 for 2 hours. When we brought this to the attention of the management, they told us that they should of charged us for 2 days and that it was common sense that you don't check in at 1am. Will never go back.

  • Apr 01, 2014 by Expert100

I highly recommend this hotel. The staff will ensure you are satisfied and take care of you. It is in a good location. It is clean, which is very important to me. The people who run the hotel will help you with anything at any time. They really take care of you. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Apr 01, 2014 by jj1945

Facilities are outdated. Service and food was excellent. Room had broken furniture, some of which they replaced when we complained. The other furniture was :on order." Some noisy neighbors, outside quiet hours that the manger could not control. Breakfast was very good. Internet service was good.

  • Apr 01, 2014 by Granddad Green Go

We stayed here on Easter weekend 2014. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. There were more pillows than we needed. The wall-mounted TV worked fine. Our room also had a microwave oven, a small refrigerator, and a coffee maker. We didn't use any of them but it was nice to know they were there just in case. The bathroom and sink area was spacious. Our only complaint regarding the plumbing is that the shower head had several settings but no matter which one you selected, there was no change in the strength of the spray, which was rather weak. We could have done with a stronger spray setting. There is a small, apparently well-maintained pool on the property, which owing to the early season was too cold to suit us but our grandson didn't mind. We liked the safety gate…

We wanted a place that was close to the beaches and this Best Western served our needs perfectly. The staff were polite and attentive, the rooms were clean and comfortable. We experienced problems with the small frig and this was taken care of very early the next morning. We will stay here again if we are heading to Padre Island.

  • Apr 01, 2014 by Jim M

Joe at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. He got our stay off on the right foot. The hotel lobby and breakfast area along with breakfast was good. The room was clean and comfortable and the rate was very reasonable. Good value over all. I would stay again and recommend it to others. The only downfall was that there were very few eateries within walking distance.

  • Apr 01, 2014 by sgtmorrison

PROS Breakfast offers cereal, waffle maker, juices, coffee and sausage or biscuits and gravy. Clean rooms with a outside pool. CONS Not good for running in the morning or walking around with family as there are no sidewalks Main traffic vein right along hotel route so it can be noisy No fitness center Must do U-Turns to access entrance if coming from Corpus Christi Housekeeping forgot new towels and soap on 2nd day If I ever make it down here again, I doubt I would stay here again. Was hoping for a little more and got a little less.

  • Mar 01, 2014 by beach6

The hotel was very clean and it was quiet . I would recommened this hotel. fair price for the hotel up to date rooms. Not a lot of resturants down that way. but it was a decent hotel only stayed one night went on a fishing trip.

  • Mar 01, 2014 by Jeri K

This hotel offered a special for minimum 3 night stay, which made it extremely attractive compared to pricing in the area during spring break. The room was very clean, bed comfortable, however, lighting above sink/mirror kept going dead (bad bulb or ballast?). After 2 days of spotty lighting while trying to get ready, I called the front desk. They offered to move me, but I wanted to have the bulb replaced first. I thought they said maintenance would be by, however, the cleaning lady told me they don't have a maintenance guy, she was told to go "fix it". By the next morning, it wasn't working again. The hot breakfast was hot, but very limited in choices. I would stay again if I was on a limited budget & they were offering discounts, otherwise, I'd opt for a higher-end…

  • Mar 01, 2014 by 766ashlynk

I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was very clean and the staff were polite. The room was beautiful and very spacious. My only concern was the lack of activity near the hotel. It is nowhere near beach that can be used for anything other than fishing and there wasn't much else to do close by. We drove into Corpus Christi bay area often. But, overall a very good place to stay!

Best Western on the Island is a pretty good hotel, but we did have a few minor problems. Our room was clean for the most part, but we noticed that the staff wasn't great about cleaning it while we were staying here. They didn't change the sheets or clean the floor. We had to call and complain the first day because they didn't get around to cleaning our room until 3 or 4 pm. The breakfast spread is minimal, but it worked for us. The location is nice and it was perfect for a group of women on a budget. I would book here again.

  • Mar 01, 2014 by stormysdude

Nice place, room was clean. Bed hard as a slab of concrete, though. Heat did not work in the room, so manager brought us a space heater and extra blankets. Good for the price, close to North Padre beaches.

  • Mar 01, 2014 by gregorio1955

Somewhat ironic that I get a call from the front desk while watching TV show Hotel Impossible. They asked to rebook room at higher rate midway through our 4 night stay. Issue was due to our room move we requested because loud construction workers used stairs next to our light and noise allowing exterior door. (New room door also sees daylight and allows construction vehicle backup beeps at workers hours.) Called Southwest.com, and they fixed issue. Now our flight delayed. Asked for 1pm check out. YES, for $20\hour after 11am, or something like that. Would have preferred more honey than vinegar. (Sorry, no room service, but could not remove rating.)

This is a simple hotel - main floor room had direct door to parking lot - motel style. Tile floor, huge room - comfy bed, good wifi, decent linens but not fancy. The fridge, stove and microwave made it ideal for economy travel. Free breakfast was never busy and food quality was good - yogurt, juice, waffles, hot options each day (scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits/gravy), lots of coffee always available in the lobby. Service was really helpful - very nice staff. Location was close to some great restaurants on the pier and close to island tourist shops. The rooms were quiet, nice pool (too cold to use it in February) - overall we would return - not fancy but great value.

  • Feb 01, 2014 by bjw9

The gal that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were great. We had done a lot of traveling and were very impressed with this hotel. The breakfast was good with a variety of choices.

  • Jan 01, 2014 by GPSguyAustin

Great reviews on TripAdvisor led us to book here. Exceptional housekeeping exceeds that found in many luxury properties in which we've stayed. Fresh, crisp sheets and great bedding. Cleanliness of breakfast area would shame most chain restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy, prompt check in to a nearly perfect room. Only glitch was a non-functioning smoke detector, which we elected to report only upon departure because we didn't want to move or have it corrected during our brief stay.

  • Jan 01, 2014 by MrsAldred

My husband and I drove across the US for a month stopping where we felt like it. I worked with someone that said Corpus Christy was beautiful, hence the need to stop. I was a little disappointed in the city itself however, the room we stayed in was by far the nicest room on our trip! Best Western really outdid themselves putting this hotel together!

  • Jan 01, 2014 by Alexander R

I did a PCS DITY move to Corpus (a military move) and Best Western on the Island is a clean hotel in a good safe area, close to base. They have a large well-lit parking lot – perfect for my 26' Penske + Car Hauler & Truck + Boat & Wife's Subaru... (It was quite a move!) The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The rate is very fair, breakfast was good to go, AND they allow pets. I'd recommend it.

  • Jan 01, 2014 by Zachary C

My wife and I enjoyed a pleasant stay here. The desk staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The room was pleasant and very clean. The exterior appearance of the hotel was pleasing. The breakfast was great.

  • Dec 01, 2013 by lowsea

I had a great stay its very pretty on the inside and the staff is great and very kind. Its in a great location and very comfortable. My only complaint would be the cheap ugly tile they use in the bathroom and maybe a little more food for the buffet. But overall its a great hotel and I would come back again!

  • Dec 01, 2013 by Joy H

As we were making the decision to stay the night, it was no contest as to where we would stay. This place is the best with friendly staff and excellent rooms. Considering our "Unwanted walk in" last time, it still didn't impact our decision...lol We were quickly booked and in our room. Still just as clean and nice as the last time. It is always quiet and we never have any complaints. We will always choose this place when in the area with no hesitations.

  • Dec 01, 2013 by Renee W

Great place to stay off the island. Clean rooms, friendly staff, breakfast included with your stay. There was plently of places to eat near by, Mini golf course , as well as gift shop , across the road.

  • Dec 01, 2013 by Excuse4Fun

I cannot remember the staffers name but he appeared to be the Manager. We stayed several days during the Thanksgiving Holliday. He was very polite and did an amazing job with the breakfast area. He even gave us several ideas on what we could do around town. My family and I have tried several Hotels in the Corpus area and have up until this stay been extremely dissatisfied. I think we have finally found a place to stay.

  • Nov 01, 2013 by safetytraveler1

Stayed in this motel during a business trip to Corpus Christi because of it's location AWAY from the congestion of the main parts of the city. It's located just off of the South end of the bridge over Laguna Madre on Padre Island. Not a new motel, but my room was very clean from top to bottom, and the bed was better than most would expect, very comfortable with both firm and soft pillows. When you first enter the room, you get the classic "beach motel" smell, but it's not as bad as some have reviewed it. Being a Gulf Coast resident, I'm used to it and just opened the window (a plus to me) and let in the fresh air. Bathroom is small, but there is a large vanity and sink so you ladies have plenty of room to spread out. The location couldn't be better if you are looking for quiet,…

This motel is conveniently located on North Padre Island with easy access to Port Aransas and Corpus Christ. The room was spacious and very clean and came equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, flat screen TV, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Housekeeping was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. The Internet access was good for my laptop and smartphone. The pool looked nice, but it was a little to cool for us to use. The continental breakfast included make it yourself waffles as well as scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, and gravy plus the usual coffee, juices, cereal, yogurt.etc. Overall better than average selection. I would definitely recommend this place!

  • Nov 01, 2013 by David T

I'd like to give a better rating but I just can't. I'm sitting a sofa-bed that is collapsing to the floor. The front desk said that new sofas and beds will be installed soon; but until they are, guests have to use what's here. The breakfast room is very nice, but the breakfast itself is mediocre - no meat, no cream cheese, no peanut butter, no bagels; hot food is limited to just waffles, scrambled eggs and that horrible biscuits & gravy that people here seem to like. On the plus side, the staff is friendly and the rooms are roomy.

  • Nov 01, 2013 by Dan65_08

Very friendly & caring staff was able to use my BW Gift card without any issues I will be staying here again. It is so close to all the amenities and to the docs for fishing or getting with your hunting good to go duck hunting.

  • Nov 01, 2013 by Izabel_zattar_01

The hotel is well located, easy to find. The rooms are clean and complete, with attention to small details. Is not facing the sea, but you can see it and feel the breeze. Several nearby places to dine. The staff is kind and very attentive.

  • Nov 01, 2013 by vgh113

This Best Western had everything my family needed. It wasn't too big, it wasn't too small, it was just right. My family and I had everything we wanted. The staff was super courteous. The breakfast was very neatly set up, and there was plenty of fresh coffee. They even offer oatmeal for the health conscious people. The pillows were amazingly comfortable. Nothing bad to say, all good.

  • Oct 01, 2013 by Nathaniel S

We stayed here at this hotel for 5 days. They were very accomidating. The breakfast was okay. I think they need more options, fresher juice and water as they were hot when we were drinking them. But all in all. Excellent place to stay for the price!

  • Oct 01, 2013 by Iambubblebee

My husband and I stayed here for two nights after checking out of a different hotel. From my very first contact I had great service. I was given a discounted price which was greatly appreciated. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The decor was nicely done. We came back one night and had a problem with our toilet and the front desk clerk had it remedied in less than five minutes in addition to bringing us a bucket of coffee creamer & sweetener for our coffee. We missed breakfast by 15 minutes the first morning and the girl working the front was sweet enough to go to the back & get us some muffins and fruit. Even the gentleman at checkout was pleasant. Our room was everything we needed and clean. I give two thumbs up to the entire staff. They were ALL wonderful…

This hotel sits on it's own surrounded by the island's grasslands so it is quite private. The rooms and parking lot are big which is good if you plan to enjoy the island's beaches. The staff were very pleasant. The breakfast had a lot of basic selections like most BW hotels.

  • Oct 01, 2013 by Kelly C

I was participating in a fishing tournament and this was the best location. The staff was very helpful and nice upon my late arrival.I asked for a wake up call and it was on time.Even though there was a huge biker rally in the same city. There was no loud noises or crowds out late. I will stay there again.

  • Oct 01, 2013 by Travel_GiGi1

Excellent location at top of North Padre - easy access to Corpus Christi - if you have a car. Great local restaurants. Hotel Room very clean, no mold or mildew. Tile floors like Island hotels however. King Bed was a bit saggy. Very Good for a mid-tier motel.

  • Oct 01, 2013 by Sharon O

These guys are always accommodating, kind and the hotel is always clean and room is COLD which is extremely important when at Corpus Christi (humidity). We added another night at the last minute and Savannah did everything to keep us in the same room.

  • Sep 01, 2013 by 663marisaf

Second time in this hotel, and will come again. It is very clean, employees are super friendly and nice. Hotel is conveniently located on the island, across from stores and restaurants and close to the beach. The beds are very confy, the rooms are quite and clean. Pool is awesome and clean too!

The father and daughter team that attended us were the absolute best I have ever experienced. One jumped in to help the other. Great team! Prompt and courteous! Superb! Excellent! Stupendous! Fantabulous!

  • Sep 01, 2013 by John S

The location of this hotel is located close to the beach and dinning in the area. The hotel appears to have been recently remodeled as well so everything in our room was on the newer side. If you are able get a second floor room, in the past we have stayed on the first floor and you will hear noise from upstairs.

Spent 3 days on Padre between the National Seashore and Port A. Best Western was ideally located for our daily activities. Best Western was a great place to end the day and begin with a tasty breakfast! See you again soon!

  • Aug 01, 2013 by Brian S

An excellent value! This quiet little hotel is close to the national seashore, stores, restaurants, and has some cool fishing spots within walking distance. I cannot say enough good things about the staff here! Joe at the front desk was extremely personable, knowledgeable and welcoming. The cleaning staff was friendly, and helpful. The breakfast was pretty standard: waffle maker, cereal, toast, fresh fruit, and eggs and bacon. Nothing fancy, but a nice bonus. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating is that the WiFi did not work the entire time we were there. It was inconvenient, as we were unable to look up directions, restaurant reviews, etc. I found the hotel to be VERY pet-friendly hotel! The pet rooms have nice tile floor instead of carpet, and they tend to put you…

We will only use the Best Western on the Island for all of our needs and any future needs including any visitors that we may have in the future, the price, staff, location to the island and all the island has to offer is paramount, the staff members are always cordial and accomadating and everyone we know is always advised to os this particular facility!!!

  • Aug 01, 2013 by Steve A

The staff was very informed and could direct you to most places, destinations. Staff was very quick to address any problems or questions. The rooms were very pet friendly, and the pool was beautiful. Plenty of food available at breakfast, nice variety, and refilled very promptly. Everything was easy to use and handy. We had 3 grandchildren and our dog with us and everyone looks forward to coming back next year.

  • Aug 01, 2013 by Jeff B

Options for accommodations are limited on North Padre island, especially if you're like us and traveling with a dog. Surprisingly not many hotels are pet friendly here. So we chose this hotel because it was close to the beach (although do not be misled to think that it's located ON the beach) and had a reasonable pet policy of $20 per night. Still, you should know what you're getting, right? This hotel is essentially a motor lodge where you park outside your room and enter from the outside. All rooms face west in this hotel. There is a small pool on the other side of the parking lot, sort of detached from the hotel. Breakfast is included, but nothing to write home about. Because of the motor lodge design, rooms are fairly noisy, and you can hear cars and voices outside. …

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean and had no foul odor. Staff was very helpful. It's near the beach and resturaunts. Easy to find. Nice pool. I will definitely stay here again!!!

  • Aug 01, 2013 by Cheryl K

Excellent accommodations, service, and staff! Our family would definitely return to this hotel because it was a good price and great service. It also had a beautiful location, overlooking the bay, but very close to the beach of which we took advantage. It was also close to a nice souvenir shop across the street, plus other shopping just down the main road of the island. It also had nice restaurants nearby.

  • Aug 01, 2013 by Rhonda E

The rooms were clean, easy access to fishing or beach, breakfast was good. It's an older hotel but kept updated. The parking lot was well lit and the pool was clean; I have nothing bad to say about anything at this location

  • Jul 01, 2013 by Eds L

Had a great time. Staff very friendly. Very close to the beach off of SH361. Also close to shops and restaurants. This place has a guest laundry. The cleaning people were also very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay for a few days.

  • Jul 01, 2013 by GeoffM

After a long drive from South Padre, after visiting a local attraction, we needed somewhere to stay for the night. We phoned up, determined there was availability, turned up 5 minutes later, and were checked into a large king size room with sofabed 5 minutes after that. The sofabed had seen better days but for a 5-year old it was fine. The king size bed was similarly perfectly good with plenty of (small) pillows. The towels provided for the pool were a little small but they did the job - and the pool was a reasonable size. Over the road is a crazy golf course and a large souvenir shop. I would not recommend walking from the hotel as it's a pair of busy lanes in each direction. However, I didn't notice the traffic noise from the rooms. Hot breakfast in the morning was included.…

We stayed there four nights mixing business with pleasure. The hotel was right across the bridge on North Padre, close to downtown (business) and close to the beach (pleasure). Staff was competent and friendly. It was very quiet. We actually extended our stay 1 day because of the price and the room. The room was clean and the houskeeping crew were nice and willing to meet our every need. We will defintely stay there on our next trip!

  • Jul 01, 2013 by zulusaa6

Just over the bridge on N. Padre Island, it is convenient to all the areas including Port A. The staff is friendly and competent and the room was clean and comfortable. The tile floor rather than carpet was right for this shore location. This is our third time staying here and we will again.

  • Jul 01, 2013 by Nicole P

Nice staff, clean overall, but could hear everything outside and/or around our room, making it difficult to sleep through the night, including our dog who became quiet restless due to the vocal feral cats on the property. If the price were 1/2 or less than what was charged, probably wouldn't be as disappointed.

  • Jul 01, 2013 by reeltxn

So clean, they took out the carpet and instead there is lovely slate tile which to me, "feels" cleaner, pillows galore, staff was so helpful - even figuring out a way to keep us in our room and extra night (my darling husband surprised me!!!) during 4th of July weekend!!

Finding tripadvisor.com hotel ratings was the basis for my selection of Best Western on the Island. Best was the room was clean, cold, spacious, nice staff, and free breakfast. The air conditioner was in fact loud but hard to complain with it working so well. Unfortunately our micro refrigerator didn't cool and it was 11pm before I concluded it wasn't a matter of adjusting the dial correctly. At that point I had to walk downstairs to obtain ice and make a makeshift ice chest using the sink to salvage my perishable items. I did report it immediately having read the review of the man who was charged for a television. I am likewise aware of two other separate guests who were charged for their rooms smelling. To my knowledge, hotel charging guests is rare so having now heard…

The room was very clean but I did have a few issues. 1)This motel is NOT located on the beach. You can see the water if you lean the right way but it is not accessible. 2) The breakfast is only served until 9am so we were not able to eat. 3) Check out is at 11:00am instead of the usual noon times that most other hotels offer.4) There is no fitness center....... Nice and clean but this is a motel, not a hotel and at almost $200 a night, it's just over priced. The staff is very friendly, however. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, it is highly appreciated! We are sorry to hear your stay was not completely pleasurable here at the Best Western on the Island. We do serve breakfast from 6am-9am every day and when requested can have breakfast ready at 5am. We apologize you were not able to enjoy breakfast and will definitely take it under consideration to extend breakfast hours. We are unfortunately not located on the beach but located on Corpus Christi Bay by the boat ramp access to the bay. At this time we do not have a fitness center; however we encourage all the family activities that North Padre Island and Corpus Christi have to offer. These activities include the Texas State Aquarium, the Lexington, Funtrackers, and visiting Mustang Island, just to name a few. Currently check out is at 11am but offer a noon check out with a courtesy call at no extra cost. We are very delighted to hear that the staff was very friendly! Here, at the Best Western on the Island, we make it our mission to provide a superb atmosphere creating an unforgettable hotel experience. Please always feel free to voice or bring attention to any concerns you might have when staying with us. It is with great hope that if you ever decide to visit North Padre Island and Corpus Christi in the future you might consider staying at the Best Western on the Island and allowing us to create a better impression!

This hotel is very nice, very clean. We stayed for two nights, the free breakfast is pretty good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is within walking distance of restaurants, will stay here again.

  • Jun 01, 2013 by GrammarMaiden13

My husband and I have stayed here twice now, and each time was great. It is a motel-type property, so the only problem we encountered was noise from the parking lot and pool. Also, the parking lot is a bit small, so maneuvering a larger vehicle can be difficult (we travel in a crew-cab pickup truck, and there were many other larger vehicles in the lot at the same time). Otherwise, the room was extremely clean and updated (and I'm a picky person, so this is a big deal. This was the cleanest room I've stayed in in a LONG time), linens fresh, and the breakfast adequate. Check-in and check-out were simple. Close to souvenir shops and fast food like Subway and Whataburger; also close to Doc's. We will definitely stay here again.

Our stay was wonderful! Very clean room. Friendly, helpful staff. The beds were firm and comfortable and there was always something hot for breakfast (bacon eggs sausage biscuit etc.). The hotel is in a wonderful location it seemed to be a short drive to the beach, dinner ad whatever we were looking for. The pool was nice and refreshing and clean.

First off the General Manager helped me clear up a error in BW locations - I said which BW I wanted to stay and my wife made a reservation at another BW in COrpus - in error. Room was clean, well maintained - TV volume a wee bit low - but - we came here to fish which we did. The front desk gal Rachelle was very helpful with our questions - Doc's has excellent sea food, Moma Mia's had EXCELLENT choices in Italian dinners (cash only) the entire exerience was EXCELLENT. BTW - FIshing - limit for 2 days in Specks but only one Redfish. We will be back.

I recently stayed at this hotel after making a 14 hour drive pulling a boat. I was extremely tired, as you might imagine, and was only interested in a comfortable quiet place to sleep. The first thing I did after checking in was to go to a local sea food restaurant named “Doc's” and had a good meal. I returned to the hotel with going to bed as my highest priority ( I was making the return 14 hour drive the next day). Before I went to bed I turned on the TV to check the Masters Golf Tournament scores and noticed that the TV screen was broken (I did not break it). I thought it was pretty shoddy to have a broken TV in the room, but it came on and I saw the scores and then I turned it off and went to bed. I got up the next morning and drove home. Nothing ever crossed my mind about… Dear nmcatcher Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review of your experience with our property. When I spoke with you on the phone, I explained why the tv damage charge was billed to your credit card. The tv was verified "undamaged" upon departure of the prior guest by my housekeeper, and it was reported "damaged" upon your departure by the same housekeeper. Furthermore the tv manufacturer identified the screen damage as "not covered" under the warranty as it was a result of physical damage. You proceeded to explain your story to me as described in your review. We both agreed that the tv was damaged, and that you had chose not to report it to the hotel staff since it was late and you were tired from the drive. As a result we could not pinpoint who and when the damage was caused. Out of good faith, I believed you and decided to refund the damage charge to your card. I explained that you would see this within a few weeks. Shortly thereafter we received a letter from the credit card company questioning the damage charges. It seems you chose to take an alternate route to resolving the issue even though you were assured a refund directly from the hotel. We stopped the refund process directly from the hotel as it would double the refund going to you, since the hotel is ultimately liable for the credit card refund. If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to call me at the hotel 361-949-2300 Sincerely, KB General Manager

She said: The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and had the type of remote that is easy to sanitize. Breakfast was good (including milk, coffee, juice, muffins, Canadian bacon, scrambled eggs, waffles). He said: The TV volume wouldn't increase enough. Breakfast was nice. They didn't have any regular bacon. The price was better than the other nearby options. Close to Corpus and Padre Island National Seashore Park.

  • Apr 01, 2013 by ken g

This motel was centrally located for everything we wanted to do. 10 - 15 minutes from the National Seashore Park, on the island which is much quieter than on the mainland side --yet only minutes away from dining, shopping and attractions. The breakfast buffet was much better than expected. Loved the waffle maker, bacon, scrambled eggs, plus all that one usually gets. The front desk staff we met --- mainly Kim & Joe-- were very friendly and helpful with advice about the area. We had never been to Corpus before so we had many questions. Pool is not heated which made it quite cold for the time of year we stayed. Also a hot tub would be a super addition to this property. Air conditioner was louder than most, but didn't keep us awake. Bed very comfortable. Lots of towels &…

Central location on Padre Island, near access to Mustang Island and Corpus Christi mainland. About 10 minutes to National Seashore access. Nicely appointed room, clean, includes microwave, mini-refrigerator and coffee maker.

We chose Best Western on the Island due to its Tripadvisor rating. The room was clean and the bed was fine. That is where the good things end. The furniture was very cheap. The air conditioner was so loud you were afraid a hurricane was blowing outside. The couch/hide-a-bed was so bad you really couldn't use it. The breakfast was terrible, thank goodness for dry cereal. Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel, your concerns and opinions are first priority to us. We apologize for the unsatisfactory experience you had with us at the Best Western on the Island. As the only pet friendly hotel on North Padre Island, we have made our first floor pet friendly with tile for the many conveniences and sanitary reasons. As a result, the air conditioner sounds louder on the tile flooring. We have remodeled within the last twelve months and are still continuing to make upgrades in all aspects of our hotel amenities from furniture décor to breakfast. Our breakfast has been upgraded from a free continental breakfast to a free hot breakfast with a different daily menu ranging from eggs, bacon , sausage, biscuits and gravy, breakfast tacos, and to all the enjoyable basics. Thank you again for taking the time to give us feedback of your stay. We take great pride in our hotel and hope that if you ever visit Corpus Christi again that you might give us another chance to change your mind about the experience here at the Best Western on the Island. Safe travels in the future!

Our family would highly recommend this Best Western. We were impressed with the facilities and this was our first trip to the Padre Island area. Front desk personnel were very friendly and informative on which beaches/visitor areas to see. Continental breakfast was great each morning too. We stayed in an upper level room with vaulted ceilings and carpeted floors. Very nice. Also enjoyed the outdoor pool a couple of nights. Thank you.

The beds are insanely comfy after 24 straight hours of driving... Works for me.

  • Mar 01, 2013 by mistyweaver

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our Texas road trip and have to say that it is the absolute worst place that we stayed. The room was stark, uninviting, in desperate need of renovation, especially the bathroom, the towels were worn out and the bed sheets had holes in them. Breakfast was disgusting - needless to say we only went once. Cheap cereals, bread and english muffins that were stale, boiled eggs that were off, withered fruit, bad coffee - need I say more? It reeks of penny pinching. Funnily enough we stayed in another Best Western in Houston on the next leg of the trip and it was exactly the opposite .... for the same price! I must add that Padre Island as a whole was not impressive at all and unless you really have to, don't go. Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy North Padre Island nor your stay here at the Best Western on the Island. We pride ourselves on our friendly and professional staff that takes great care in making sure the rooms are beyond standard. Our hotel has been extensively renovated in the last twelve months including rooms, front desk, and breakfast area. We appreciate the breakfast feedback and have since upgraded the free continental breakfast to a free hot breakfast. We assure you, and every guest, any decisions made are always made with the concern of our guest. We strive to make every guests experience the best one possible, and will continue to make decisions that will enable us to improve our hotel and enhance the experience of our guest to be even better than the last. We hope that if you ever decide to visit North Padre Island or Corpus Christi that you might consider staying with us again. Thank you again for taking the time to review us, safe travels in the future.

Hotel is located right off of Padre Island drive; very convenient location. The rooms have a view of the bay. However, this is not a "romantic hotel"; it is more for families and fishermen. The rooms are clean, and the hotel staff is professional, courteous and very friendly. The food is very basic; cereals, yogurt, gravy and biscuits and it's all free. Coffee is okay. Waffles are great! One thing that we weren't satisfied with was the water pressure in the shower; low pressure. The front desk staff is professional and friendly. It is obvious that the cleaning staff do an excellent job, not only in our room, but in the other rooms. The lobby and dining areas are spotless. I suggest you rent a room upstairs and toward the back of the hotel for less noise. It is a pet-friendly…

Great customer service as usual! The hotel is right on North Padre Island and an absolutely convenient location if you're planning for some fishing/boating fun. The do have available boat parking, laundry facility, and ice machine. The definite must haves! If you want beautiful vaulted ceilings check out the 2nd floor. The 1st floor is ceramic tiled for those avid fishermen that don't want to deal with carpet coming back from the muddy coastline. My husband got frustrated with the remote (it had no battery charge)...I called late around 11pm and they were there in less than 5 mins to replace the remote. Great service indeed! I did rate the value as very good because when we previously stayed during a non-holiday rate it was at a much lower rate. I understand now that the…

Cudos to Best Western for ditching the styrofoam!!! Breakfast was the best we have had in any of the chains. This place was super clean. Better bed than we have at home! We slept great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Clean, quiet, wonderful!

  • Dec 01, 2012 by Mare60845

The staff was friendly and helpful. I used the laundry which was adequate. The front desk will sell you soap for one dollar. My room was quiet and clean. Ask for the rear of the property to be farther away from road noise. When you come from Corpus Christi, look for the motel on the left and make a uturn to get there. The motel is about three miles away from the city but as the title implies, it's has great access to Padre Island. I went to a pretty good aquarium complete with dolphin show at 11AM. There is an art museum practically next door.

  • Dec 01, 2012 by MARIA P

The only thing was that, when I booked the reservation was for 2 rooms. I wanted them next door to each other not on different floors. In my party was my husband and I and my 2 kids (teenagers). So I didn't sleep very well knowing that my kids where in the second floor in a area that I'm not familer.

We loved the location because we weren't in the city of Corpus Christi. We had great views of the water. The room was nice & big. Breakfast had great food. Loved the biscuits and the variety. The staff couldn't have been any friendlier. They gave us great recommendations. We were close to quite a few things.

All around great room, good breakfast, but you would think the stairwells would be made of concrete instead of wood....very loud all nite long. I must be fair could of had room closer to middle but attendant didn't tell me stairs are noisy due to traffic. Will pass on any room near stairwells from here on out... Everything else is very good to excellent...but sleep and peace are very important to me.

My wife, son, and I were all absolutely pleased with this motel. The staff did very well with keeping our stay very satisfying. Anything we had a question on, they were there to assist you. We thought we had an issue with our fridge and one staff member attempted to put us in another room that looked just a good as the one we had. It ended up being a user error on my end for I didn't notice the dial knob which lowered the temp. I wasn't too big of a fan with the pillows. The room was neatly decorated but the pillows were just too poofy. Kneck ache is all I can say. And bring your own pillows. On request, maids will clean your room. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and came with a variety of choices. This place is right down the street from Mustang Island Beach which was…

Had a Living Social voucher for a 2 night stay - glad we had a voucher as we wouldn't have paid full price. The room was big but the couch was dirty and stained. Staff were friendly. Didn't sleep very well as the fridge motor was noisy and the pillows were uncomfortable. Good location.

Went for a weekend trip with my husband and our dog. Got a great deal on the hotel, so we checked it out for an spur of the moment trip. Staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable (wanted a king room, but they were sold out). The coffee maker didn't work, but it wasn't the end of the world. great sized fridge and microwave. The breakfast wasn't much to brag about, but it was good enough. Super close to Mustang Island State Park and the National Seashore. We visited both, along with the South Texas Botanical Gardens. The only negative was the grassy area where you're supposed to take your pets to potty was COVERED in burrs that got in our shoes and in our puppy's paws. So, we took him up front to potty. Overall, met our expectations.

  • Oct 01, 2012 by J F

Went there for a weekend trip with my girlfriend. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable (Wasn't a fan of the pillows though). The only thing I truly didn't like was the family of little bugs that greeted us in the tub, but I washed them down and all was good. It's location is great and it's pet friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

We go down to Corpus a couple of times a year....usually in September we stay at this Best Western because we fish a shark tournament. This last time was the best trip we have had here. We stayed 4 days, the hotel has been taken over by a new owner I think within the past two years. They have completely remodeled the hotel! It was VERY nice and such a great price. The conitinetel breakfast was awesome and we really became friends with the staff...there was one guy who was kinda creepy but I think its because he was checking me out hahaa. But it was such a great time and we will definitley be back!!!

Just want to start by saying the staff is Great! Room was clean and came with a fridge and microwave. We traveled with 3 boys and they loved the pool! We requested a fan for our room so there was no complaint with outside noise for us. Very short drive to the beach. All in all a great last minute before school starts trip!!

  • Aug 01, 2012 by sfhef

Room was clean, breakfast good, no complaints about the noise. The tub was clogged but once I reported it, it was fixed within an hour. First time to this area, August - very hot. If I went again to this area I would stay in Port Aransas which is a little north. It would be further to the San Padre National Seashore which is beautiful but there is more to do in Port Aransas.

  • Aug 01, 2012 by Pumpdude

Stayed two nights at this Best Western on North Padre Island near the JFK bridge. Excellent location, small property. The breakfast was good and service was great but the rooms were noisy, original construction did not use much insulation and we could hear kids running upstairs and around the corridors. If your going stay at this property, stay at the far end away from the office as we were right next door (noisy). The price was high for this property, but it's the busiest 2 weeks of the year.for this price point, I would stay somewhere else.

It was a last minute thing, the last trip for the family for the summer, 3 days by the beach and everything thing was book, lucky for us they had a one room left but it was smoking and smelled awful (can’t believe they still have smoking rooms in 2012). But lucky for us they got a quick cancellation and we got a room. The ceiling was real high, a very nice feature you do not see often and there was a ceiling fan too. Staff were very nice, No complaints there. Cons: the towels were nasty and dark, not the fluffy white ones everyone is used to. These towels were so old. Went to store and bought our own towels. The room was clean, but we did not get any trash bags in the trashcans for some reason. And the bathroom was ok, old but ok. They had super hot water but the shower head…

Last minute book in.. Very friendly, fast staff and very helpfull. Nice, clean room,AC is freezing cold and comes with a microwave and refrigerator and the wi-fi connection is great! I would like to recommend this to families with kids. We love our stay and would come back again and again!

  • Aug 01, 2012 by Lynn G

The room was decent, and clean. We were provided with plenty of towels. Just be careful if you bring your dog, Our dog had sharp burrs under her paws after letting her out just once in the area they said to take her. We had to go to the drug store to get scissors to cut them out. We ended up taking her someplace else to potty. We only stayed the one night, that was enough for us.

My daughter and I traveled to Corpus Christi for a mother - daughter trip recently for 4 nights and before booking this hotel I reviewed several hotels and motels and most every review had negative aspects to them. Best Western on the Island had good reviews and I decided to book with them,. We were very pleased with the hotel, the staff and the overall cleanliness of the room. It did require a little drive time to get over the causeway but compared to what was offered at the price and the negative reviews for every hotel I looked at on the internet it did not bother us at all. Our room was very nicely decorated with vaulted ceiling and ceiling fan. We are not morning people so we never tried the continental breakfast. We did find that people on the island were very…

I booked this hotel after reading all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor. Paying nearly 200 a night I imagined the hotel should live up to the glowing comments posted here. It did not. First of all the location is right smack at the end of the causeway which means staying on the "mainland" would be just as convenient. If you are unfamiliar with the area you might imagine that the hotel is situated in an area near the beach but the beach is no where near this area instead there are the typical trappings of CVS and beach/tourist stores. This location is not scenic. The hotel being at the end of the causeway forces you to pass the entrance, go to the first signal and pull a U-turn. When you leave the hotel to head into the island you must also pull a U-turn where the causeway…

We booked 2 rooms last minute after leaving a filthy nasty hotel that we had originally booked elsewhere in Corpus Christi. Joe at the front desk was very helpful and got us 2 rooms next to each other even at 11:30pm. We only booked 1 night at first because we really wanted to stay on the beach. Joe gave us some suggestions but didn't think there was going to be anything available, but said if we couldn't find anything we would be able to book our current rooms for the remainder of our stay. He was right, everything in our budget was booked, and we were very happy with the property and staff and location so we booked out the remaining days. THe rooms were beautiful! Huge with plenty of room to spread out and relax. The upper level rooms have vaulted ceilings excpet the…

We had a great stay at this hotel. Everything was clean and the A/C worked great. The pillows were a little bit too soft for me, but our 6 year old loved them! The cleaning staff were very accomodating if we were still in the room when they came to clean. About 5-10 minutes from the beach. Great stay!

  • Jun 01, 2012 by BrianM53

Convenient to all the beaches of South Padre Island and Mustang Island up to Port Aransas. Stayed in a pet friendly room at $20 extra per night. Room was clean, although had some issues with the in room refrigerator the first night. It reset once the condenser defrosted. Room also had small coffee maker and microwave. Breakfast were a good start to the day, especially the fresh waffle maker. The only negative is there was only one, causing a waiting line sometimes. Overall a good value.

  • Jun 01, 2012 by emilynygona

This place is convenient and close restaurants. Be aware that this hotel is not by the beach. The room is clean but it has a strong pine-sol smell. The air condition is fairly new.

  • Jun 01, 2012 by Marisa F

The hotel was very clean, and quite. The front desk was very helpful. We had a room on top floor with view. It felt clean and safe the whole time. The beds were soooo confortable, and we had 4 pillows per each bed! The breakfast is included (try the waffle machine!) which is a plus! Thank you so much!

When traveling to a popular beach location, it can often be hard to find somewhere to stay that is affordable and well-kept. The Best Western on the Island in Corpus Christi was a pleasant surprise that fulfilled these qualities. My room was clean and comfortable with soothing colors and interior design. It had a stone tile floor that I thought was a smart choice for flooring due to the sand you're bound to track in. This hotel is located on the southwest corner of the road that leads further in to the actual Padre Island beach areas, so you don't get stuck in the middle of beach traffic. I was also impressed with the nighttime front-desk clerk. I had gotten lost trying to find the hotel very late at night (near midnight) and I called the hotel for assistance.. The…

This hotel is by far, the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in!! Very comfortable beds and the tile floors were great! No dirty carpet like most other hotels! Free breakfast, very friendly staff, and excellent prices. I have nothing to say but good things about Best Western on the Island! We will definitely be back!!

  • May 01, 2012 by Becca D

the hotel was clean and the beds comfortable. They have a easy-to-clean remote control to prevent the spread of germs (much better than putting the remote in the ice bag!). They have an ice machine and vending machine, but the vending machine was not very well stocked and was very expensive. The best part of our stay was the free breakfast. They had lost of healthy food to choose from. They had oatmeal, donuts, cereal, milk, natural yogurt, raisin bran, hard boiled eggs, waffles, fruit, and more. Very yummy! there is no restaurant at the hotel, but it is very close to Snoopy's where we went for dinner.

This place has a great location--quick to get to restaurants, beaches, and other attractions. However, it is not in a crowded, high-traffic area, which makes it peaceful and it feels safe. For the price, you get a great room. Ours was impeccably clean and comfortable. Great plumbing, great A/C and good sized refrigerator. We slept better in the bed than we do in ours at home. The staff is also incredibly friendly. My husband went down to see what time the complimentary breakfast ended (9am) and it was already after 9, but the employee at the front desk assured him that if we hurried back, they wouldn't take it away until we ate. We chose this place because of the price and the reviews. If you are on a budget and/or plan to spend most of your time out and about, I…

My husband and I stayed here about 3 years ago and were very happy with the Manager Ketan Bhakta and his staff! We came back this year and have to say that this stay was even better! The rooms have all been remodeled, no more icky carpets! Tile is so much nicer, cooler and any spills can be wiped up completely, not like carpeting. We dealt with Rice, Sarah and Joe, the Front Desk persons, all very polite and professional. The housekeeping staff were all eager to help make our stay comfortable and clean. They are doing some major remodeling in the lobby area now and we can't wait to see how that will come out. Breakfasts were great, hard boiled eggs, toast, biscuits and gravy, hot cereal, cold cereal, even waffles! The hotel is located 12 miles from the National Sea Shore,…

It was our 2nd trip to Corpus Christi North Padre Island...We stayed at Holiday Inn the first time and was quite content with our stay. But with our 2nd time in Corpus Christi we decided that we just wanted a place to sleep before our fishing trip. Boy were we surprised!!! When we arrived 1/22/12 we were aware that they were doing some renovations. We got a room on the 1st floor and the moment we opened the door our first thought was...WOOW!!! Is this the room we paid for or did we get an upgraded suite?! It was the first time I saw such high quality ceramic tile used in an actual hotel room floor. Who does that? Smart hotel owners that's who! There was no awkward mystery stains in the carpet which most hotels suffer from...Kudos and great job on all of the renovations. The room…

As our first visit to this hotel, we were very impressed for the price. The rooms are very spacious and also clean. They are doing some construction which is kind of loud and doesn't smell very well but we did not let this effect our visit. However, there was a downside... As we were getting ready to go out for the evening and showers were taken, the housekeeper proceeded to walk in without knocking and yes did get an unexpected scene. She took off running to the front desk. Well after we finished collecting ourselves from that event. We thought it should be mentioned to the front desk clerk so maybe a message would be passed along to knock before entering a room you know "just in case".. Well when we went up to mention it, to them it really didn't seem like a big… Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I would like to apologize for your unexpected incident. The front desk informed me of the incident the next morning, and the issue was immediately addressed with the housekeeper. I do apologize for not relaying this information to you before you departed. Once again, I sincerely apologize for that particular part of your stay. I did notice that your overall experience at our hotel was pleasant and hope you choose to stay with us when you visit North Padre Island. Thank you KB

A bit too pricey for this "motel", but I guess you pay for the location, not the room.

I had to work on the Island for a week, and picked the right hotel. This property is clean, and comfortable. My room has a vaulted ceiling which makes it feel like home. Free internet, fridge, and comfortable bed. The staff was cordial and the breakfast was better than eating at the restaurant (eggs, kolachies, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and fruit. Of course, coffee, milk and juice.) Didn't get a chance to swim, but the pool is clean. I will return soon. Keep up the good work. Sincerely, Cesar

Originally chose this hotel for proximity to the beach and to be honest to keep expenses down. I was pleasantly surprised to find the rooms spacious and clean with vaulted ceilings. Pool was great, well maintained. Breakfast included biscuits and gravy as well as a kolache along with usual fruits, waffles, etc. Management was very helpful pointing out local dining and helped us with every thing we needed. Parking available for trailer which is very useful when you have your boat along!

This place came as a huge relief as clean hotels are hard to find in southern Texas. The owner happened to be on site for most of our stay, and he was very polite and informative. They have a nice pool, free computer/internet usage, and warm breakfast in the morning. Also, the beds have a nice thick pillowtop. This is a nice place to stay if you are looking for a clean, quiet, and comfortable place but don't want to pay for a lot of extra frills. Would definately stay again.

We spent two nights here as we have done a few times before in the past, but we will not stay again. First problem was middle of the night I had an emergency restroom run and after finishing my business the toilet would not flush. I had to go down to the lobby after a few minutes to see if I could borrow a plunger as well as use the restroom there. One restroom in the lobby was out of order and the other had no toilet paper or paper towels. The attendant at the desk couldn't find a plunger and told me that they would have to fix our toilet the next morning meaning my entire family had to go downstairs to the lobby to use the restroom in the morning. They fixed our restroom late in the morning when the maid came to clean the room. Lobby restroom never had paperwork towels…

We have stayed here twice and have been very happy. Dog friendly but it is $20 extra a night. But they do have nonsmoking rooms that are dog rooms. Owner lives there. Staff and owner are VERY accommodating and friendly.

Thanks to Ketan Bhakta, General Manager and his staff we had the most wonderful experience of a lifetime.. What we expected to be a non eventful fishing trip turned out to be the best and most relaxed time ever. If you are in Corpus Christi, Tx and need a greaat place to stay please do yourself a favor and look up this hotel. KB will make sure that you are taken care of. This hotel was exceptionally cleanboth the grounds and the rooms. The service was excellent. Before I retred I worked for Nabisco and traveled and stayed at some of the most expensive and highly rated hotels. Nonne can compare to the Best Western On The Island. Ask for KB and get ready for an exampallary experience Barbara Ellis, Schertz, Tx

The hotel wasnt PERFECT. . The room was acceptable, its just a place to sleep right? the only thing i didnt like was that when you take a shower there was nooo ventelation in there, so when your getting dried off and stuff your sweating to death if you take a hot shower....kinda like a sauna. our towel rack broke off the last couple minutes of our stay haha oh well...you could see where the wall had been patched before. bed and pillows were comfy....used to fridge...there was also a microwave. We went in the pool our first night and there were loooooots of ants and other bugs in it, which was nasty to have our 2 year old son in. its not a pretty quite road, there really isnt a lot around the hotel, we would drive to corpus or port aransas to go eat or shop. the beach is like 5…

I am a pretty low mantinence person, it doesn't take much to impress me. This was by far the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced!!! The room smelled like feet. I used my whole bottle of body spray and it still would not cover up the horrendous smell. The light switches looked like they had not been cleaned since the hotel first opened. I used the plastic ice bag to flip the switches. And definately bring your own hair dryer! I don't usually use them but this one looked like it would have caught on fire if turned on. We opened the hide-a-way bed to find all sorts of french fries, dirt and trash inside. Not exactly where I wanted to lay my 16 month old. The shower head leaked from all different locations making it impossible to rinse yourself off. Hotel staff was not very…

Excellent place to stay. Large comfortable room with windows that open. Very quiet. Nice view out to the water. Staff was very accommodating. Had a lovely dinner and watched the sunset at a restaurant close by. Just a great place overall. This is not a fancy place, but I liked it better than the expensive fancy places.

At last we found very good beaches in Texas. added to thefact we found a hotel to match about 3 miles from the beach. It is near a highway and surprisingly quiet. Rooms very good, clean, roomy and well presented. Free continental served tyo 9:30. Very good but not if you want a late breakfast...no problem there, plenty of places to eat nearby. A hot Texas Summer deserves a good pool.. that's what they have and many hours spent there when not on the beach. A very satisfying stay at this hoel and will most definitely stay there again.
